November 2019 MoonBox “Transform” Review

MoonBox sends out an info guide every month describing the featured items included in the box as well as instructions on how they should be used. It also gives a general overview of the major cosmic events happening this month. This month has a New Moon in Scorpio; MoonBox emphasizes the importance of transformation this month, encouraging you to examine the "dark" parts inside of you that you may not like and focusing on tweaking those features that are a part of you but do not define you.

Wooden Lunar Calendar/Collectible Crystal Card

Every month MoonBox includes a stylish wooden lunar calendar with the featured collectible crystal card on the back.

All Together Now Moon Magic Spice, 1.5 oz - Retail Value $9

It is always fun to receive an unexpected, out of the ordinary item in subscriptions like MoonBox. Food seasoning is definitely an oddball item for this type of subscription, but I am very much into it! This has a salty base with a warm, citrusy hint to it. I think this would be great on any meat or steamed veggie, but the brand recommends using it on anything from fish to fruit. I don't know how much of this you're supposed to use for its intended menses-supportive purposes, but I'd be willing to give it a few extra grinds and shakes if it really did help to reduce monthly cramps!

Moon and Jai Palo Santo Blessing Bundle - Listed Value $9

This ethically harvested bundle is used to burn and smudge the charcoal to promote good vibes and energy within your household. Since I don't feel comfortable lighting some sticks on fire inside my house, these will be placed next to my succulents and other potted plants along with my other Santo Palo sticks I've received from other subscription boxes.

Toe Talk Mantra Grippy Socks - Retail Value $12 (currently on sale for $10)

Socks are always a welcome addition to any subscription box; I have loads and loads of them, but you really can never have too many! This pair fits comfortably below the ankle, and the grippy soles really keep me from slipping and sliding around on my hardwood floors. When I unpackaged this pair, I noticed a red residue on the packaging, and when I slipped them off my feet were covered in red. Very odd! I would definitely recommend soaking or washing these alone before use.

Wild Yonder Botanicals Sea Salt Face Glow, 2 applications - Retail Value $8

If you're into physical exfoliants, this sea salt kit really does the trick. It didn't feel abrasive, but I really noticed a huge difference in my complexion after I washed all my dead skin cells down the drain. Mixing one packet (it came with two applications) with a splash of warm water, I massaged an even layer all over and let it sit on my skin for 3 minutes. After rinsing, my face felt a little tight but also baby soft.

Phantom Quartz: A stone of hidden truth, revolution and evolution. Associated signs: Scorpio, Cancer, Pisces

I was not very impressed with this month's stone, the Phantom Quartz. It looks a little plain to me, especially after receiving such great crystals from this subscription in the past. The Phantom Quartz is a good representation of a Scorpio's tendency towards being the most mysterious, misunderstood sign, but I am just not wowed with the quality this time around.

The Verdict: This month's MoonBox was filled with some fun, interesting pieces. They definitely stepped outside of the box for the majority of items, but I just wish they could have done the same for the deluxe stone this month. The value of this box didn't exceed its price point for me this time around, but hopefully MoonBox has some tricks up their sleeve for a festive December box.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, but sign up by 11/22 to get the December box!

Value Breakdown: This box costs $34.00 + $2.00 shipping, which means that each of the 6 items in the box has an average cost of $6.

I have been box-obsessed for over 10 years, and I am always on the hunt for new beauty, fun flair and trendy clothing boxes. A fun night for me includes an exfoliating foot mask and a bag of Dot's Pretzels while binging Rupaul’s Drag Race.

As a Scorpio, out of a Scorpio, out of a Scorpio, I truly appreciate the stone and the meaning.
