BomiBox K-Beauty Subscription October 2019 Review

BomiBox has detailed info cards for each month’s box on their website. The info card describes all the items included in the box and instructions on how to use them. This is great since a lot of the products have instructions that are not in English.

Heimish Bulgarian Rose Hydrogel Eye Patch, Full-Size! Retail Value $20

I was stoked to see these- I have actually considered purchasing these because they combine some of my great loves (eye masks, rose) with a reputable Korean brand. This jar comes with 30 pairs and the light pink hydrogel mask is designed to brighten the skin under your eyes as well as add in some hydration. Since rose is such a soothing ingredient and the texture of hydrogels are cooling, these would also be great as a spot-mask for inflamed cheeks or angry pimples that need to calm down.

Heimish Black Tea Mask Pack - Buy the full-size version for $22

I loved this mask- it felt like a much more affordable dupe of one of my all-time favorite masks, the Fresh Black Tea Instant Perfecting Mask. Along with black tea, this mask has aloe and Centella, and it was cooling and refreshing to my skin. This single-use mask pod didn't have the size listed, but considering the full-size product is 3.7 ounces I wouldn't value this sample at more than a dollar.

Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner Set - Estimated Value $20.15

I took the estimated value from the values of the products inside of it, minus the foil sample. Let's break down this set by what came inside of it.

Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner, 100 ml - Retail Value $12

This is another well-known K-Beauty brand, and I was excited to try this toner since it is used and loved by one of my favorite K-beauty Instagrammers, @Kelldris. This is free from essential oils and artificial fragrance, and the texture is best described as juicy water- thicker than regular water but not quite a serum. I have been using this as an essence after my toners and before my serums, and I have definitely noticed an improvement in my skin's hydration levels while using this.

Pyunkang Yul Low pH Pore Deep Cleansing Foam, 40 ml - Estimated Value $5 (Buy the 100 ml version for $12.50)

This came inside of the set, and we also received it as a standalone item (if you check out the group shot you will see two cleansers, but it felt redundant to review it twice). I'm not sure of the why, but now I am the proud owner of two of these cleansers. I think the name "deep cleansing foam" is accurate- this is definitely stronger than a typical foam cleanser, though it didn't irritate my skin. This has a slight herbaceous scent that I couldn't quite place, but it wasn't unpleasant.

Pyunkang Yul Nutrition Cream, 0.3o oz - Estimated Value $3.15 (Buy the 3.3 oz version for $35)

I have actually used this before- I owned the full-size version thanks to a long-ago PinkSeoul mystery box. This is thick and luxurious- a great nighttime moisturizer for my dry skin, especially now that it is a bit colder.

This set also included a foil sample of their mist, cleanser, ampoule, and moisturizer- I am saving this for either future travels or my gym bag.

Nature Republic Aloe Vera Soothing Gel Mist, 150 ml - Retail Value $7.90 (currently sold out)

This is another product I have owned before, only it came in a Sooni Pouch box. I actually love this mist- 92% of the formula is aloe vera, so it is incredibly nourishing and hydrating to my skin. The mist itself is fine as well, so my preferred way to use this is actually as a toner in my skincare routine.

W.DRESSROOM Dress & Living Clear Perfume No.49 Peach Blossom, 2.36 oz - Retail Value $7.90

Getting a room and linen spray in a K-beauty box is new to me, but I am not mad about it. This has notes of peach, coconut, apple, and jasmine, and I enjoy the lightly sweet, fruity scent.

Touch My Body Goat Milk Hand Cream, 100 ml - Retail Value $2.76

Cold weather always destroys my cuticles, and even though I own so many hand creams I am the worst at actually applying them. The formula was thick thanks to the goat milk and shea butter, and the scent reminds me of baby powder.

Etude House 0.2mm Therapy Air Mask in Collagen - Retail Value $1.30

I've tried this line of masks before, and I love how thin and flexible the material is- the mask really hugged to the contours of my face. The serum was juicy and hydrating but did leave me a tad sticky after I removed it.

A'Pieu Milk One Pack in White - Retail Value $2 (currently on sale for $1)

The A'Pieu milk masks are a bit of a K-beauty classic; they provide great nourishment to your skin for a super affordable price. The milk protein in this mask helps to soften skin, while aloe soothes.

The Verdict: This was my first time trying BomiBox, and as a K-beauty lover I really enjoyed it. I appreciated that so many well-known brands were featured, and I received a wide assortment of useful beauty products. K-beauty values need to be taken with a grain of salt- you can always find products cheaper on some website, but they may not be reputable or will take a very long time for international shipping. That being said, I feel like I got a great deal for the cost of the box, and my value estimates total $67.01

I find that “save $2” coupon so comical.
