Basic Man October 2019 Review

Basic Pale Gray-Blue Tee

This month's T-shirt color is so hard to describe, but it's really nice! I'd say it's like a muted ice blue-gray. It looks very similar to the stripes in the socks (pictured further down) but just a paler version of that color. It's nice and will go with almost anything and since it is so light, it will make a great undershirt, too.

The shirts are a 60/40 cotton/poly blend that comes pre-washed and my husband ends up wearing these a lot since they are so comfortable.

Green and Gray Striped Socks

I love the colors in these socks! Again we have that muted gray with a tinge of blue that looks so nice next to the seafoam green. These are a nice quality sock made from 80% combed cotton, 17% polyester, and 3% elastic and they feature the Basic Man logo on either side.

Here they are on. My husband finds them comfortable and liked the colors this month a lot, too!

Ice Blue Boxer Briefs

This month's underwear color is another one that is hard to describe! The color is definitely a little more blue-green than the socks and shirt, but it still fits within the color scheme. These underwear are so soft and silky and my husband finds them to be very comfortable. While he gets to wear them, there is still a perk in it for me...they include a "destroy by" date meaning I can actually toss these when it's time instead of "accidentally" ripping open one of the holes his underwear seem to develop.

Verdict: This month's Basic Man goodies came in some unique colors that my husband and I enjoyed. It is so nice to get a set of quality basics delivered to our door each month for $19.99 plus free shipping! Not only does it save us a trip to the store, but my husband gets some fun styles and incredibly comfortable underwear to wear.

To Wrap Up:

Can I still get this box if I sign up today? The monthly shipments won't always be the same items as mine - so you can order anytime.

I am a homeschooling mom to 4 kids; 1 girl and 3 boys. While I have been reviewing boxes since 2018 and I love the luxury of trying new products, I'm also balancing it out by dabbling in a little bit of homesteading, too. We now have 4 chickens and a rabbit and my sourdough starter is going strong! I love learning about new brands and sharing the great things I find with others in hopes that they find something new to love or to fit their needs!

Hi. I am interested for my teenage boys, but it doesn’t seem to have a choice for briefs (none in my family like boxer-briefs) in the subscription line up. Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks much.

I believe they only offer boxer-briefs at this time. They are incredibly soft and comfortable though (according to my husband), so maybe your boys would be open to trying something new?

My husband LOVES this subscription!! The shirts are super soft and he says the underwear are very comfy. I adore the socks he gets. I think this is a fabulous monthly subscription!!

I feel like this would be a great sub for my boys when they go off to college.

That’s a great idea!

I subbed this last year when my son was a freshman and he loved it! Asked me to resub for this year, too. I do the 6-month sub because of the logistics of address changes at the end of the school year.

I’m sure your sons would enjoy this and they can never get too many new T’s, undies, or socks as college washer/dryers “eat” them, I’m told… 😀

Why would underwear have a destroy by date? Fabric doesn’t expire like food does, and I find my undies last way longer than a year or two if I wash them normally and sanitize them every so often

Amy

Okay I’m really confused, why would underwear have a destroy by date? Mine get sanitized semi-regularly and otherwise get chucked when they develop holes. Why would fabric have an expiration?

Because a lot of men will keep things that they love forever. I mean forever. Doesn’t matter how beat up they get they still hang on to them. A destroy by date is a great idea for these types of men.

Haha, yes! Exactly, Katie! My husband is one of those men. 😂

I get this sub for my husband. The color of the tshirt and underwear this month is really unique and you are so right! It’s really hard to describe. We’ve said it’s kind of a silvery grayish blue.

My only complaint is that they don’t pay any attention whatsoever to the season. The color choices are all really random. This month seemed like a very Spring-like palette and not something fun for October. September’s bright orange underwear (my husband’s new favorite) would have been perfect instead this month with a black Tshirt. In spite of that, my husband always enjoys what he gets. Everything is always nice quality and so soft and comfy. He wears everything he gets all the time.
