I got this and the palette shadows are so stunning that I went and bought the other palette the next day.

Tonymoly is quite popular. For the selection 55 does not seem crazy.

What??? $55 plus shipping? So $62.50 for most of us? That is NUTS. I love Tony Moly but seriously? Even with that promised value it just doesn’t seem worth that price. I’m no snail expert so is that stuff really a life-changing skin transformer or something? I’ve heard good things about it but nothing miraculous that I’m aware of. So…not much more than three sheet masks, two pair of eye masks, basically a pigmented lip balm, TINY tubes of hand cream and a mask…

Wasn’t this box right under $40 plus shipping in previous months? And aren’t they still quite new to the sub box world? I’m not convinced this box has been even close to popular enough to justify and get away with a price increase on an already overpriced box. I think their very first box sold out but after that I don’t recall seeing tons of comments raving about this subscription. At least not on here. Are they charging this much because they’re not making enough off of the boxes because they don’t have enough subscribers? That strikes me as just about the worst strategy imaginable to increase membership. 🤦‍♀️

The eyeshadow palette has a retail value of 71 dollars, doubles as an iPhone case, I assume that is the reason for the increase this month.

That case is for an old phone, and you’d ideally have to wait to use up the palette to use the case, there’s no value in that feature anymore imo

Ahhh…didn’t know that either. Perhaps I need to do a little more research before I run my 👄.
😊

I can’t say that I understand the palette/case price though. Cute concept but eyeshadow isn’t something you normally need to touch up, is it? Eyeliner, powder, lip products, maybe concealer. But eyeshadow? And I’m someone with oily eyelids. There are lots of great formulas now and if you pair them with eyeshadow primers you’re usually good to go unless you’re actually out from sun up to sun down. But if that’s the case you probably need to carry an entire makeup kit anyway.

It’s always a one-time purchase and they don’t have subscription. Free Standard shipping on all orders over $50, so it should be $55 + free shipping.
But I agree that -for me- this month’s bundle doesn’t worth the price. And with lots of those interesting advent calendars and gift sets around…

Oh, okay. I guess I just assumed. It’s good to know they adjust the prices based on the contents I suppose. Like I said, I really am a fan but this set of products definitely doesn’t seem worth the price. But then again I’m not much of a sheet mask fan. I love masks but prefer the old fashioned smear-on-your face kind. I use tools to apply them most of the time so sheet masks are way messier in my opinion.

You’re right about all the calendars and holiday boxes. I’m fighting temptation on several despite already having enough beauty products to open my own store. I’ve always been a beauty product addict, especially around the holidays with all the limited edition sets and gifts with purchase, but once I discovered sub boxes I was done for.

It’s funny because even though I don’t like monthly Glossyboxes I really want their advent calendar. And out of all the fancy, luxe, newer products/brands calendars the GMA one is probably the other one I want most. Neither of them are the particularly exciting by any means. But they both have a good mix of several really solid products I like to have on hand, a few items new to me I’ve been wanting to try and some simple but nice Christmas gift options. I’m holding out for Glossybox to lower the price or release a coupon code. I’m a little nervous about the GMA box since they don’t usually mark their boxes down before they sell out. Not as far as I know anyway.

Anyhow…thanks for clarifying and happy shopping!
