Sephora Favorites: Starry Eyed Ornament Review

These ornaments are so cute and would make a perfect item to keep on hand as a last-minute gift! On the back of our ornament was the product ingredient information for each item. This ornament pouch is also resealable!

Make Up For Ever Artist Color Eyeshadow in Pink Granite, 0.02 oz – Estimated Value $4.25 (buy a 0.08 oz full-size shadow for $17.00)

While this color is called pink granite, I definitely see it as more of a purple-gray color, which suits me much better! I like this color a lot and see me doing my best to use up this whole sample. Although it is a pretty tiny sample at 0.02 oz. I do wish that this came in a nicer container as well, but since I like the color, I’ll let it slide. There was minimal fallout with this one and it didn’t last as long as I’d like, but to be fair, I didn’t use a primer with it when I tried it.

Bobbi Brown Longwear Cream Shadow Stick in Golden Pink, 0.03 oz – Estimated Value $18.00 (Buy a 0.05 oz. full size for $30.00)

I love this shadow stick and I do think that it is definitely long-wearing! It glides on smoothly and blends well and didn’t seem to budge throughout the day. It is more of a light coppery brown color than the shimmering pink peach it is described as, but I thought the color was flattering enough for my skin tone. I love the size of this one and think it will be a great shadow to keep in my travel bag since this feels like a year-round color for me.

Since I thought they would work well together, I first used the Make Up For Ever at the outer corner of my eyes and then blended the Bobbi Brown over the rest of my lid. I was wondering how the cream and powder would blend together and they ended up blending well. This is a subtle, everyday look for me, but for an evening look, I could easily amp up the color at the corners for a more dramatic flair since it is pretty buildable.

Tarte Chrome Paint Shadow Pot in Top Yacht, 0.035 oz – Estimated Value $7.00 (Buy a full size 0.11 oz shadow for $22.00)

This shadow looks so ridiculously chunky and shimmery in the pot, but somehow it has a much smoother consistency when you swipe it on. It still has a good bit of shimmer and it is a true gold color that will be fun for the holidays. There was minimal fallout the first time I tried it, but the second time I felt like I had sparkles all over my face. I may just have to make sure my brush is damp when applying this one!

Here I did a simple look with this swiped across my entire lid and paired with a thicker black mascara, I thought it looked pretty nice and gave just the right amount of shimmer without being too bold. I think if I were to use it wet I could definitely get a pretty bold gold look though.

Here they are swatched. From top to bottom, they are Make Up For Ever, Bobbi Brown, and Tarte.

The Verdict: This kit contained a fun set of shimmering shadows to put the sparkle in your eyes this holiday season! The size of the Bobbi Brown and Tarte shadows were great and the Bobbi Brown was especially ideal for throwing in your bag for touch-ups. The Make Up For Ever shadow was a bit small and awkward in that case, but the color is so pretty and I thought it worked nicely with the other shades. I am estimating a total value of about $29.25 for these which is pretty good for a $15  kit, although definitely a better value if you are able to get free shipping!

To Wrap Up:

Can you get this box if you sign up today? Yes, as of publication, this kit is still available for purchase!

Value Breakdown: This kit cost $20.95 ($15 + $5.95 shipping) and I calculated a total value of $29.25. That means you’re paying approximately the following per item:

  • Make Up For Ever: $3.04
  • Bobbi Brown: $12.89
  • Tarte: $5.02
