Embroidered Tunic – Listed Value $49.00

Right out of the box I was impressed with this tunic. It has so much embroidery and feels really high-quality. It reminds me very much of an old-school Free People sort of top and this speaks to my inner free spirit. The only downside is that I don’t always look great in tunics because my curvy shape needs a little definition when it comes to clothes, and especially tops! I decided to pair it with a long duster sweater to show that it would also easily work for fall and give it a little structure. It is a wee bit low cut (you can see my black bra in the image) but with a plunge nude bra this wouldn’t be an issue at all.

Kate Shore Fine ArtDaydreaming” Print – Listed Value $28.00

This 8 inch by 8 inch giclée art print is of great quality and has such rich and saturated colors! I love the abstract style of this beach scene because you can see Kate’s individual brush strokes and it has so much texture and movement. Each print is hand-numbered from an edition of 500 and signed and dated by Kate. It arrived in a protective clear slip so you can keep it safe while you seek out the perfect frame.

Tallulah ‘Noime’ Bali Bag – Listed Value $79.00

This is the highlight of the box for me personally. I have wanted one of these woven round bags all season but whenever I saw them in stores they felt cheap and fragile. Unlike those commercially mass-produced options, this one is handmade, super sturdy, and features genuine leather accents. The strap is around 49 inches long and was easy to wear crossbody as well as over one shoulder. You can feel how well made it is at first touch! My bag was handmade by Balinese artisans and each purse takes between 3-7 days to complete. I absolutely love the thoughtful design elements chosen for this purse, but especially the focal braided area on the front that exposes the colorful batik lining inside. It also has a handy pocket inside for stashing your smaller essentials. Because this bag has those rich leather accents and a jewel-toned print inside, I plan on wearing it into the fall season. It also came in a thick and protective dust bag for storage, though I might hang this on the wall with my basket collection when not in use. It is that pretty!

Balipura Crystal Infused Healing Mist, 3.4 fl oz – Retail Value $25.00

I love keeping these sorts of mists at work to freshen up my desk space and create good creative vibes. This one smells so heavenly it might just go home instead to use on my sheets. It has notes of champaka, jasmine (a fave of mine), and ylang ylang. It is infused with rose quartz, jade, aventurine, and chrysoprase. A few quick sprays leave my space feeling inviting, calming, and very refreshed.

Handcrafted Wooden Bali Bead Necklace – Listed Value $24.00

This necklace was also handmade in Bali by local artisans. The colors can vary, but I ended up with a brilliant burgundy one that I think is pretty perfect for wearing the tassel trend well into fall. It is lightweight and has no metal, meaning this is an extra special treat for those of us with metal sensitivities. I wore it this past week with a striped Oxford shirt to give a fun twist to a more structured look, but I also loved it with a chunky sweater.

Doucce Freematic Eyeshadow Quad in ‘Island Hopping’ – Retail Value $35.00

Our final item is an eyeshadow palette with some very beach-inspired shades. My favorite is that last pinkish-tan shade because it happens to be absolute perfection over my lid and into my crease for a really effortless eye look. All of these colors were beautifully pigmented and smooth and though this brand isn’t always my fave (it shows up in a LOT of boxes) these colors worked for me.

Verdict: Oceanista was awesome! I really love this box. Everything was of great quality and felt unique in its own way. I was blown away with the quality of the tunic and handbag. Seriously, they are so well made. I also love that they added in a beautiful and archival quality print from an independent artist. I can’t wait to frame it. The beaded necklace was another lovely addition and I love that the color of the thread makes it wearable year-round. The healing mist and totally on-theme eyeshadow palette were just icing on the cake. If you are looking for an ocean-inspired box, this is absolutely one you should add to your list, especially if you love a boho twist. Based on a mix of retail and listed values, this box has a value of around $240, which is great for an $85 quarterly box of such quality.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

                1. I really really really wish Kate Shore Would consider selling the art print on her site, I love it so much! I can not justify purchasing this box (a little too pricey for me at the moment) solely for the art print, I wish they offered a larger discount for this box. Oh well! Thank you for the review ! This looks like a quality box

                  • Nicole, I love that you love the art print so much!! This print was created specifically for Oceanista, so I won’t be selling it in my shop. I do have a couple other prints available online currently, and will be adding some others as we get into the holiday season. You could also reach out to Oceanista and see if they ever plan on selling it or any of the other box items separately! Thanks again, Kate.

                    • Kate,

Wow thank you for your reply!! 🙂
I love all of your items on your website, and am particularly interested in the beautiful hand-painted necklaces, which are absolutely lovely and breathtakingly original and unique. Bonus points: my husband loves them too!
Thank you, also, for the suggestion in contacting Oceanista; I plan to do just that, regarding this beautiful print.
Thank you, again, for your kind response and I cannot wait to receive my necklace!

                    • Kate,
I forgot to ask you, do you accept commissioned art pieces (meaning original works, such as those you have available for sale on the website)? Thank you!

                2. A little too pricey for so many repeats of boho tops and necklaces, mists, etc, that I already have that are so much nicer. It would have to be sent to me at no cost to review.

                3. I love everything in this box but the Doucce palette. Like, whyyyy? Who even buys that brand? A bar of artisan soap would have been better.

                  • I agree that the soap would have actually also fit the theme more too!

                4. Oceanista is the one box I always know I’m going to love every single item in it. I especially love the boho vibe and handmade items. It feels very upscale and worth the cost for sure. The presentation is also spot on and put together with rich attention to detail you feel like you are opening a gift!

                5. I hope you review this box again. I’m not ready to sub yet but I might be after another review!

                6. Aside from the fact that I would expect more than five items in the $96 box (art print doesn’t really count), I would also expect not to see Doucce, that’s been around forever and is a cheap brand made in China. Also, one would expect that the producers of the “crystal infused healing” mist would know how to spell “chrysoprase”.

The necklace in the bag are lovely.

                7. So glad you liked it! I loved creating this painting exclusively for Oceanista and they were so great to work with!

                8. Great review of a great box. Thanks!

                9. That bag is really cute!

                10. What a great box! Tunic looks great on you,I like it paired with a sweater

                  • Thanks Debbie! I am happy I can bring it into fall.

                11. Is the tunic sized? Also if not can you tell us what size you normally wear please. I’m looking to get this box for my mom and possibly me but we are plus sized. Thanks!

                  • You pick the size when you checkout. Their sizes go from Small -3Xl

                  • Oops XS-3Xl

                    • Thank you!

                  • Hey Holly! Anna is right when she mentioned you can select XS-3XL. There was no XL option in this particular tunic (which is what I would have normally requested) and the Oceanista team recommended selecting the 1XL if you generally wear an XL. There are adjustable drawstring in the back, so even though it was a nig oversized, I still could adjust it a little!

                12. Oh, I love everything in this box. I can’t decide if I like the tunic or bag better. Probably the bag since it’s so unique. I like the colors on the inside of it. I’m usually not drawn towards the pricier seasonal boxes but I really like this one.
