We have the Add-On + Customization schedule for the FabFitFun Winter 2019 box!

Select Access Dates:

  • Add-Ons: Nov. 1 - Nov. 5
  • Customization: Nov. 2 - Nov. 5
  • Bill Date: Nov 7

All Access Dates:

  • Add-Ons: Nov. 14 - Nov. 18
  • Customization: Nov. 15 - Nov. 18
  • Bill Date 2: Nov 20
  • Bill Date 3: Nov 27

Starting this Winter, we will be implementing some exciting changes to make your membership experience more efficient and enjoyable. Back in June, we had announced our Long Term Shipping and Billing Improvement Plan 193 based on the feedback we collected from many of you. We are now excited to share these plans being further put into action.

First, starting in Winter, we will be moving to 3 separate billing dates (previously 2). This change will reduce the average time between billing and shipping for each of the groups. It will also help prevent shipping overlap between each group as we will begin shipping only one group at a time. Select Members will be billed and shipped exclusively within the earliest group.

  • Group 1: All Select. This includes APO/FPO/DPO address which will be automatically upgraded to Select status to honor our Active Duty Military. Stay tuned while we continue exploring other ways to verify Military in future seasons.
  • Group 2: Non-Select Members who purchase Add-Ons or add additional items to their Box during Customization and Non-Select Members who live in CA/UK/AK/HI/PR.
  • Group 3: Non-Select members that don’t fall into group 2.

The second notable change is that we’ll be launching 2 separate access windows for Add-Ons and Customization!

Select Access Add-Ons + Customization window will be exclusively for Select members. If you are an active Select member you MUST customize during this window.

All Access Add-Ons + Customization window will open after Select-Access closes. Non-Select members will have the exclusive opportunity to customize their box during this window. During this window, Non-Select members can shop Add-Ons which will ship with their Winter box.

Please note that while Select members do have access to shop Add-Ons in the All Access window, they may only purchase the specified max of the same item between both sales. For example, if a certain product has a max of 3 and a Select member purchased 1 of the product in the Select Access Add-On window, they would only be allowed to purchase 2 of that product in the All Access Add-Ons. They will also be subject to additional shipping fees because their main order would have already begun processing with the earlier shipping group.

What do you think of the new changes?

And if you're a current subscriber, if you upgrade your account to annual by October 29th, you'll get a $10 in free Add-On credit.

For some reason my box shows closed for customization and awaiting shipping already. I’ve not been able to make any selections. Anyone else having this issue?

I see people complaining about select members choosing first. I was a non-select member for 2 years and I never got a bad box. I paid $50 and got anywhere from $250-$350 worth of stuff. If you don’t think you’re getting enough for you money with that alone, please do cancel. You’re being ridiculous. When I realized that I was never going to cancel my membership, I upgraded. I never had a problem with select members getting first dibs. THEY Are paying more money and have paid for full year. Yes, they deserve to get the first pick. If you want that luxury, than pay up front. If you can’t afford $180, then be happy that you’re still getting an excellent deal for $50. Man, people always complaining. Pay or don’t pay, but don’t complain about what you’re getting.

I should clarify, select members aren’t paying more money, they are paying more money up front. It’s a commitment. They’re giving FFF a full year. They should be rewarded.

First winter spoiler is out on the forum y’all

Wow I can’t believe some of the negativity for the boxes. I LOVED my Fall box and especially my Amika flat iron and cute Kate Spade lunch tote! Also, I am a quarterly subscriber and have NEVER received “second best” – I always receive my first picks. Sorry for those of you who are not happy with your choices but you do get to choose 3 items up front – just make sure you choose when the customization opens. Don’t give up on FFF; this is a great service and I feel like I celebrate my birthday 4 times a year! 🙂

I really don’t understand the complaints about select members getting early access. Even if you buy all four boxes for the year, you are only paying $5 more per box than an annual member who prepays and is unable to skip. Most subscriptions will give you an expensive gift and/or a much deeper discount for buying an annual…I think FFF found a pretty good way to give annuals a meaningful perk while keeping costs down.

So basically Fabfitfun is telling you that unless you’re an annual subscriber you will get the leftovers that nobody wanted. They need a just make it annual subscription required and go from there. I cancelled once they started giving annuals early customization. In the long run seasonal members pay more so they shouldn’t be treated like second best.

Agreed I was thinking about coming back but with five kids and paying more money in the long run because I can’t afford to spend that much when I have kids that need things… I didn’t mind doing the add-ons a little bit later and I didn’t mind that we weren’t able to customize as many items although I still think that should have been allowed to be done… however if we’re not even able to really customize our box. Or we’re only allowed to pick out of whatever’s left I guess I definitely wouldn’t want to come back 😭

That’s not how business works. Select members have already paid up front $180, whereas a seasonal member has only guaranteed them $50 and then can cancel. Select members are rewarded for paying in advance. Many companies, subscription or otherwise (like my daughter’s dance studio) offer discounts to people who “pay in full” versus paying month to month.

Emma

you aren’t paying more tho if you decide to cancel..they want to incentivize guaranteed revenue first

I’m anxiously awaiting spoilers for the next box. I’m happy with the faux fur blanket spoiler – I can’t have too many big fuzzy blankets to snuggle up in during our looooong, dark Canadian winters. The summer box was a total win for me, I loved it and will be using many items again over next summer (tote, robe, necklace, etc.) but the fall box was a big bust for me. Aside from the Aveda I really didn’t like it, and things I did like at first, like the salt/pepper mill, which turned out to be unwieldy, awkward, and of lousy quality, I liked for only a short time. All of this to say – I hope they give us a nice box for winter or this will definitely be my last year with them. I’m not an FFF hater, but there are a lot of really fantastic boxes out there that I could be spending that money on.

Daria that faux fur throw has not been confirmed as a spoiler. It was simply msa reader speculation

Reply ButtonReply

Jessica

it wasn’t simply speculation it was in a card/booklet from the fall box and it said that the winter box would contain a faux fur blanket.

Tamara

Faux fur blanket spoiler?? Where did that spoiler come from?

Reply ButtonReply

LB

There was a word puzzle in the booklet from the Fall box and the answer seemed to be “faux fur blanket.” There was a post about it here on August 16.

Tanya

It hasn’t been confirmed. It was speculation due to a stock photo on social media. Not confirmed by the company.

The edit sales have been going down hill but still not fair select gets to do them twice. They should have it spilt even. They already get to go first and pick extra choices. Are they going to replenish items during the second edit sale? This last sale I added the max items but wasn’t impressed and emptied my cart.

Reply ButtonReply

Christy

Right, but the select members *should* get extra perks. That’s the whole point.

I canceled 3 or 4 boxes ago because I have too much products stashed up. FFF needs to fix their stupid web site. I was so fed up with counting down to the Add-on launch and attempting to log on and ………………nothing. They shouldn’t have their site crash EVERY time. It would take sometimes 15+ minutes to finally log on and then all the good stuff (or items I wanted) was sold out already. There are also so many sub boxes now to try.

Reply ButtonReply

Rachel

So glad I cancelled! What I’m seeing now is that that non-select members are going to be further devalued for not paying in advance. So they’ll have the worst add on and customization options and I’m not on board with that. I would rather just get Boxyluxe. I don’t need to pay for a year in order to get all the benefits. I love that non-select members are actually paying MORE per year to be treated like they aren’t valued. Select is garbage everyone should be equal and boxes should ship based on how long you’ve been an active member. I used to love this box but fff needs to pull their heads out of their a**.

Reply ButtonReply

Dawn

I don’t know if I would consider any business model smart if they didn’t give special discounts or treatment to those who pay upfront for a year. Almost every subscription I have uses this model. I don’t see how that devalues you as a customer if you still have access to the same merchandise just at a later date if it is still in stock.

Liz, do you know when are going to be spoilers?

I’m a select member so this works for me. I just need to make sure I set my calendar to remimd me finalize my Add-on cart in time. Winter box is my last box and if it doesn’t wow me I won’t be renewing.

Reply ButtonReply

Kate

We’re only getting 5 days to shop add ons. I’d like to see a little more time. Maybe 7? I know I’m select and can shop again but then I have to pay shipping and I didn’t see what that would cost. It’s bad enough I have to factor in tax since I’m in CA. I always buy way too much and that adds up tax-wise. LOL

Reply ButtonReply

Deirdra

I buy Way too much as well. My shipping is going to be through the roof. I also skipped the fall box and FabFitFun notified me that I can use those funds towards add ons. Hmmmm we work out a deal but I will be slaughtered in shipping’s fees.

Fabfitfun is overall entertaining me for the whole year. Although the winter box is the last box of my annual subscription and I am not renewing it because I am not super felling the last two boxes, I Wish Fff the best for their continue effort. Their CS is the best.

Will this affect new members signing up?

Reply ButtonReply

MissyB

So will any of these changes affect new member sign up? What if I sign up November 28? Will it stay the same it is now for new members signing up?

Reply ButtonReply

Missy

Ok what this message doesn’t address is how it’s going to work for brand new members, I’m guessing it would depend on whether u sign up to be a select or a non select member?? Like they have all these set dates but what if I’m signing up outside of these various dates? Like they have the last billing date as November 27 what if I sign up November 28? So all new members are immediately billed, then u customize following that payment, and they ship in the next couple of days from that? I just wish they would’ve made a note to say how or if there’s gonna be any changes for new members, or is it just gonna stay the same as it is now for new members signing up??

Reply ButtonReply

Amanda

I’m wondering about that too- I just bought an annual subscription for my sister as a gift and want to be able to customize the first box for her but since the annual customization period is over, does that mean I won’t have any choices? I messaged CS about it and will post a follow up here when I hear back.

I’m really happy they’re finally getting things organized, and trying something new. It’s some progress at least.

I haven’t received my fall edit items yet, and I’m super nervous about items not being included like last time…I already got an email stating that one item will be shipped separately, but the last time that happened the separate item they were supposedly shipping to me was out of stock, soon we will see…I’m really hoping this sale runs smoother than last time. On top of that, 2 other items were not included in my package that I had no notification of, and one damaged item, and another of the missing items was out of stock as well. It was my first horrible experience with FFF, so I’m hoping this time goes much smoother, and all of the items I purchased are included this time.

I received an email and the sheet where they say what’s included in the box was confusing, and has me most nervous about it because 2 of the items that should be included don’t have a number next to them (they mark 1 or 0 to show what items are included). I haven’t received a separate shipping email for those items, so here’s to hoping…
