  1. This sounds like a silly thing, but the packaging of the last mystery “box” I received is a big reason why I don’t think I’ll order again. I’ve bought other mystery boxes from different subs that have come very thoughtfully packed. Even though I knew I was getting leftovers, they didn’t feel like leftovers, know what I mean?

However, the Bombay & Cedar mystery box came in a cardboard envelope with apparently zero thought given to presentation. It gave the impression of someone opening the junk drawer, dumping in a few items and shipping the envelope off. Again, I realize this probably sounds rather superficial, but it definitely made me think twice about ordering from Bombay & Cedar again. I buy sub boxes because they are usually special treats to receive and open, and this didn’t feel all that special.

  2. The price to RV ratio is not very generous for the old stock of left overs!

  3. While I tend to like Bombay, their mystery boxes have been a disappointment for me. Cheapest, useless items they could not get rid of.

  4. The last box was not worth it to me. Some of the items I received were a face serum so old that the rubber stopper cap had fused to the glass bottle, & some sunflower seeds that expired literally days after I received my package.

Maybe these boxes will be great because they got rid of all their old junk then, but I’m out!

  5. I actually liked the last mystery box that I received. I didn’t do the last one, but the one before and loved it. I am doing it again.

  6. What the heck spring water in a spray and it wasnt good its a hoxs just another sounds to good and its awful dont do it

  7. Overall value and what was included – a beautiful travel case designed for travelling with your oils with compartments sized to hold small oil bottles and nothing else – nice case but I don’t travel with 30 bottles of oil so worthless, a jade roller also worthless, the usual oil and candle and a few other things.

  8. I was happy with both previous mystery boxes I got. Not sure if I’ll get this one since I’ve been a subscriber.

  9. Looks like you can’t use points and the discount both. The last mystery box I received was disappointing, maybe with the request it will be better.

    • Same here! Fell for a mystery box from them once. Never again.

      • I’m curious. To those who didn’t like it – What was it about the box you didn’t like? Overall value or…?

        • My mega mystery had another useless oil bag and no essential oils to go with it (seems they can’t get rid of these bags), a candle (OK), a macrame plant hanger kit, a body sponge, almonds, calming water drops that were about to expire and taste gross, an ill fitting visor that came rolled up and never quite unrolled…. overall, a mish mash of detritus and left overs that they could not get rid of. I won’t get another because I couldn’t give away the stuff either!!

        • People seemed to overall dislike the items. However, all the items have been in previous boxes, so are not surprises. If you don’t like the sort of items they put in the regular boxes, you aren’t going to like the mystery boxes. They don’t claim to put in new items. I have had more hits than misses in my mystery boxes and anything I didn’t have a use for has gone pretty quickly on the swap.
