Stitch Fix Kids August 2019 Review

Stitch Fix Kids Boys return envelope and stickers

In every Stitch Fix Kids box, they include a pre-paid shipping envelope for returns.

Stitch Fix Kids Boys info sheet activity page

I think it is cute that the information sheet has a maze on it for your kid, plus stickers, and the inside flaps of the shipping box have some activities and ideas for how to play with the box, too!

Stitch Fix Kids Boys info sheet price list

Here's the item list of the clothing they selected for my son, and their individual prices. The items total $192 but with my $20 styling fee applied, and the keep-everything 25% off discount, the total adds up to be $124.00.

Stitch Fix Kids Boys info sheet item descriptions

The reverse of that card shows photos of each item (which I love because it makes it easy to reference the pricing sheet).

Stitch Fix Kids Boys blue sandals

Cotton On Kids Twin Stripe Slide - Cost to Keep $12

My son instantly loved these slide shoes! I think they're cute and well made and would have been perfect swim/beach shoes this summer. Unfortunately, I just don't think I can justify buying another pair of sandals for him right now when summer is so close to ending. Other than that, they fit well and were spot-on for my son's taste.

Stitch Fix Kids Boys stay awesome tee

KID DANGEROUS Maximo Short Sleeve Graphic Tee - Cost to Keep $12

This tee feels good quality, but it hits my tall son a little short on the torso. It also does seem a little basic, too, compared to the kinds of items we have kept from Stitch Fix instead of buying at a store. I do have to say it goes really cute with the shorts below, though!

Stitch Fix Kids Boys mint shorts

Andy & Evan Frank Printed French Terry Functional Drawstring Short - Cost to Keep $18

I love a good quality soft short, and the color of these is great. I love the bright and bold hue but I'm not sure that we would reach for them except to pair with the "Stay Awesome" tee that totally matches! It's great that they sent them together because I think the outfit is so cute.

Stitch Fix Kids Boys airplane tee

Joules Short Sleeve Applique Graphic Tee - Cost to Keep $18

This tee is so soft. It's a thicker knit material and feels like it's really comfy. It also has this stitched-on applique of an airplane pulling a banner that velcros closed, or flaps open to reveal "the sky is the limit." Cute! It's also a good length for my son, too.

Stitch Fix Kids Boys striped shorts

Joules Buccaneer Knit Pull-On Short - Cost to Keep $20

I mentioned with the previous pair of shorts that I'm not sure they're versatile enough to grab regularly. I feel the same way about these. I love how they look paired with this tee! They're cute and comfy, but I feel like I would mostly only pair them with this tee so I'd want to buy them together.

Stitch Fix Kids Boys space themed tee

Andy & Evan Asher All Over Print Space Tee - Cost to Keep $14

We love space-themed items over here, so I usually get at least one in each box. I like the style of this tee a lot, and I think the fit is best for him out of all the tees they sent this month.

Stitch Fix Kids Boys jogger 2 pack, grey pair

Flapdoodles Roger Two-Pack Solid Printed Joggers - Cost to Keep $28

We love these joggers! They're a two-pack of a grey pair and a black dinosaur printed pair. They're super soft, especially on the inside. The fit is perfect, and bottoms like this are some of his favorites to wear, especially through the fall.

Stitch Fix Kids Boys shark print button down

Andy & Evan Perry Short Sleeve Button Up Woven - Cost to Keep $22

This is one of my very favorite pieces this month! This shark printed button-up shirt is made out of really nice fabric. It feels hard to wrinkle and like it breathes well and keeps cool. Gideon loves the sharks on it, too.

Stitch Fix Kids Boys jeans

Flapdoodles Arturo Slim Straight Knit Pull On Denim Pant - Cost to Keep $24

These jeans are great, too. I love the elastic waist because it really helps the fit. Gideon is tall and most jeans that are long enough for him are big around the waist. Plus, elastic is just easier for him when he goes to the bathroom on his own. These have a nice, straight fit and he said he liked them. I'm a sucker for a solid pair of jeans for my kids.

Stitch Fix Kids Boys salmon colored hoodie

Threads 4 Thought Essentials Zip Fleece Hoodie - Cost to Keep:$24

Gideon doesn't have any tops or layers in this kind of salmon color, so it caught my eye when we pulled it out of the box. The material is soft, warm, and the zipper really worked like butter (I'm so tired of cheap zippers on kids sweaters that are tricky for him to pull up by himself). I think this will be a great layering piece through the fall and winter for him.

The Verdict: This month's Fix from Stitch Fix Kids for Gideon was great! Everything really fit well and was right on for his style and what he likes to wear. I think it's time for me to ask them to stop sending shorts since summer will be ending soon and I don't think it's the right time to invest in new pairs of them right now. That being said, I really did think the outfits they sent with the shorts were really cute. I feel like a broken record when I say I'm happy with the quality of everything Stitch Fix sends us, but it's true; the pieces we've kept over the months have held up very well. I think the prices are pretty reasonable for the quality, too. It's nice that they send so many items per box - even if you just want to pick one item so you don't lose out on your styling fee, it's not hard to find at least one thing to love without spending much more than you already have with your fee.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Stitch Fix curates its boxes based on each individual’s preferences as well as what’s available. What you get might not be the same as what we got, but you will probably get something that fits your child's style and size even better than the looks above! Sign up and see what they choose for you!

Value Breakdown: This box cost $20 (styling fee) with free shipping and returns. The total value of the items inside this month is $192 according to Stitch Fix's invoice sheet. The invoice lists the cost of each individual item, and if I were to keep all of them then I get a 25% discount. The $20 styling fee for the box is applied to the purchase no matter how many items you keep and, in this case, it would bring the total down to $124 if I kept everything. That's a total discount of about 34%.
