    The items that customer service told me were in this bag are wrong. I do apologize for this but thank God we are not getting those items! Customer Service told me that they are working on the issue now. 😊

  2. So customer service just told me that this is what is in box 871 and it’s the exact same things that’s in box 507, sigh. I wish Sephora could be like every other makeup sub and give you spoilers.

    • I’m Box 871 too, I really hope that that is what we are getting in our box because that would be a nearly perfect box for me but I’m not going to get my hopes up since they’ve told two different box #s that that is their contents. I wish they would do spoilers like every other beauty sub box too, it’s so nice with Ipsy, Birchbox and Allure

      • I agree, this would be a dream box for me! I think it’s crazy that they won’t tell you about something that you already bought and paid for, I don’t understand the secrecy.

    • That’s one of my boxes, thanks! I’ve gotten that Clinique 100 times from Play, so that’s a bummer.
      I’m happy for the A+ and Glamglow toner at least. I have 5 of the 8ml pump bottles and 4 of the 5ml tubes of A+ hoarded from Allure & Sephora yet. So I’ll welcome another tube.
      I’ll use the blow dry cream despite getting that 100 times and rarely blow drying my hair.
      The lip pencil will get traded and the setting spray I got in ipsy and still never used, so that will go on the trade pile as well.
      My other box is 913, so I’m hoping that strawberry scrub is included in that and no more Clinique or Algenist. No more Mascaras either, I got 2 last month 😩

  3. Yikes, box 905 looks horrible! I’m hoping that 871 is much better!

    • Yes, I am not to happy about my box. (905) This box has to be the worst one! I checked the color of the Sephora Collection Ultra Shine lip gloss and it is pink. I hate pink. It is one of the colors that is on sale right now on the Sephora App. The perfume sample is one that I have gotten before, it stinks! I had to throw the last sample away because Nobody wanted it!, I could not give it away! This whole box is a joke! I am seriously thinking about cancelling and going to another subscription! How can I not get any of the three spoilers that I was supposed to get and some people are getting all three! What a bunch of crap!

      • It’s definitely not fair to advertise these great products to lure you in and then not get them. I’ve received that Sephora lip gloss in 3 separate boxes and I will not be happy if I get it again, it’s not even shiny or pigmented.

        • I promise she got #905 wrong. That cover fx, pink Sephora gloss, fireplace perfume, etc. was in a box from 3 years ago. They wouldn’t give you different products from their video…I promise.

          • No, I did not get it wrong! That is what customer service told me I was getting in my box. (905) They send duplicate items all the time to me!

          • In fact when I contacted Customer service they said that it was unfortunate that I didn’t get at least one item from the spoilers. Trust me, I have been contacting customer service over this months box. I wish that the products that they said was in my box were wrong but I have talked to three customer service representatives and the products that they said I was getting have all been the same.

        • Annie does not know what I know about this box, i don’t care if it was from three years ago, I am still getting the products. I have talked to customer service 3 times now and all three tell me that is what is in box #905, my box. I know, I don’t want any of the Sephora lipglosses either!😠 huh!

          • I have been a member since January of this year. I did not know that box was from three years ago. Really? I have gotten the perfume before in a previous bag but if this box is from three years ago than I am going to be really upset. I just don’t understand it. I am going to contact Customer Service again if this is seriously a box from three years ago!

          • Please google November 2016 Sephora play box and see subscription additions review!! Same exact items Sheri said she was told she would get. Hmmm…doesn’t seem like CS has it right. RIGHT?!

          • Ok, so I contacted Customer service again and she said that the items that they told me were incorrect and they are working on this issue now. So thank God! I am glad you said something about it. I told her that the items in this bag is the same as November 2016. So, something was not right in there system.

    • Hey, I think I have 905. It’s the last 3 numbers of the item number right? That’s what I’m looking at. Anyway, do you know what’s in the box? I haven’t gotten any emails or hints yet personally.

        • No- those exact contents were of a box three years ago. November 2016 I think. It’s definitely not what you will receive. Keep hope alive! Haha.

          • That is what three customer service representatives and told me, hopefully they are wrong!

          • I think they’re wrong. I hope you get a great box…without that nasty perfume! Haha. I’ve heard CS can give out wrong info instead of accurate stuff if you call in. Who knows.

        • I hope you get a good box you love. I can see why it would upset you to get the products you were told. I’ve heard CS reps sometimes tell people the wrong info sometimes. I hope that’s the case. 🙂

          • It would upset me because I have received three out of the six items before and the lip gloss is a color that I hate and it is one that is on sale now that nobody wants. Also, I did not get any of the three spoilers that we were supposed to be getting at least one of. I have a lot to be upset about, I had repeat items last month also.

    • The items that I was told #905 playbox has in it, is not correct. Customer service told me that the items that I was told that we were getting was not right and they are working on this issue now. Sorry about the confusion but at least we are not getting those items!😊

  6. I subscribed to Play last year for a couple of months. I just resubscibed in August. Hoping to get some brands that I’ve been wanting to try that aren’t in the Ipsy Glam Bag. I’m going to give it a couple of months to see what happens. I’m not going to concern myself with sneak peeks. Will be surprised when it arrives. My experience last year was that I would receive an email telling me my bag had shipped and what was inside. Then, when the bag arrived, it was nothing like the email.

    • My first three Playboxes were completely different than what it said I was getting, but the last 4 boxes have been accurate. That is why I don’t get my hopes up when I see what I am supposed to get. It is so dissapointing to get some other product when you think you are getting something you are excited about.

      • Yes, I think I’m going to let myself be surprised so I won’t be disappointed. It might be fun.

  7. Do they still send out a spoiler every month to let you know at least one type item you will receive for that month? I just resubscribed. The products lately have been amazing to me, but I’m sure I won’t get the variation I want, which is why I cancelled in the first place. Willing to give it another try though. For $10, it’s worth it. I’m 871…does anyone know the contents of that box yet? I am just really hoping to get the Sunday Riley and Glamglow. If I just get those two things, I will be happy!

    • I’m Box 871 too but haven’t seen any spoilers yet. I really want the Sunday Riley and GlamGlow products too so hopefully we get them or at least one of them. Last month was my first month and I didn’t get a spoiler email but customer service told me I’d get an email with spoilers this month so we’ll see

      • Good luck getting a email with spoilers on it. The last two months I have not received a email or anything in my inbox on the Sephora App, so don’t get to excited about seeing spoilers! Hope you get a good first box! 😊

    • They do send out the spoilers telling one kind of item you will be recieving for that month but the last couple of months me and a few other people that I have been chatting with on the Sephora App, have not received a email or nothing in our inboxes about any spoilers for our Playboxes, so I am not sure if you will receive any spoilers but you can go on the App and look at the Sephora PLAY group and usually something is posted about 4 products that is being featured in the Play boxes for the month or at least some kind of spoiler. Also, you can look up on My Subscription Addiction and see spoilers too. Hope this helps!

  8. I never trust the hints anymore because I can be shown one thing and end up with something completely different. I think I have box 905? If anyone knows anything about it please let me know if you’re interested. I’d appreciate it 😌

  9. I am kinda over Play because the last 3 boxes they said I get products I’ve been dying to try and get excited then I’d get a completely different box.

    CS told me this morning (:

    • I tried to email CS to tell me what was in my box, and she told me that they don’t have a product list yet for August and to check back on the 15th. This was part of the reason why I cancelled. CS would never tell me the contents of my box, but several other people would get their box details.

      • I’ve talked to customer service several times last month and once this month and they will never tell me what’s coming in my box either. They always say we have to keep it a surprise, I even asked why they tell some people and not others and she said “I’m sorry if other customer service representatives are spoiling the surprise but we cannot tell you what’s coming in your box.” That really pissed me off last month because it doesn’t seem fair that they pick and choose who they tell spoilers to and who they won’t tell spoilers to. I’ve given up at this point and just wait for someone with the same box number to post spoilers when customer service inevitably tells one of them what’s coming in it. I completely get cancelling because of that, it definitely crossed my mind.

        • I just emailed customer service back after telling me that they can’t tell me either. I have not even been getting the spoilers for the Play box. Usually I get the one about one product that I will receive and then the four products that they show, telling us that we will be recieving at least one of the products. I told customer service about not receiving any spoilers and all I got was the automated answers system! And them telling me that if I don’t receive any spoilers by the time my bag ships than I can email them back and they will tell me. WHAT? I will know what is in my box by then. I also told them that was not fair that some people know and others have no idea, like us! I swear, if my box has crappy items this month, like it did last month, I am canceling! I am beyond mad right now!

      • It bothers me so much too!!! I was shocked when they told me but I think I figured out a trick!!! This time I just asked what letter my box was and they just told me the contents! All the other times I directly asked what was in the box and 9x/10 they wouldn’t tell me lol!

        • Im going to try that! I’d love just once for them to tell me what I’m getting lol

      • Oh my gosh same here! I called yesterday and the representative told me the same exact thing, about ‘not having the product list in yet’ and that they don’t even know what’s in August. But then she sounded like she was shying away politely that she cannot tell me. I thought that was all strange since we clearly see that other representatives are telling other callers! It’s interesting lol. BUT if anyone does get lucky and get spoilers for their box numbers please keep sharing!! I love always checking this blog haha <3 (I am box 871)

    • So some people will get all three items (Sunday Riley, Nars and Glamglow) while others end up with none? That hardly seems fair. (not blaming you, Samantha). I’ve noticed the tendency of Sephora to tell you what you are supposedly getting and then you get some other products in your actual bag.

    • I just got off the phone with CS and she said I’m getting all the same items as Samantha. I told her that my box number was 871 and someone already posted they were receiving the same items with box 507. She said it just depends on your profile not necessarily the number of your box. I asked her for sure that I would be receiving these items and she said yes?!?

      • My box # is 871 too, I really really hope I’m getting the same products as you. I would absolutely love everything in that box! I talked to customer service yesterday and they told me they hadn’t started fulfilling the orders yet so they couldn’t say for sure what anyone was getting until around the 15th.

        • I think you just really have to suck up to the CS rep. That’s what I did and it worked for me lol!

        • Go under your recent orders on the Sephora website and it’s the last three numbers of your item number. The app doesn’t show me.

  11. I do not want that mascara. I’ve had a mascara in my box every month since I signed up. Problem is, I DONT USE MASCARA.

  12. I would love the version shown above box! I am sure I won’t get it but it would be nice! I have looked at my order number In my account and it never matches to anything. The only thing that I know is when my box shops and I look on the App and it tells me what letter the box is, like last month it was box B. It has been E, the last several months. I don’t know where everybody is getting there box numbers because I can’t find mine.

    • That’s weird, because I can only see my box number, but not box letter. I’m on desktop though so that could be why.

      • I’ve never seen a box letter either and I use both the website and the app

      • Yeah, it could be. The last 2 months is when I started seeing the letter to my box, before I only knew the letter of my box because it is on our Playboxes when we get them.

  13. Aging skincare box would be awesome for this aging chick!!! Box #889 for me:) If anyone finds spoilers I would love to know what this box will include.

  14. Are they doing 6 deluxe samples now instead of 5 and a “bonus” ? Cus this variation has 6. Just curious, they totally should do this, their samples are tiny!!!

    • They should totally have a full sized “sephora” product monthly! How are they not doing this yet?!

  16. I guarantee I get the primer and mascara because that’s all Sephora ever sends me. Sometimes I get TWO primers in the same box.

    • I feel this comment so hard. The boxes with the primers and mascaras must be most common because that’s always what I get too. Also I will never get excited about makeup removers. And if I see any Drunk Elephant spoilers, I know they will never, ever be in my box. I should just cancel, but I can’t completely kill my hope that next month will work out!!

  17. Alright Play you’ve got my attention again.

    I would resubscribe if I was guaranteed this box, but I do think it’s a little messed up you’re doing spoilers with “guaranteed to get at least one of these” and this box has ALL THREE of those spoiled items. What I guarantee is the other eight variations or however many it is will have only one of these items, maybe two if they’re lucky. And this box will be a very uncommon variation probably. I so wish Play would have no variations, this box game me FOMO every month and got me more upset than it should for a dang sub box. I would love for someone to tell me that they’ve changed, I know I’m speaking of the past, but I hung in there for 2 years so I feel like I really tried. There was only 1 or 2 out of 24 months that I got what I really wanted, I think gambling has better odds lol.

    • I’m 871 and 913
      Both profiles are exactly the same except 913 has my real birth year as 1980 and 871 has my mother in law’s birth year 1952 (I took over an account I made to gift her play a while back)
      Both profiles are blonde/medium combo skin w/ acne & aging.
      I’d be happy with a skin care only box

      • I’m only a few years older than you, and I also appear to be getting 871 based on my order’s item number. I wonder if Sephora thinks I’m my mom? 🙂

        • I really don’t think it is going to matter with your age. I am 21 and a friend of mine is 52 and we got the exact same bag. Our profiles are completely different too. Hair, eye and skin color are different also. I have found out that it is honestly a random pick, on which bag you get. Our profiles don’t mean nothing. I have gotten products that I have marked RARELY on multiple times. It is to the point that if it was not for the add on and choose a product every month, I would cancel my subscription.

          • Sorry, I was thinking of my Ipsy subscription.🙃 Sephora Play is basically the same as far as to what bag you will get. They randomly select our Play Box as well. It don’t have nothing to do with age either. I have found out that filling out our profiles is really a waste of time.

      • Are you basing off the last few digits of the item number? If so, that’s what mine is…i’m curious as to what i’ll get…i just resubscribed last month after cancelling for about 6 months…

        • Yes, this is only my second month with the play subscription but everyone I’ve asked said your box number is the last three digits of your item number

          • Where do you see the item number at? All I have found is the order number and it is not even close to one of the box numbers that I have seen people say that they have. I never can find the item number.

          • If you go to the Sephora website and go under recent orders you should be able to see an item number. My recent orders never show up on the website so I always have to do the customer service live chat and ask them for my item number

          • Thank you! The item number don’t show up on my app but I just googled Sephora and looked up my order history and it it showed my item number. According to that I should be recieving box 809. Have not seen no spoilers on that box yet, hope it is a good box!

  21. I’d be quite pleased with this variation. I subscribed to this when it first began but after being disappointed month after month and seeing other versions that I loved I left. For a long time I had zero FOMO because most products were older/repeats or things I had sampled through regular Sephora shopping. Then several months ago I started seeing newer and better spoilers. I resubscribed for June and it and July brought great boxes. Much better than before. Unfortunately I didn’t think about it and just readjusted my profile due to some recent skin changes. Knowing my luck I probably just cheated myself out of the good box streak. Hopefully I’m just paranoid and August will be as good as they have been. Fingers crossed for the Nars pencil (finally in a different color) or the Nudestix, the Fresh scrub and the Glamglow toner. The SR would be nice but I don’t want to push it. 😄

  22. I wouldn’t subscribe to this again (I always get bad variations), but I LOVED when they had the boxes on sale recently and you could pick the exact version you wanted! Will def buy when they do that again!

    • Not until your box delivers, at least for me ugh.

    • Check on reddit sephora play or the sephora app under community. They give out box numbers and spoilers usually early to mid month. I wished I would’ve skipped last month after the first spoilers. I gave away majority of the products. I skipped this month and after seeing the spoilers I have no regrets at all.

  25. I’m loving these spoilers! If I was picky, the only thing I don’t really want is the algenist, id try but dont have good luck with their products. Everything else so far, I’d be excited to try!
