Ohlolly Discovery Kit IV Review

Ohlolly is an online store dedicated to bringing you the best of Korean skincare. They offer "discovery kits" every so often for $10 + shipping and this one is the fourth in the series. It was curated around the latest guest in their "Ohlolly Goes" YouTube series, Grace, who is a busy mom and cites signs of aging as her main concern.

Ohlolly Discovery Kit IV Review

Pyunkang Yul Nutrition Cream, 1.5 mL - Estimated Value $0.53 (Buy 100 mL for $35.00)

The first sample isn't listed as an item on the product page, so I'll chalk it up to a bonus. The packet probably has enough for two uses of this light cream which boosts hydration in the skin rather quickly without feeling greasy.

Heimish All Clean Balm, 5 mL x3 - Estimated Total Value $2.38 (Buy 120 mL for $19.00)

I am not super into cleansing balms, but I have to admit that I love these little travel sizes. There is enough in each tub for at least three applications so the three they included should last a lengthy trip. I used a metal spatula to scoop out a dime-size amount of balm into the palm of my hand and added just a little water to get a milky fluid going. I then massaged it into my face to remove makeup and dirt from the day. My skin not only felt clean, but it didn't feel dry at all and restored any moisture I might normally lose. I really enjoy this product, which surprised me!

Heimish All Clean Green Foam pH 5.5, 30 mL - Estimated Value $2.27 (Buy 5.29 oz for $12.00)

Ooh- this is my favorite product from the box. The gel turns into a foam when mixed with water and rubbed onto the skin. This one made me feel even cleaner than the balm and the main thing I noticed is how gentle it is! While they say this cleanser is for all skin types, it's great for sensitive skin and is specially formulated to maintain a healthy 5.5 pH balance. Big fan of this one!

Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner, 30 mL - Estimated Value $3.60 (Buy 100 mL for $12.00)

I haven't been using toners that require a cotton pad in a while and prefer to use spray essences since it's just a bit quicker. This one is made of 91.3% milk vecht root extract which is apparently packed with skin-beneficial betaine and minerals. I'm certainly curious to use this for a prolonged amount of time to see if it yields the anti-inflammatory and antioxidant results it promises. Again, this small size if just perfect for travel.

Huxley Anti-Gravity Cream, 7 mL - Estimated Retail Value $6.72 (Buy 50 mL for $48.00)

I was immediately impressed with how ridiculously soft this thick cream feels as well as how it makes my skin feel. It oozes luxury and I've been using it at night as well as the morning without forgetting to slather it on my neck as well. The soft scent really creates a lovely experience. It contains 51% Sahara prickly pear cactus extract along with shea butter, olive oil, and gardenia Florida fruit extract among others. This one is really tempting me to buy a full-size.

Benton Fermentation Eye Cream, 10 g - Estimated Retail Value $9.00 (Buy 30 g for $27.00)

I'm sure I've admitted it before, but I just can't get into eye creams. They all promise to lessen dark circles and depuff but it's hard for me to see results because I'm so impatient. This eye cream is made with Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate, Bifida Ferment Lysate, EGF and Ceramide which are supposed to help with signs of aging and make eyes brighter. While I haven't noticed immediate results, I've been enjoying the ritual of dabbing this thick yet lightweight cream under my eyes twice a day and I find the applicator perfect to deliver the right amount to my fingertip. Only time will tell.

Verdict: I just loved trying out the new-to-me Korean skincare brands in this box! Ohlolly put together a great routine from beginning to end that hits all the major steps. I am especially into the foam cleanser as well as the anti-gravity cream and will continue to use the eye cream! The total value of this box is around $24.50 which exceeds the $16.95 ($10 + $6.96 shipping) cost of the box. More importantly to me, I discovered some great new skincare and have sizes perfect for travel.

I wish I had purchased this. I look at this site (more than) once a day but somehow still missed it.

Hi Marne, when using a Korean toner whether spray or drop I pour it onto my hand and pat it in to the skin. This way I don’t waste the liquid that remains in the cotton ball. Try it and you’ll make your toner last longer!

Since msa reviews one time boxes, have you considered reviewing the eight saints introductory box? They don’t do sub boxes, but have all of their womens skincare products in one $10 sample box. Same deal with the Mens skincare line from the same company, Brickell. Im curious about the box but havent ordered it yet.

I got one based off a recommendation on R.eddit. It’s so cute, and all the samples are only good for a couple uses. I haven’t tried it yet, I was thinking of giving it to a friend who also loves her some skincare.

That’s where I heard about it too, just haven’t seen their products pop up in any other boxes or review sites though. Im always curious about new brands.

This box has 2 of my favorite brands : Heimish & Huxley. I’ve been using theHeimish cleansing balm for years and it’s my absolute favorite on the market. Plus it’s wayyy cheaper than Farmacy and has great ingredients. And the Huxley anti-gravity cream is so thick and perfect for winter. Plus it kinda smells like fresh cut grass to me so in the winter months it’s really nice to be able to smell spring, hahaha

Cleansing balms should be rubbed onto dry skin to emulsify and then you add water to remove. Then you use the second cleanser in the box to actually clean your face. Cleansing balms trap pollutants and sunscreen and makeup, but you need to actually wash all that off your face with a face wash, so always use them together 😊

Ahhh- good call out. Thanks, Sabrina! I’ll be sure to do that in the future. Makes more sense!
