New Beauty Fast Fixes box

The Beauty Report Box is a limited edition box from NewBeauty that is usually released once a quarter. It features some of the favorite brands included in the summer issue of Beauty Report, and all of the products have won an award of some kind. If you aren’t familiar, The Beauty Report is a part of the NewBeauty Test Tube brand, which MSA readers voted one of the Best Beauty Subscription Boxes of 2019! (This is a single-purchase box and will not start a subscription.)

FYI - this is a review of the Fast Fixes box, which is still available for purchase!

Here is the info sheet for the products included.

New Beauty Fast Fixes amika

amika Reset Pink Charcoal Scalp Cleansing Oil, 6.7 fl oz — Full Size! Retail Value $25

I love amika, so I am always stoked to find full-size products from the brand in subscription boxes. This cleansing oil is designed to remove product buildup without stripping your scalp, and key ingredients include pink clay and charcoal. I was impressed that this didn't dry out my scalp the way many scalp purifiers do, and I feel like as a whole my hair was a bit softer after using this a few times. Plus, the tip of this makes it easy to apply to targeted areas on your scalp.

New Beauty Fast Fixes avene

Eau Thermale Avène Thermal Spring Water, 5 fl oz — Retail Value $14

A mini version of this came in a recent Allure box, and I am happy to have the bigger size! This is a hydrating facial mist that is designed to soothe irritated or stressed skin, and I have definitely become the person who carries facial mists in their purses for mid-day pick me ups.

New Beauty Fast Fixes eucerin 2

Eucerin Roughness Relief Spot Treatment, 2.5 oz — Retail Value $6.49

When I am stressed, my arms itch. Or, even if they don't itch, I scratch them anyway. Thanks to a lovely thing called the Bar Exam, there has been a lot of stress in my life lately, and as such lots of arm scratching. Now that the internet knows all about my scratching tendencies when I am stressed, this spot treatment is perfect. I only need a tiny bit to cover my elbows and the back of my forearms, and this performed double duty at both soothing dry skin and soothing a scratch or two.

New Beauty Fast Fixes FAB 1 New Beauty Fast Fixes FAB 2 New Beauty Fast Fixes FAB 3

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair BarriAIR Cream, 1.5 fl oz — Full-Size! Retail Value $30

This is one of the products I was most excited about trying- it is decently a new releasee from First Aid Beauty, and it has a really fun whipped texture that resembles a cloud! This has ingredients like glycerin, colloidal oatmeal, licorice root extract, and hyaluronic acid, and I have enjoyed using this as my evening moisturizer.

New Beauty Fast Fixes hello 1 New Beauty Fast Fixes hello 2

Hello Naturally Whitening Fluoride Toothpaste, 4.7 oz — Full-Size! Retail Value $4.99

I have multiple full-sized tubes of Hello toothpaste thanks to NewBeauty, but I don't mind- I never considered myself the type to have a favorite toothpaste brand, but here we are. This has fluoride, tea tree oil, and coconut oil, and the mint flavor isn't overly aggressive.

New Beauty Fast Fixes klorane

Klorane Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk, 3.2 oz — Full-Size! Retail Value $20

I have tried this dry shampoo before, and I like it. It doesn't leave white residue on my dark hair, and I also like that it doesn't leave my hair feeling too dry after using.

New Beauty Fast Fixes knours

Knours Double Duty Mist, 1 oz — Retail Value $8

This mist is pretty neat- it has an oil layer and a water layer, and depending on what your skin concerns are you can either shake it to mix the two layers or spray it on without shaking. The bottom layer is designed to help balance skin, while the top layer adds an extra boost of moisture.

New Beauty Fast Fixes korres

Korres White Blossom Body Butter 7.95 fl oz — Full-Size! Retail Value $32

This is a really lovely body butter- it is deeply nourishing without leaving my skin feeling greasy, and the light floral scent is pleasant and layers well with whatever perfume I choose to wear that day.

New Beauty Fast Fixes lumify 1 New Beauty Fast Fixes lumify 2

LUMIFY® Redness Reliever Eye Drops, 0.08 fl oz — Full-Size! Retail Value $11.99

I don't get red eyes very often, and if you do I suggest talking to your ophthalmologist- sometimes using redness relief eye drops like these can mask potentially serious eye problems. That being said, I do get dry eyes frequently, and I have appreciated having these on hand to add a boost of hydration. They worked well when I was wearing my contacts, too.

New Beauty Fast Fixes mario

Mario Badescu Lip Balm, 0.35 oz —Full-Size! Retail Value $8

I actually didn't know that Mario Badescu made lip balms before receiving one in this box. This has coconut oil, shea butter, and cocoa butter, and it was rich and nourishing to my dry lips (don't forget to drink your water, folks!).

New Beauty Fast Fixes nuria 1 New Beauty Fast Fixes nuria 2

Nuria Hydrate Moisturizing Toner, 6.1 fl oz — Full-Size! Retail Value $24

Nuria is a brand that has been popping up recently, and I really like this hydrating toner. It has mallow root, rose oil, and chamomile to soothe and nourish, and it is alcohol-free! Other ingredients include aloe and hyaluronic acid, and this made for a great hydrating step in my skincare routine.

New Beauty Fast Fixes pacifica

Pacifica Pollution Fight Blue Algae Urban Defense Facial Mask — Retail Value $4

Pacifica has such pretty packaging, and I would love to see more skincare products from them pop up in subscription boxes. This has great ingredients like kelp, blue algae, and chlorella, my skin felt great after using it and I felt like I had a glow. My only complaint is that this mask was a bit narrow and didn't reach to my jawline completely, but the eye holes were in the shape of hearts!

New Beauty Fast Fixes st. tropez

St Tropez Self Tan Purity Bronzing Water Mousse, 6.7 fl oz — Full-Size! Retail Value $42

Even though I am very, very pale, I have never gotten in the habit of self-tanning. I have tried minis of this mousse before, and I thought that texture made it easier to apply. I also have a good friend who has tried this product out, she self-tans regularly and is a fan of this.

The Verdict: I have been looking forward to the Beauty Awards box ever since last year's, and while I was a little bummed that they chose to offer two boxes rather than one mega box, overall I am still pretty pleased with both the value and the items included. Including brands like Nuria, amika, and First Aid Beauty really won me over, and none of the products felt like misses to me- they will all be used or given to very appreciative friends. I calculated a total value of $230.47, which is more than quadruple the cost of the box, and is only a few cents short of the promised value.

To Wrap Up:

Can you get this box if you sign up today? Yes, this box is still available!

Value Breakdown: This box cost $49.99 and I calculated a total estimated value of $230.47! Here is what you are paying approximately per item:

  • amika: $5.42
  • Avene: $3.04
  • Eucerin: $1.41
  • First Aid Beauty: $6.50
  • Hello: $1.08
  • Klorane: $4.34
  • Knours: $1.73
  • Korres: $6.94
  • Lumify: $2.60
  • Mario Badescu: $1.73
  • Nuria: $5.21
  • Pacifica: $0.87
  • St. Tropez: $9.11

I was just looking for the spoilers on Nov tube & came across this box. I had previously swore I wouldn’t buy any products for a few months to use up my overstock, but I really wanted to try a few things in here after seeing it!! I have all 4 subtypes of rosacea, and the Lumify eye drops are supposed to be helpful for occular. I could also use the toothpaste since going Sulfite free bc of the rosacea, & my daughter desperately needs lip balm always, plus we could both use the self tanner!! I was also excited to see the first aid beauty and the avene thermal water , both of which are recommended by some who have rosacea…So i found the discount code to get 20% off and ordered… to my dismay they sent me two of the fast fix boxes and one of the anti-aging!!!🤗 and i got free shipping so i really only paid like $1 for each item!!! I am totally blown away! Thanks New Beauty!!

I have the St Tropez Self Tan Purity Bronzing Water Mousse, 6.7 fl oz from this box, and the smaller version from Allure if anyone is interested in swapping!

Great review as usual Jessica. However, I mostly wanted to comment to say directly to you: CONGRATULATIONS on finishing Law School and getting to the point of being stressed out over the Bar exam. I wish you all the best with regard to passing the Bar as well! Those are both awesome achievements!

Why does this always happen? I didn’t have any desire for this box until I saw the review. Did anyone ever find a coupon code?

Reply ButtonReply

Taren

I keep getting emails to purchase this but never any discount codes. They seem to be holding firm for as long as possible

Reply ButtonReply

Melissa

Also waiting on a coupon code for this. All things I’d use and have used before, nothing I need or need to try. Surprised and glad it’s not sold out, though.

Is anyone interested in offloading their st tropez that bought this box? I live in Florida but avoid the sun and always wear Jean’s lol. I think I managed to link my swap account to my name. Also can be reached in email at tammyw @ webtwd dot com I have a lot more than what’s listed if you let me know what your interested in swapping

I was genuinely excited when opening this box. There are a few staples for me (Klorane, Avene and Hello toothpaste) and new exciting items (Nuria, Amika, and Lumify). I’ve tried everything and I really think the value was worth it!

Katie

Is there anyway to sign up to be notified when they release another box like this without signing up to get another subscription box? Would be very interested if that was the case.

Thanks!

Luna

If you go to newbeauty dot com/beautybox then scroll to the bottom of the page there’s a box to enter your email address so you can be notified of limited edition boxes (along with New Beauty updates & subscription offers). 🙂

I would use about half the items in this box. Some don’t work for me, others I never use, and a few I’ve got a backstock. The value just isn’t enough to tempt me. The other variation has the same issue. I’ve really enjoyed the jumbo boxes. There was plenty to try, even if only half the items worked out.

sara

While many items are useful and the value is there, to me, it’s not a very exciting box. I’d need a sale or coupon code to nudge me into buying it. Or a really bad day when I need a pick me up, that might nudge me too lol!

Jen

I was ready to purchase but they don’t ship to Alaska 😕

LunaLee

Are there ever promo codes for these?

Cindy

If the high ticket item was something useful, I would get this. I have no idea why companies keep sticking self tanner in the boxes to ruin the value. Don’t know a soul who thinks slathering chemicals in their body is better for them than a little sun.

I love the color I am. I’m olive skin with green/hazel eyes. But during summer I love to get darker. And I love my skin dark too. I think we just enjoy it. It’s fun and different colors look different on you. I love it. I just started browsing on MSA. I’m so happy I did. I grabbed this box because of the tanning and scalp moisturizer. And I love their anti-aging box too.

Anna

We could just let people enjoy things.

Reply ButtonReply

katie

Perfectly stated.

Megan

I would take a few chemicals over the awfulness of my past skin cancer. Bring on the self-tanners!

Reply ButtonReply

Jenn

I can only use self tanner, as I have had multiple melanomas requiring 4 surgeries over the last year. For those of us that need to stay out of the sun, self tanner is always welcomed!

Reply ButtonReply

Nina

Well this soul much prefers self tanner than letting my skin sizzle under UV rays. Even a “little” sun will cause skin cell damage, which can increase the risk for skin cancer and accelerate skin aging. The active ingredient in self tanners is dihydroxyacetone (DHA), a color additive often derived from plant sources that’s approved by the FDA.

Reply ButtonReply

Nat

I prefer using good sunscreen instead of self tanners.

Nat

Agree! I still have a sample of that from Allure box. I do want to get around to try it but don’t anticipate to keep using it. Seeing a self tanner in a box automatically makes me not want to get it

Reply ButtonReply

Nat

I am not surprised this box is still available. Nothing of interest to me but great review!

Reply ButtonReply

Jen

I’m really wishing this would go on sale so I can pick one up. Kind or surprised these didn’t sell out right away!

Reply ButtonReply

Jackie

So intrigued by that scalp oil, will have to think about it 🙂 Thanks for the review!! Just a note that the Lumify drops need to be used 10 minutes before putting in contact lenses (don’t use them while your contacts are in), that’s what it says on their website.
