Kira Kira Crate “Beat the Heat” July 2019 Review

This box always comes with a booklet that describes all the items and how to use them, which is great for me because the majority of the packaging isn’t written in English! They also feature customer photos that use the hashtag #kirakiracrate to share on social media and include a great how-to on using the items in the box. This month’s theme is “Beat the Heat,” which is something I'm always trying to do in the hotter months. Let's see if this month's goodies help!

Cool Foot Scrub

This could be one of my delightfully weird quirks, but I actually love foot-specific products! This scrub has a nice texture - not too harsh and gritty while still having li'l bits in there, if you will. It looks like I could have received a peach scent, but I'm all about this mint. I love mint scrubs and body washes for the summer when it's so hot or I've been outside, and this has a light spearmint scent that's super-refreshing.

Cinnamoroll Ice Pack

You wouldn't think that this would be a good beauty item, but I actually think this is a genius inclusion! This is a super-portable ice pack that seems like it would be great for a lunchbox, and while that's true, I also think this would be great to have on the go for any moments when cooling down is needed quick! The plastic on the outside is soft, and it would feel terrific on my pressure points when the temps are super-high.

Watermelon Bath Salts

You can't get much more summery than watermelon! Real juice and extract were used in the creation of these, and they're such a pretty color. The watermelon scent comes through with just a hint of peppermint (this also contains peppermint oil). A hot bath isn't real appealing in the summertime, but no one said you couldn't take a cool one! A major bonus here is two packets, so that you can enjoy them twice.

Kira July 2019 Footmask Kira July 2019 Mask Back

Foot Mask

And look at that - another foot-centric item! These little booties contain 7 natural ingredients meant to moisturize and nourish the feet. I'm super-hard on mine in the summer; I'm constantly either in sandals or my bare feet, so they need all the help they can get from the argan, olive, avocado, and coconut oils packed in this moisturizing pair.

Kira July 2019 Bangs front

Bangs Sheets

Sadly, the last item doesn't fully apply to me, but I think I can make it work! These are bangs sheets, meant to fix a very specific part of the hair that I don't have. I had bangs for a while in grad school, and while I loved them, I don't miss the growing-out phase. These are labeled for bangs, but their sebum-absorbing powder seems to work well on all parts of the hair, and leaves a really nice, slightly flowery scent behind. I think these would be perfect to throw in a travel bag and use on long trips, either a long day at the airport, or a multi-hour road trip!

Verdict: These items were really perfect for the month's theme, and with two foot-lovin' items, I'm in heaven! I really liked the watermelon and peppermint scents to keep things refreshing, and the variety of products this month impressed me. If anyone needs me, I'll be in a watermelon bath with my moisturizing mask booties on, gently pressing the Cinnamoroll ice pack on my face to shrink my pores.
