Kinder Beauty Box Natural Beauty August 2019 Review
Each box comes with an info card that has each product pictured with a short description and listed value, so you know what each product is worth.
Andalou Naturals CannaCell® D.Puff Eye Cream, 0.6 fl oz – Retail Value $19.99
Andalou is a great, natural brand I’ve sampled before thanks to other beauty subscriptions. This eye cream is a repeat product for me that I am happy to try again. I used up the first tube I received from Goodbeing earlier this year, and I did notice that this light eye cream seemed to hydrate and brighten my undereye. This treatment seemed to work best for me in the morning under makeup, then I use a thicker eye cream overnight.
Cuvée Beauty Travel Size Champagne Spray, 1.7 fl oz – Listed Value $15 (Buy 5 oz for $45)
Wow! Everything about this champagne-infused spray is amazing! I applied 3-4 sprays to damp hair and was taken away with the intoxicating fragrance of champagne and fig leaf. This sulfate, paraben and phthalate-free texturizer doesn’t make your hair feel dry or sticky, but it created volume and waves into my normally straight hair. I love it!
Franklin & Whitman Northern Liberties Face Mask, 2 oz – Retail Value $24.95
Since my skin has been especially sensitive recently, I decided to do a patch test of this mask on my hand first. White kaolin clay, French red clay, oryza sativa starch, and hibiscus rosa-sinensis are the only ingredients in this powder mask; they work together to purify and exfoliate by absorbing excess oils, stale sebum and impurities leaving your skin clear and radiant. It is exactly the kind of exfoliation I love! I added a few drops of water to about a half a teaspoon for the back of my hand. The instructions say to not quite let this mask dry, so after about 7 minutes I wet the back of my hand and gently massaged the mask into my skin as I rinsed it off. It has a gritty, sand-like texture that makes your skin feel baby soft but can be a little abrasive (but also feels amazing!).
Phase Zero Metal Veil Eyeshadow in Gilded – Retail Value $15
Liquid eyeshadows are so fast and easy to use, and the payoff of this version is great! This is another repeat product for me, unfortunately in the same color, but that happens in the world of subscription boxes. When applying this copper beauty, you just have to remember to start blending quickly because once it sets, it is on for good. The longevity of wear is up to par with some of my favorite brands, not to mention this color is beautiful.
Hot oil is a new type of treatment for me, even though it is an old school method to keep hair manageable, shiny and healthy. The instructions are simple—you just heat up a bowl of water and dip the pouch into the water to melt the product. After the product warms up, apply it generously and let it set in your hair and scalp as long as possible. After the product has time to do its magic, you shampoo it out and your hair is left looking restored and refreshed thanks to the antioxidants from the blackberries and coconut oils. I loved the soft, fruity smell of this product, but I didn’t really think it did more than a normal hair mask would.
Verdict: I loved this month’s Kinder Beauty Box! They really mixed it up by sending two hair samples this month and an array of other awesome, natural products, too. Using listed and retail values, August’s box has a total value of $78.93 which is pretty great for a $24 box.
