Ellie is a workout wear + gear subscription! Each month you'll receive a complete outfit and some additional workout accessories/tools. You can choose from the collections for the month or skip by the 4th of the month.

I love the rose gold packaging!

There is the option of subscribing to a 3-item or 5-item box. Both boxes include 3 apparel items (top, bottom, & bra) and the 5-item box includes 2 additional workout accessories/equipment items.

This is a review of the five-item box, which is $49.95 per month.

My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Ellie Women's Fitness Clothing & Gear "Catch Up" July 2019 Review

At the beginning of each month, Ellie releases new collections. You can choose which one you want or skip that month if you don't want any of them.

A matching shiny envelope holds an invoice of your goodies and, this month, the summer edition of their mini-magazine.

I chose the Catch Up collection this month because of the shorts!

Zobha Athlete Mesh Hoodie in White, M

While "short sleeve" and "hoodie" seem like an odd pairing to me, it works well for workouts. I like that the short sleeves don't restrict my range of motion and I like that I can tuck away my hair in the hoodie for certain movements. I also can use the hoodie as extra padding when resting the barbell on my shoulders when squatting. The white knit part of this hoodie is soft and stretchy and the band at the bottom hem keeps it in place when doing any inversion movements. The white mesh section is soft but slightly less stretchy and goes across the bust, under the arms, and down the back giving the top lots of ventilation. It's a cute style but I wish it was just a bit looser in cut to be more figure flattering on me.

Marika Moana Sports Bra in Black, M

Isn't this just the sassiest sports bra! I love the lace-up style. Other great features are the adjustable straps, racerback conversion hook, and removable cup pads. This is a low impact bra without a lot of coverage so while I'd be fine lifting weights or doing yoga, I'd worry about keeping things in while doing HITT or dancing. I could probably have used a size up in this bra to give me a bit more stability.

Bally Fiona Bermuda Shorts 11", M

I chose this collection because it's the first time I've seen shorts as an option. I love to hang out in my workout shorts in the summer since leggings get so hot. Most of my shorts are the short running style so it's nice to try a longer Bermuda length. I don't find them as flattering on me but they are great for riding bikes, lifting, or just working around the house. I've also worn them under some of my dresses to keep my legs from rubbing. I like the reinforced mid-rise waist and the pockets!

Marika Chilling Towel

I've always wanted to try one of these cooling towels. I've also always been skeptical about them. But, I have to say, this is a great workout towel! It's super absorbent and soft – almost with a fine sponge feel – and holds a ton of water without dripping. The cooling action happens due to the evaporation of the moisture in the towel after you "snap" it. My take is that the damp towel does stay cooler than the hot air or my hot skin, but I can't say that it feels "cold." The only annoying thing is that it dries hard (like a dry sponge) and can be a little tough to fold and store.

Marika Agility Cones, pack of 10

These little yellow cones give me flashbacks to soccer drill days...and how much I hated them! But, speed and agility training is a great addition to any workout and can be done anywhere. I'll have to start them again using this set of 10 flexible cones that are easy to carry anywhere. You can check out three exercises you can use these for here.

Verdict: My Ellie collection selection worked out ok for me this month. I wanted to try the shorts, and although they aren't the most flattering, they've turned out to be my go-to for hot workouts. The bra is sexy-cute but doesn't make me feel as secure as I typically like. Maybe going up a size would help. I love receiving an outfit plus 2 extra pieces of workout gear. It makes getting ready for a workout more fun when I have coordinating outfits. I like how subscriber-friendly Ellie's site is too; I can log on to skip the month, choose which outfit I want, or adjust my sizes at any time.

I know there hasn’t been a review on this box for a while and it has a low average review, but I just wanted to say I love this box and it has totally refreshed my workout wardrobe in a budget conscious manner. (And it doesn’t look that way). Customer service is great. Sizing is hit or miss and that is the real drawback of this sub. Highly recommend!
