I have $10.00 in points saved up. And, with the spend $35 free sample pack that will bump it to $50 spent. And, I’m going to add the full-size Jane Airedale Chapstick. Fingers crossed it’s still avail. come Tues. when this goes on sales for ACES. For $30.00 this bag is worth it to me. Especially, since the brush is $26. And, the Tarte pallet $19.

ROFLOL, I read this as ” Darkside” twice while scanning the page for items of interest. I suppose ” Deskside” is really a word, but I’d have named it ” Desk top” or something… Just then, my brain went ” Deckside”.
Shades of the FFF gym bag ” Will workout for cupcakes” vs ” Will work out for cupcakes”. LOL
It looks like a cute ‘lil birchbox kit for those who are still with the co. 😉

$103 value, not counting the bar, HUM, notebook, and bag.

I would buy this for $25 but not $40. If there was a full size HUM I may bump it up to $30 but nothing more.

Totally agree. $25 or $30 with 15% off and I would probably bite.

Apparently the price is not an issue for lots of people, cuz it’s sold out

I read that title as “The Darkside Essentials box” ….my hard rock loving self was all, oh heck yes I need that! I am rather bummed at my reading mistake after seeing the not-at-all-dark contents! 😂😂

OMG! I did the same thing!!

😂😂 Not on brand for Birchbox! I’d definitely buy one from Ipsy or BoxyCharm, though!

Lol, Stef! This cracked me up. 🙂

Not interested in how mainstream beauty boxes are branching out into “wellness” categories lately. Especially since things like gummies & supplements are pure snake oil.

Bummer. I love this, but I think the price tag is too high for what’s included.

Please tell me somebody has figured out the actual value for this set, because I am NOT seeing it being a very good deal.

The brush is sold for $26 and the palette is $19. Those two alone cover the retail value at least.

Smashbox Cosmetics Camera Ready Shadow Intensifier Brush $26
tarte tarteist™ PRO to go palette $19
Winky Lux Matcha Blotting Papers $8
TOCCA Crema da Mano Hand Cream – Giulietta $10 (sephora)
KIND Breakfast Probiotics Bar – Apple Cinnamon – 1 bar – 4 count is $3 so let’s say $1 for a loosie
HUM Nutrition Glow Sweet Glow Gummies – Travel-size $10 (sephora)
ARROW BOOST Color Enhancing Lip Balm – Blush Hour $14 (walgreens)
invisibobble® ORIGINAL Traceless Hair Ring – $8
Georgette Klinger Coconut Facial Mist – Travel-size $9 (?)
Love Beauty and Planet Coconut Water & Mimosa Flower Deodorant Stick $7
Simply Gum Peppermint Gum – 15 pieces $2.39
All that adds up to $114.39 birchbox claims it’s worth $143 so the branded notebook, pen, and zippered pouch most companies give away are worth $28.61 in their universe.
Hope that helps.

They have their birthday/anniversary coming up in September, I am hoping for some discounts on some fun items, maybe even LE boxes! Fingers crossed!

I would buy this – but not for $40

I’m still eyeing their “coral” kit, but waiting for a way to get it for much less than the $42 price tag. This kit is a miss for me, but a nice idea. I can see an older relative buying it for a young office worker.

Seems pricy! They’ve had other recent Limited Edition boxes with lots of big full-size items and only a slightly higher price.

I would totally pick this up if it was $20! I used to love their Limited edition boxes. The values have fallen and samples sizes are way too small for this price tag. A pack of gum and single granola bar? Cute idea but overpriced. If those Hum vitamins were full sized it would help, a bottle of those is $25 but you get 60, this sample size only has 14.

Really they want 40 for this? Do they ever leave their bubble to see what the competition is putting up?

Lori
I wonder this about them all the time? Do they think they are untouchable because they’ve been around so long? Can they just not keep up? I’m genuinely curious…
