Star Wars Epic Adventures “The Phantom Menace” Review

All of our materials came wrapped and packaged inside this cardboard container.

Inside our package were these bonus “gift cards” for several baby and kid items, some of which I have ordered in the past myself. Usually, you just have to pay the shipping for your item after entering your coupon code.

Star Wars Epic Adventures: The Phantom Menace Storybook by S.T. Bende

The main component of each box is this 96-page storybook that provides a family-friendly retelling of the story as told by C-3PO. This month we are starting with Episode 1: The Phantom Menace. I was impressed by the nice quality of this hardcover book full of glossy, color pages. There is a table of contents at the beginning as well as a databank that explains how words in bold throughout our story will be explained here. They also included a great “who’s who” guide to get us started. This is such a great way to start the story and helpful if it has been a while since you’ve watched this particular episode!

There is an introduction from C-3PO and then the book is separated into chapters making it easy to read in pieces if you aren’t ready to sit down to a 96-page story. While the book looks like it contains stills from the movies, they have been modified to give them more of an illustrated look which I thought was really cool! As for the storyline, they break it down very simply while also taking care to explain a bit about who everyone is and how things worked in the Galactic Republic. This is written as though someone is really sharing a story with you and it even included some asides where C-3PO addresses R2-D2 and BB-8. We finish with a goodbye from C-3PO reminding us that this is just the beginning of our journey! Overall, I think they did a nice job of making it family-friendly and more accessible for a younger audience!

Collectible Galactic Profile Cards

These cards are so nice! We received 12 in total and they are a great size with a glossy finish and color on both sides. Each card describes some of the major players in our story and provides their picture on the front with their name, description, and location on the back along with some information about their role in our story. These seem like a great item that any fan of the franchise would be happy to have!

Star Wars Jedi vs. Sith Ultimate Sticker Book

This sticker book features 50 full-color stickers and explains on the first page that you are supposed to read the captions on each page and choose the pictures that best fit using the labels and descriptions to help. This would be a fun activity to do as a group or one-on-one activity. It’s a great way to go through the story and characters and test your Star Wars knowledge!

Bonus Gift: Star Wars Timeline Poster

This four-foot poster helps you track your way through the saga as you receive a new vinyl sticker to add to it each month. The poster is made of a thin cardstock making it fairly sturdy and it will be a fun way to keep track of your progress through the series as a family!

Note: Future subscriptions will now include a free Star Wars official youth T-shirt instead of the bonus timeline poster.

Vinyl Stickers

Here are our vinyl stickers for this month’s box. We have one rectangular sticker for the timeline and a starship to add to the top of our poster or use anywhere we want to display it.

Verdict: The Star Wars Epic Adventures is a fantastic way to help younger ones get in on the magic of Star Wars in a way that is both age-appropriate and incredibly appealing! Parents who are eager to introduce their children to the saga, or even those who just want a fun way to relive each film will enjoy this box. The items are great quality and provided so much knowledge and insight into this magical world as they introduced the characters and their adventures. There were a lot of great collectibles and I love that we get to build upon them with each new box! For only $9.99 with free shipping for the introductory offer, I think this is a great value!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes! Everyone begins with the Phantom Menace box.

COUPON: Get your first month for $9.99 with free shipping! No coupon needed - just use this link.

Value Breakdown: This limited edition box costs $9.99 with free shipping for the introductory offer, which means each of these 5 items has an average value of about $2.00. Subsequent boxes to this subscription will cost $19.98 with $3.99 shipping, so it will be interesting to see what the value of the box is like when the price is $13.98 more. If you’re interested in this box, it’s worth considering the intro deal may not last forever!
