Quirky Crate July 2019 Review

Quirky Crate samples one item from a featured artist or brand each month. This month’s special find comes from Compoco, Shani Feldman and Tal Dekkers' stationery and accessories brand. This info card gives you a little background on Shani & Tab and their company as well as some social media tags for them.

On the flipside, Quirky Crate includes an itemized list of each product and its value. This month's theme is "Out of This World."

Time to get quirky!!

Shooting Star Crossbody - Listed Value $28

As far as these shiny, synthetic bags go, this one is definitely my favorite from this subscription. The multi-dimensional colors and glitter alone draw my attention, but it is the reflective unicorn iridescence that really attracts me to this bag. I feel I'd need to be going to a very particular event to carry this bad boy out with me, but in the meantime, I plan on keeping this as a touch-up clutch in my car with my emergency brow products, bobby pins, dry shampoo and concealer.

UFO Enamel Pin - Listed Value $10

This pin is so cute! It couldn't be more perfect for this month's outer space theme, even though I think they went above and beyond with the cutesy rainbow and heart details.

UFO Socks - Listed Value $8

These socks couldn't have come at a better time, considering the Area 51 rouse. I love the fit and feel of this pair, more so than the previous month's longer style. These are snugger, and the cut is right above the ankle, which I also definitely prefer. The overall design is fun and quirky, and I totally love the color scheme and the friendly, blue aliens.

Star Ice Cube Mold - Retail Value $5

Delivering fun, colorful items is what Quirky Crate is all about! This tiny, silicone ice cube tray can make your cosmo cosmically cute with its star-shaped ice cubes. Even though this little tray only produces 12 mini cubes, it will add a little bit of celestial charm to your glass.

Compoco Space Unicorn Holo Sticker - Retail Value $3.50

I may be the only one here, but I am not super into unicorns. Space unicorns, on the other hand... Haha, this is actually a pretty cute sticker. I love anything holographic, really, and I like how the artist used the pastel colors to contrast the rainbow body. This sticker is this month's featured artists' spotlight item. They have a ton of cute holo stickers on their website as well as pins, keychains and other stationery.

Kawaii Bentoy Sticker Box - Retail Value $11.95

Stickers are one of my favorite things, so a box of stickers for me was like Christmas morning. This kit comes complete with 16 stickers, some of which have an iridescent sparkle finish. The kawaii-style illustrations are adorable, and this little plastic box reminds me of a pencil box from elementary school. Too cute!

Moon Stone Layered Necklace - Listed Value $15

This layered necklace, in theory, would be ideal for me, but all three layers together cheapen it for me, especially since I keep needing to untangle this gold chain. Separately, I appreciate each of the heart and star charms, and I especially love the moonstone, but as a whole, it just feels like cheap costume jewelry. I am wearing this on the loosest setting, but on the tightest setting, the heart strand almost becomes a choker.

Planet Pen - Listed Value $3

Much like mascaras, I love to try every new pen that comes my way. Snail mail will always be a huge part of my life, so I need to have a top-notch pen at the ready, and surprisingly this one really fits the bill. It is like butta'! So smooth and comfortable to hold, its very fine tip makes it very easy to write in even the smallest spaces. Plus, the planet on top will make it nearly impossible for someone to steal at work!

UFO Rainbow Patch - Listed Value $6

I am so glad QC sent out a coordinating pin and patch! The rainbow UFO is such a cool design, and I will love sporting the two together on a jean jacket. The simple instructions are right on the back for this iron-on, and I've had great luck ironing on the patches made by Quirky Crate.

The Verdict: I just love Quirky Crate. This box makes me smile every month, and I always have so much fun unboxing!  The total value of this box adds up to almost $90.45, more than double the $36.95 + $6.50 shipping subscription cost. I always think QC is worth every penny, especially if you have a flair for sporting flair.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? If you sign up for a subscription, you will receive the August box.

Value Breakdown: This box costs $36.95 + $6.50 shipping, which means that each of the 9 items in the box has an average cost of $4.83.

I’m a self-proclaimed “cool mom” who loves a little, who am I kidding, a lot of razzle-dazzle. I have been box-obsessed for over 10 years, and I am always on the hunt for new beauty, fun flair and trendy clothing boxes. A fun night for me includes an exfoliating foot mask and a bag of Dot's Pretzels while binging Rupaul’s Drag Race.

When I saw that the theme was space this month, I couldn’t help resubscribing!

The UFO pin is definitely my favorite, it’s high quality.

I like the star mold, too. It can be used for other things besides ice, like chocolates or tiny soaps.

I’m not a fan of them describing the necklace as a “moonstone.” Like, a moonstone is a specific type of semiprecious stone that actually exists. This is just a rhinestone with an aurora borealis effect.

Love the unicorn astronaut sticker!

The whole point about being quirky is going out dressed in this stuff all the time with no events in mind. Everyday fashion kind of thing. Lol
