Orglamix June 2019 “Boardwalk” Box Review
This month’s theme is “Boardwalk.” Let’s see how Orglamix incorporated that theme into the month’s items:
The box came with an information card detailing the items and theme for January. It sometimes also lists ingredients, which is nice since these items aren’t typically available in their online shop.
Endless Summer Natural Bronzer – Listed Value $12
If you have read some of my other reviews, you’ll know that I am very pale. Well, I am one of those people who just can’t get away with bronzer. (I prefer to stay out of the sun and I don’t use self-tanner, so bronzer just doesn’t work for me at all.) This is a pretty dramatic color and it has some sparkle to it, so I think it will probably best be used as a cheek color if I mix it with some loose powdered blush and apply sparingly. Alternatively, it would work as an eyeshadow.
Sunshine Brightening Facial Oil – Listed Value $38
I discovered a few years ago that I can use facial oils if I am good about exfoliation. You really only need a few drops of this at one time. The information booklet says this is good as a makeup primer but I stick to mattifying primers so my face is not an oil slick by the end of the day. But for its moisturizing properties, I like this, and the scent is pleasant as well. This does contain both fragrance oils and essential oils but so far has not irritated my skin.
Sorbet Perfume Palette – Listed Value $25
I feel like Orglamix hasn’t been sending too many fragrances lately, even though that’s something I’ve always thought they were good at. But they made up for it by basically sending three of them here. They are all a little different and you can use them alone or together. Solid fragrances like this are especially great if you don’t want to broadcast the scent you are wearing all the way across your office, for example, as I find they have pretty light sillage.
Beach Salt Scrub – Listed Value $18
This says salt scrub in the information booklet but as far as I can tell, this is actually a sugar scrub. It smells really, really good, and I am happy that it turned out to be a sugar scrub instead because I find those are a little gentler (but still effective). This is already mostly gone.
Boardwalk Natural Eyeshadow – Listed Value $12.50
Most months, you will get a loose mineral eyeshadow in this subscription. This one is rather dramatic for me but I can always blend it with a lighter color or apply a lighter color over it to make it a bit less bold, or perhaps use just a little bit as an accent (since I mostly wear makeup at work). These eyeshadows blend very well and stay in place nicely with a good primer. And they don’t irritate my eyes!

Verdict: I calculated a value of $105.50 for the June Orglamix subscription box. The items this month were all exclusive for this box, so I had to rely a lot on the information card. Although a few seem inflated (especially considering the size of the scrub), I feel like you are getting more than your money’s worth considering the price of the subscription. The perfume palette is nice, the oil is particularly useful, and scrubs are my favorite bath/body items to receive, so this was a pretty good month for me.
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, this was June’s box and they say they ship around the 10th (in practice, it may be a week or two after that before the box actually ships, although this month’s box was received somewhat later than usual). You’d probably get the August box as your first one.
