Kal-Elle Fandom Monthly “Lion King” Review
The theme this month is “Lion King” – no doubt in celebration of the live-action movie that just came out! I know a lot of people have been really excited about the new re-make, so let’s see if this box is equally tantalizing! For those keeping track, this is the June box.
Timon and Pumbaa Magnet
The OG enablers of taking it easy are the stars of this month’s magnet with young Simba! The colors are bright and these two always make me smile.
4 x 6″ Proud Simba Art Print
The usual beautiful watercolor style of this art print is brought to excellent effect with adult Simba as the main figure! I love the warm colors and use of negative space in this piece.
Simba and Nala Enamel Pin
I can’t help it – any time I hear this song, I have to sing along! I’m personally partial to the Elton John version, but I love the design of this sweet enamel pin with Simba and Nala on the front.
This colorful lanyard featuring pretty much the entire cast has a ton of versatility! The clasp and string attachments could be used for keys, ID holders, heck, even a personal handheld fan. I bet this would be invaluable on a trip to Disney World.
Hakuna Matata Earrings
It’s not always easy taking this phrase to heart; I am, by nature, a worrier! These are a great reminder to take a breath and try to take it easy. I like that this piece is part of the fandom, but has a written message, rather than a visual reference.
Simba Symbol Necklace
I think it’s fair to say that this symbol might be one of the most iconic of the entire franchise! I really appreciate this sophisticated take on a piece of jewelry from this film, plus it’s silver – my favorite!
I don’t remember the last time I had a sticker set in a Kal-Elle box, but I’m in looooove with these! I was happy to see Scar and a hyena included in this pack; sometimes a gal needs a villain or two in her life, you know? These are sturdy and well-made, and the colors really pop.
So soft…so velvety! This is the second pillowcase I’ve received (the last was in the Jurassic Park box and my husband flipped for it!), and it’s just as high-quality. The warm pinks and reds are a nice contrast to the violet hues, making this a superb statement piece for the couch!
Verdict: I definitely felt the love tonight while checking out this sweet Lion King swag! The items were a nice variety from both each other and from past boxes, everything was high-quality, and it seemed like a lot of care went into the design. I like when the items are thoughtfully created and pull from real knowledge of the fandom. I have a good friend who loooooves Lion King, and I absolutely cannot wait to send these goodies her way because I know she’ll totally appreciate them in the way they deserve to be enjoyed!
To Wrap Up:
Boxes ship every month between the 23rd-27th.
Value Breakdown: This box cost me $19 + $4 shipping, which means that each of the 7 items in the box has an average cost of $3.29. The fact that this box is always so highly curated, and offers a wide variety of researched and well-designed items really adds value to the box.
