Here's one of the boxes you can pick starting tomorrow, August 1st:

Flavoring your own liquor is about to get much simpler. The Ethan+Ashe Alkemista Infusion Vessel incorporates a stainless steel filter into a lab-grade borosilicate glass vessel inspired by the design of classic spirit bottles. It works with fresh and dried fruit, herbs, botanicals, and spices — really, there’s no limit to what you can use. You can even employ this thing to infuse new flavors into oil, vinegar, or even (iced) teas. But to get you started on the right path and show you what this baby can do, we have some recipe ideas. Give ‘em a shot.

This box includes Ethan+Ashe Alkemista Infusion Vessel - Retail Value $70

Alkemista is an all-in-one infusion vessel that enables anyone to create and serve fresh, custom crafted spirits at home or in a bar. Inside, Alkemista’s ultra-fine stainless steel filter gently introduces the flavors and aromas of fruits, spices, herbs and botanicals into spirits — while preventing unwanted particles from entering the infusion. And the filter is easily removable — transforming the Alkemista into an elegant serving vessel.

INCLUDES

  • 950ml Borosilicate glass Alkemista Infusion Vessel
  • Ultra-fine Stainless Steel Filter
  • Tritan® and Stainless Steel Base
  • Instruction + Recipes Booklet
  • Removable label pack

AND:

Um, we just use mason jars and a strainer to infuse our liquor and vinegar…

Wow. This actually seems wildly overpriced to me. Yes, the system is novel (ie the screw off bottom to the bottle) but for that much money I can deal with steeping in one container and then pouring into a flask.

The main thing is to get a high quality steeper. (for example like the following. There you get 2 steepers, which is more than you need, but I have it and can recommend as the quality is great.

amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00X50NUU4/ref=cm_cr_arp_mb_bdcrb_top?ie=UTF8&th=1&psc=1

if you don’t have anything in your house that you can use to steep in, you can add $10 for a borosilicate glass beaker (Amazon).

Plus $10 for the orange ginger. Total =$35. Store in an empty bottle or even get yourself a nice one. Still it’s no where near the cost difference of this set.

Usually I’m impressed w Bespoke post sets. for the normal $50 this set wouldn’t have seemed too bad. But $70, just seems way off.

Recipes abound online. Ive been making my own flavored gin from vodka for years now. And, IMHO, it’s awesome! Its definitely worth trying infusing your own spirits if you like those sorts of things.

The set is 45 but the retail. Value is 80 I believe.

Now that one is actually tempting, but wish it had the beaker too as that would make it more fun.

This design seems kinda bad. How do you prevent over infusing?
Also, this box has been available for almost a year using the “Denim” blend of spiced.
