Sooni Mask Pouch May 2019 Review

Sooni Mask Pouch 2019 - Mask Info Card

Here is the info sheet for the box. Since I also receive the regular Sooni Pouch box (review coming soon!), this pouch of sheet masks was tucked into the larger packaging.

Sooni Mask Pouch 2019 - Mask Jessi

On the other side of my info sheet is a note that my pouch was prepared by Jessi!

Sooni Mask Pouch 2019 - Mask Mugwort

Moksha Dear Mugwort Mask – Retail Value $3

This is a really great sheet mask- it’s affordable, it’s soothing, and my skin loves it! Mugwort is a plant known in Asia for its anti-inflammatory properties, and it is great for soothing acne or skin irritants. This mask has a great ingredients list with three of the top five being glycerin, hyaluronic acid, and mugwort extract. It fit my face well, and my skin felt plump and happy after wearing.

Sooni Mask Pouch 2019 - Mask Orange

Moksha Dear Orange Mask – Estimated Value $3 (based on other Moksha masks found here)

I have really liked all of the Moksha masks I have tried, and while this isn’t a bad one it is packed with citrus and fruit extracts that can irritate sensitive skin. This definitely brightened up my complexion a tad after wearing, so that’s always nice.

Sooni Mask Pouch 2019 - Mask Blackhead

Dewytree Blackhead Out Nose Patches – Retail Value $1

These nose patches are made with volcanic ash and charcoal extract to draw out impurities and help with sebum. I wasn’t that impressed with these because when using they left a black residue on my nose even though it appeared the mask had dried fully, but it did clear some stuff out so I can’t complain too much.

Sooni Mask Pouch 2019 - Mask Snail

Steam 107 Snail Essential Mask

Snail essence is a surprisingly common ingredient in Korean skincare, but other than the name there isn’t anything that distinctly makes this a ~snail~ mask. It was unscented and hydrating without being irritating to my eyes or being too drippy from the essence.

Sooni Mask Pouch 2019 - Mask Milk

A’Pieu Green Tea Milk Mask – Retail Value $1.99

The milk masks from A’Pieu are a bit of a cult favorite in the K-Beauty community, and I have tried all of them except for the green tea version! This is insanely hydrating to the skin, and along with green tea extract, this has milk extract, anise extract, mistletoe extract, and witch hazel. My skin soaked it up, and you really can't beat the hydration for the price.

Sooni Mask Pouch 2019 - Mask Mediheal

Mediheal H.D.P Pore Stamping Black Mask – Retail Value $3

Mediheal is a K-Beauty company that is actually very popular in South Korea (a lot of the well-known brands in the USA are well-known because they are marketed specifically to American consumers). This mask has an awesome ingredients list with goodies like natto gum, mushroom extract, and Centella Asiatica. My skin loves mushrooms and Centella, so it was no surprise that this purifying sheet mask left my skin feeling balanced and nourished.

The Verdict: If you enjoy sheet masking, I honestly think the Sooni Mask Pouch is the most affordable and best value subscription box that exclusively focuses on masks. I thought this month was a good mix of well-known brands (A’Pieu and Medi-Heal) and lesser-known brands (Moksha and Steam 107). I couldn’t find a value for all of the masks but the values I did find added up to $11.99, which is more than the cost of the box. Considering the price per mask breaks down to $1.67, it is hard to be unhappy even if you don’t like all of the masks sent every month.

To Wrap Up:

Can you get this box if you sign up today? From Sooni Pouch:

Once your 1st payment has processed, your pouch will be shipped during the first full week of the following month. Ex: If you join between May 1st 12AM EST through May 31st 11:59PM EST, you will receive your pouch on the first full week of June. Subsequent renewal payments will be processed on the 11th of each month.

Value Breakdown: This box costs $9.99 + free US shipping, which means that each of the 6 masks in the box has an average cost of $1.67.

My favorites from this pouch were the snail essence (I think I’m a convert now) and the mugwort. I also got a pomegranate mask because I’d just signed up — I loved it. I’m a little disappointed a nose strip is being considered one of the masks, but oh well. I wasn’t a huge fan of the green tea mask. The pore refining one was pretty good.

IMO, Facetory sends out higher quality masks. However, FT is also twice as expensive. I haven’t decided yet which ultimately offers the best value for the money. I’m enjoying my experience with both, though!
