Pura Vida Jewelry Club “The Sunset” June 2019 Review

One thing I enjoy about Pura Vida is that they always send some nice stickers with their jewelry. The designs are really fun and they always come packaged inside this foldout card that shares their story and details how they give back. They create over 200 full-time jobs for artisans worldwide!

Your jewelry will arrive in this nice sturdy box with a magnetic closure that would be perfect for gifting. Inside is some fun tropical tissue paper that makes for such a nice presentation! The card on top of our tissue paper welcomes us to the club and reminds us how our exclusive jewelry is only available to club members.

Just a note: This card states that the value will be up to $50, while their website lists it as being up to $65. This is a little confusing, and also could be misleading since the higher value is listed on their website, but after a quick (and easy) chat with customer service they confirmed that the $65 value is correct. Hopefully, they correct these cards soon!

Inside the box were two little dust bags, one for each piece of jewelry. These are a bit different than the ones that come in their bracelet club pack. These are a little smoother and sleeker in my opinion.

The Sunset Set Dusk Hoop Earrings – Estimated Value $20 (based on other earrings in their shop)

These earrings feature genuine opal stones and they are the itty bittiest hoops! They are actually so tiny that they sort of wrap around the bottom of my earlobes which really helps to showcase that dusky stone in the center.

They are really comfortable to wear and don’t even have that hoop feel since they wrap so tightly around my ear. I see myself reaching for these often, even though gold is my preferred metal at the moment!

The Sunset Set The Dusk Ring Set – Estimated Value $32 (Based on similar rings in their shop)

This ring is actually part of a set that works together and I’m not sure if they intended them to be worn separately, but I think each ring can stand alone so I photographed them separately first. This is a very lightweight band that looks like the sun’s rays to me. It is very simple even with this detailed arc design.

Here is the ring on. I’m not sure I would wear it by itself, but I think it still works!

This is the counterpart to our first ring. It is a simple band with a nice size genuine opal stone in the center that either hangs down or sits at the top depending on how you choose to wear it. I love the way it perfectly coordinates with the opals from our earrings! The band is very thin and it is really light when wearing it giving it a real delicate feel.

Here is the opal ring on. It looks much prettier in person when you can see the sparkle of the stone!

Here are the two rings stacked together. It is such a fun look! While I think it is supposed to look like the sun, it reminds me a bit of an eye when the “lashes” are at the top! They fit so well together and for the most part, they stay straight.

Here are the rings styled together. Since they are both relatively thin, even with two rings it is still a modest look.

Here is my attempt to showcase the two pieces together. You can see they are equally dainty and are great if you want a simple look!

The Verdict: I loved the dainty, delicate look of this month’s jewelry from Pura Vida jewelry club! While I tend to wear more gold these days, this subscription definitely has me wearing a lot more silver pieces since they are so nicely done! These earrings and rings definitely suit my style and I love that they have the beautiful genuine opal stones. I also love that these pieces can be worn together or separately. So far, I have been pleased with the quality of the pieces I’ve received and it feels like a great value for a $19.95/month box!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? As of now, it looks like this pack is still available!  From Pura Vida:

Orders ship within 4-5 days of purchase. Your card will be charged $19.95 + tax on the 7th of each month, and your pack will arrive around the 15th.

Value Breakdown: At $19.95 for this box, you’re paying about $6.65 for each piece.

  1. I loved this set. I normally have trouble wearing earrings that aren’t 14k gold, but I wore these all day comfortably. So I don’t know what they are made of, but they didn’t cause me any itching or redness.

  2. Is the jewelry made of silver?

    • They do not actually include any information on the makeup of the jewelry but last time someone had this question I was told this by customer service:

“be assured that our earrings/necklaces are made of sterling silver and some of them are from the brass base, which is nickel free, making it hypoallergenic”

      Hope that helps! 🙂
