The theme this month is “Let’s Flamingle” and I received 5 brushes.

For someone like myself, who really doesn’t own many makeup brushes or use a wide range of types, the info card is very helpful because it describes how you can use each brush and what types of makeup they work best for applying.

M149 Small Rounded Contour Brush (Natural) – Retail Value $3.00

This is a wee little brush! The natural bristles pick up a ton of product and its small size makes it a nice choice for my inner eye. I feel like this little brush would also be nice for adding little tiny bits of highlight to any browbone.

E15 Deluxe Oval Shadow Brush (Synthetic) – Retail Value $8.00

I really like this brush because it grabs a lot of shadow but doesn’t really have a huge fallout factor once I brush it to my lid. It is the perfect size for using to cover my entire lid and it gives my shadows a great naturally-blended look that I like very much.

E49 Flat Pointed Powder Brush (Synthetic) – Retail Value $11.00

I always love oversized brushes because I can use them for blush, powder, highlighter, everything! This one has a nice tapered head which is great for applying powder around my eye and also precision blush application. It is also super soft, so using it for highlighter gives a very natural glow.

M216 Stiff Brow Brush (Natural) – Retail Value $3.00

I do the bare minimum with my eyebrows. I overplucked in high school and getting them to grow back thicker has been years in the making. I prefer them very, very natural, and I make zero apologies! I generally will do a swipe or two of Benefit Gimmie Brow and call it done, so this little brush is likely wasted on me. I did use it to comb my eyebrows and the incredibly hard bristles did a fine job of that. I tried to use it with a powder to see if it could be used for applying a little color in my brows but the bristles are so firm this really didn’t work.

M326 Pro Precision Smudger Brush (Natural & Synthetic) – Retail Value $5.00

Our final brush is another wee one. This blend of natural and synthetic brush has those little bristles packed so closely together that it feels quite firm. The card suggested using it with shadows on your lash line, and this worked quite well, blending a darker shadow shade effortlessly for a soft finish.

Verdict: MorpheMe Monthly Brush Club sent five interesting brushes this month. I definitely liked some more than others! The E15 oval shadow brush and the E49 powder brush were the ones I would see myself using the most! I also thought both of the small ones might be useful too, though not likely daily for me. I don’t have a use for the M16 stiff brow brush. I really like this subscription because I get to experiment with different types of brushes and learn what they were specifically designed for. My brush collection is growing, brush by brush! Overall, this month has a retail value of $30, which is $10 more than the $20 subscription cost.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.
