Now, on to the items!

Lip Paint in 'Get Lucky', 0.34 fl oz – Retail Value $12.00

This is possibly the pinkest lip color I have ever seen. A true Barbie pink, it goes on bright and in your face from the first swipe. I really did not like this formula. True to its name, it does indeed feel like literal paint on my lips. It also remained sticky for a really long time. Because it is a truly opaque shade, coverage without splotches was difficult. It was a real job to remove and I ended up having to rub face oil on my lips and scrub it off. If you love bold, in your face color that will literally stay put all day (all week?) give this a try.

Tropical Matte Eyeshadow in Martinique, 2 g – Retail Value $9.00

This is one of the prettiest blues I have ever seen. This true matte shadow has a lovely velvet finish and blends out like a dream. Although it is a bold color, it somehow feels soft and delicate. I am planning on trying it out as a liner with a wet brush, as the color is too pretty to not wear, even if it is a little 'out there' for me!

Sun Kissed Bronzer, 1.4 oz – Retail Value $13.00

This is another stunning shade, although one I can not wear. I am far too pale! What the pictures aren't showing well is that there is an incredibly subtle glitter/shimmer happening in this formula that gives the slightest twinkle without looking unnatural. It is smooth and very pigmented!

Top to bottom: Lip Paint in 'Get Lucky', Eyeshadow in 'Martinique', Bronzer.

This trio of shades really screams summer to me!

Life's a Beach Face Spritzer, 0.5 oz – Retail Value $12.00

I have some issues with this product. Let me start by explaining that my face is one of those that can take testing most any product without a breakout, flare-up, or negative reaction. I generally will slather new products on without even looking at ingredients. A few moments after spraying this on my face I noticed a burning sensation. What?? I started peeking through the ingredient list and noticed a few great things, like aloe and hyaluronic acid. I also noticed sea salt and alcohol. I have no idea why I would find either of those two ingredients in a "hydrating" spray, but I know that is where the burning came from. I would use this with caution, especially on sensitive or sunburnt skin.

Verdict: This month's Medusa's Makeup Beauty Box has a value of $46.00 which is great for a $16.95 beauty box, including free shipping. It was also one of the more polarizing boxes I have ever gotten from them. I found the texture of the lip paint utterly unbearable but loved the color. The eyeshadow and bronzers were both the most stunning colors and I might try the bronzer out as a shadow because I liked it so much and I really want to make it work. The face spritzer is not something I would ever recommend.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

Good luck cancelling this. I asked twice to unsubscribe from the box and a month later I’m getting billed again. Unacceptable. I emailed them about a refund and all I got was the cancelled membership I asked for two emails ago.

Update: used the toner a couple of times today and the last time I did, it made my skin sting, like Megan described it happening to her. I am throwing that item away. Again, glad I am done with this box.

Wow. Screams something that is for sure lol!
Oh gosh I am sorry but it looks like a bad 80’s movie scene in a seedy night club hahahaha!

Even worse is that the boxes I received, all the makeup was melted! Very weird considering I have never had that happen with other beauty boxes. The lipsticks just melt into a pile of goo.

Oh boy yuck!

This month I only kept the spray, and put all the rest in my giveaway box. My youngest will probably love these colors, they just weren’t for me. I do admit they were bold and gorgeous!

Now I know I will have to test the spray to see if I have issues. Like you I rarely have a reaction from products I try, but then again, I don’t normally spray my face with alcohol and salt water. 🙂

If nothing else this is a fun box that pushes my boundaries color wise, and what is just too much for me I know I can easily gift to my girls. It is nice when I can keep more than 1 thing for myself though 😉

Really, really glad I let this box lapse. I agree about how pretty that eyeshadow is but the rest of the box is not for me at all. Also, sorry the (very small) toner burned you. 😕 Is a half ounce toner a full sized product in anyone ‘s experience?

Thanks for the honest and detailed review! I normally get this box but skipped May after seeing the spoilers. I’m so glad I did after reading this. I figured the lip paint would be too bright for me, I generally don’t wear blue eyeshadow since I have blue eyes, and I already have several bronzers (and this one would’ve been too dark as I’m fairly pale as well.)
The only product that appealed to me was the spray. I have their cucumber and grapefruit sprays and love them. But those are actually from Medusa’s line. The spray in this box was from Love Byrd, which may be their sister sight or something. I hope we don’t continue to get products from that brand if they’re all similar ingredient-wise.

Colors make me want to eat Sour Patch Kids now! Maybe not the bronze shade.
