Fabletics VIP Membership Plus Size Review + Coupon – May 2019
Fabletics is a monthly fitness apparel subscription co-founded by Kate Hudson. Fabletics also introduced a plus size line of their fashionable workout gear! You can shop their line in two different ways—either you can shop through their regular store or sign up as a VIP member. The VIP Membership works like this:
- Take the Fabletics quiz, which will let the company know your size, style, and fitness needs.
- Each month, Fabletics will curate looks that match your preferences. According to the website, outfits start at $19.00 for new members. (I’m not sure if “new members” refers to just your first order, though.)
- Shop those looks at 40-50% off what you’d get just paying retail, or skip the month. You have to make your decision by the 5th of the month. If you do neither, the $49.95 monthly membership fee will be saved to your account as a credit, which you can put towards other outfits later.
- As you shop, you’ll also earn points that can be applied to accessories and other cool fitness essentials.
Unlike a lot of other subscription boxes, you are not automatically sent a package each month. You have to go into your account and either decide to add items to your card or skip it. Subscriptions can be canceled at any time, though you do have to call into Fabletics customer service to do it.

The Subscription Box: Fabletics VIP Membership
The Cost: $49.95 a month. This price goes towards the cost of the outfits curated for you. The cost of outfits varies, but you’ll only be charged for what you choose to actually buy. If you want, you can choose to skip the month, and you won’t be charged. If you don’t spend your $49.95 nor choose to skip, Fabletics will charge you the $49.95 and just save it as store credit for you to use later.
The Products: High-quality, on-trend athletic clothing curated to fit your size, style, and needs. Think leggings, tops, shorts, and outerwear for yoga, running, and all kinds of other workouts. Fabletics is targeted towards women, primarily, but they do offer workout clothes for men, too!

Magnetic Outfit includes Mila Medium Impact Sports Bra in Black Size 2x—Retail Value $112.90, VIP Outfit Price $59.95, and $29.97 for brand new VIP member 1st outfit.
This month I opted to select the Magnetic outfit bundle. This outfit option lets you choose the color for the sports bra and bottom. I opted for a black sports bra since black goes with everything. I also went with a 2x since the sizes were limited and many of my commenters have suggested I try a 2x for a better fit. I must say, I am not going to pop out of this sports bra any time soon. I am so secure I may need a stick of butter to grease me out. Truly, though, this is snug but comfortable. The back of this sports bra has a mesh pocket intended to put a smartphone in, but I could not fit my big boy phone in there without doing some damage to the top. Regardless, I know I can get on the treadmill and elliptical without worrying about popping out of this top, so all is well with the Mila sports bra.
Mila Pocket Short in White Size 3x— Retail Value $112.90, VIP Outfit Price $59.95, and $29.97 for brand new VIP member 1st outfit.
I was determined to find a pair of shorts with a pocket this month and I found these awesome Mila pocket shorts. The only drawback, you ask? All but the white were sold out in my size. I generally avoid white when getting workout gear, mainly to being a self-proclaimed slob. I also was concerned that people would notice sweat more so, or dare I say it if I got my period out of nowhere! Alas, I said to heck with my concerns and got these shorts in white. The shorts have ample stretch and fit rather comfortably. I hope Fabletics restocks their site. I want these in every shade available!
Verdict: I am still loving Fabletics, but if it were December 23rd, I would have to air some Festivus grievances! My complaints are not due to the quality: their products are well made and designed. Their sports bras’ quality has improved vastly since I started writing reviews for Fabletics two years ago. The high impact bras are my favorite due to the fantastic support they provide—and you cannot beat the styles! I love their product so much that it frustrates me how limited their plus size options are at instances. For example, I went to select an outfit and the leggings were offered in my size 3x, but the sports bra included only went up to xxl without any plus options. I am not sure why that was offered to me as an outfit if plus options weren’t being given for the sports bra. The site can be confusing to maneuver as well, which doesn’t help when trying to find options in a size that already has slim pickings. I would love to see more bundled outfits in plus and for the same ones in straight sizes to be made available in plus sizes. I want the same killer work out ensembles my thinner friends at the gym get to wear! Also, consider offering your gear in a size 4x and 5x as well, please. So, in conclusion, Fabletics: keep doing an excellent job in the quality of your pieces, but please make all of those items in plus sizes as well. Thanks in advance from a big fan of your products.
To Wrap Up:
Value Breakdown: This outfit ended up costing me $59.95. The breakdown was $28.39 for the sports bra and $31.56 for the shorts for the $59.95 total for the bundled outfit deal. The non-VIP price for these pieces a la carte would be $112.90, which means I saved a total of $52.95. That is a bit over 46% off in savings! That’s a dang steal!
