Crazy CatLadyBox June 2019 Review
CatLadyBox is always full of fun, cat-themed lifestyle items. Let’s see what was in store for June:
I love how the information cards have custom artwork every month. And the back has more information about the items in the box.
Fabulous Flamingo Catnip Toy – Listed Value $5.99
This was pretty fabulous – it had feathers, and the legs were some kind of paper/raffia product. Angus was violent with it but it is still in one piece, which is an added bonus.
Timmy the Toucan Catnip Toy – Listed Value $5.99
This is a handmade felt toy. It is small and maybe not as flashy as the flamingo, but it is a great size for tossing and it just the kind of thing that Angus likes to play with overnight (also sometimes Monkey goes into our home office to play with catnip toys during the day). It also seems well made.
Cat-Shaped Beach Towel – Listed Value $22.99
This month is shaping up to be quite tropical. I love the bright colors, and this pretty much has beach towel functionality while also having a novelty cat shape. I don’t really do anything outside but our neighborhood does have a pool and we have summer visitors coming who may want to use it, so it is good to have a few beach towels on hand so they don’t have to bring their own. Sometimes I also fold a towel up in the pet carrier when I have to take a cat to the vet, just so the bottom is a bit softer.
Cat Cocktails Tank Top – Listed Value $22.99
OK, nobody needs to see my triceps right now (but I am lifting weights and hopefully that will change at some point). But I can use this as a workout shirt; my basement exercise room is getting quite hot, even with the air conditioning on. The design is cute even though I don’t drink.
Cat Travel Bottles – Listed Value $12.99
I don’t travel so often (arranging care for chronically ill animals is difficult, can you imagine explaining Sneaky’s asthma inhaler to my 70-year-old parents?). However, I did have to stay in the hospital for a couple of nights after surgery in 2017, and then I spent most of the week after on the first floor of my house because stairs were a problem, and I can see the use of items like this in those circumstances, as well (decanting from the larger face wash and body lotion bottles to have a small supply of frequently used products close by, for example). I may fill one of these from a large bottle of hand lotion I’ve been having trouble using up and keep it in my purse, too. These are a TSA-approved size and have a texture that should be good for squeezing the last little bit of product out.
Gratuitous cat pictures:
Angus has moved back from the dining room table to the stairs for playtime. Look at those claws! And he is channeling Mr. Kitty by biting the toy in the last photo.
Here’s Madison with some of the toys from the box. He has apparently learned from Monkey the technique of rubbing his face on every item I hold up to him.
Here is the original face-rubber in action.
Sneaky was disappointed there wasn’t food involved. That’s Sneaky for you. Sometimes she will play with toys, but she wasn’t in the mood this day.
Verdict: I calculated a value of about $70.95 for the June 2019 Crazy CatLadyBox. I don’t travel much but I can find other uses for the travel-related items around my house, where the bright colors will definitely perk me up. The toys were hits this month with my cats, as well.
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Officially your subscription would start with July’s box, but way back when I signed up, I was contacted to say there were a few of the current month’s box leftover and asked if I’d like one of those. So it may be worth inquiring.
Value Breakdown: At a price of $39.99 for this box, you are paying approximately the following per item:
- Flamingo toy $3.38
- Toucan toy $3.38
- Towel $12.96
- Shirt $12.96
- Bottles $7.32
