Sooni Mask Pouch April 2019 Review
Here is the info sheet for the box. Since I also receive the regular Sooni Pouch box (review coming soon!), this pouch of sheet masks was tucked into the larger packaging.
On the other side of my info sheet is a note that my pouch was prepared by Sara!
A’Pieu Icing Sweet Bar Watermelon Mask – Retail Value $2
A’Pieu is one of my favorite K-Beauty brands, and I have tried other variations of this same mask before and enjoyed them. This is made with watermelon extract, green tea extract, pomegranate extract, and witch hazel to nourish and balance your skin, and I enjoyed the light watermelon scent.
Jant Blanc Plentiful Essential Snail Mask
Jant Blanc is a brand that I really only see from Sooni Pouch, but I have found that the products perform well, so it doesn’t bother me too much. I liked how well this mask fit my eyes, nose, and mouth, and while this mask wasn’t cooling the way a lot of sheet masks are, it was still comfortable. I am not sure if the snail secretion filtrate was able to do much since I only wore this mask for 20 minutes, but my skin looked brighter and more nourished after using.
Jant Blanc Plentiful Essential Aloe Mask
To be honest, though this has aloe rather than snail, I couldn’t really tell a difference in performance between the two Jant Blanc masks this month. Both were hydrating and soothing, though, so I’ll take it.
IntoSkin The Mud Lifting Mask – Retail Value $5.16
This is a two-step mask that includes an eye cream you apply before the sheet mask. I found the cream to be rich and hydrating, but it still absorbed easily into my skin. Since so much eye cream is included, I also applied it to my neck, and I was happy with how it performed there. The sheet mask that followed was comfortable to wear, cooling, and my skin was happier after using. The IntoSkin mud masks are some of my favorite masks out there, so I am not bothered about this being a repeat item from back in September.
The Pureness line from TonyMoly features unbleached cotton fibers, and there are tiny specks in the mask that remind me that this is real cotton on my face (if that makes sense!) I liked this mask a lot. It had a lot of nourishing essence packed with hydrating hyaluronic acid and glycerin, but it didn’t drip all over my neck. I wore this one evening after I had applied my retinol, and I think this provided the boost of moisture I needed since retinol can be drying if you’re not careful with how you layer your products when using it.
Steam107 Yellow Dust Block Mask
I can never find Steam107 masks online, but I have enjoyed the various masks from the brand I have tried. This was a new one for me, and it is designed to nourish and protect your skin’s moisture barrier against pollutants and dust. This is made with shea butter, chia seeds, basil, and oats. I liked how cooling and soothing this was on my skin. The ingredients list, in particular, impressed me, and I would be happy to wear this mask again.
The Verdict: If you enjoy sheet masking, I honestly think the Sooni Mask Pouch is the most affordable and best value subscription box that exclusively focuses on masks. I thought this month was a good mix of well-known brands (A’Pieu and TonyMoly) and lesser-known brands (Steam 107 and Jant Blanc). I couldn’t find a value for all of the masks but the values I did find added up to $11.16 for three of them, which is more than the cost of the box. Considering the price per mask breaks down to $1.67, it is hard to be unhappy even if you don’t like all of the masks sent every month.
