I’ve been trying to post a comment warning people not to use the simple syrup from the RV boxes (it’s well over a year expired, per the owner of 1821 Bitters), but the comments don’t seem to go through. I just wanted to check in case these types of comments aren’t allowed and I’m just not aware!
Thanks!

Just a word of caution to anyone who bought the Old Fashioned box – don’t use the simple syrup! I had reached out to RV last week to make sure we wouldn’t be getting the same batch of old product from over a year ago. They said they got new batches for anything that may have been perishable. However, when the box arrived, I noticed that the bitters and simple syrup were marked as being from the same batch as the original boxes. I contacted 1821 Bitters directly to check on the shelf life of the bitters and simple syrup before assuming it’s okay, and here is their response:
“Bitters have no expiration date. The syrup, however has a one year shelf life and needs to be refrigerated after opening. These were only sent to Robb Vices for a one time box quite a while ago (the box was released over a year ago) and the syrup is well past its use by date.”
I guess it’s possible RV didn’t know simple syrup expires? I’ve asked RV what can be done to either replace this with unexpired product or give people partial refunds for the unusable simple syrup.
As a side note – one of my boxes also came with a shattered bottle of ginger beer (which I somehow cut my finger on when cleaning up). Hope everyone else’s showed up in one piece!

Looks like BOGO is still available. I just received my boxes and was missing two of the items from the Boozy Breakfast box. Super annoyed. Hopefully they fix quickly.

Paid premium shipping and ordered on May 2nd still no tracking number. Was hoping to give it for Mother’s Day 🙁

I was wondering about shipping notifications! They charged $25 for premium (no other option) but it’s been a week and I’ve heard nothing. Did they happen to give any idea as to how long we’d have to wait for items to be shipped?

I’m getting worried. I don’t understand why pay premium shipping when a week has passed and radio silence from them. I have written to customer service. This is not right. Unacceptable

I got two of the “New Old Fashioned” boxes. I really wanted the one with the smoker in it, but it was sold out.
I do have a concern about the expiration dates on some of the items (the bitters, simple syrup, caramel, etc.). I’m hoping these aren’t on sale primarily because they contain expired items! I’m nervous this is just the same stock from a year and a half ago. If so, it can’t all still be within the “Use by” date at this point, right?
Also, FYI – they’re requiring a $25 premium shipping charge, so it ended up being $144 for my two boxes.

Hey Liz! Is there any way to get free shipping on the multiple boxes? I went to order two, but the deal was spoiled by $25 shipping. Thanks!

My recent comment didn’t go through, either – or maybe there’s just a delay?
