Elevita April 2019 Review

Once again, everything arrived in this lovely cotton drawstring bag! Such a nice bonus!

Elevita April 2019 - Booklet Front

This is the letter I received in my package this month, detailing the contents. I especially appreciate the detail it provides about the artisans who created this month’s handicrafts. It gives it such a special, personal touch!

Trivet, Philippines

What a cool trivet! It’s a great design, not only in terms of aesthetics, but I think the open design will keep the table cool for sure. I wish I knew what it is made out of, though. The info sheet says it was hand-made by artisans in the Philippines out of “all-natural materials.” I’m glad to have it, anyway.

June Freshwater Pearl Necklace, Pearls With Purpose – Retail Value $35

I love this necklace! Look at how pretty it is! That’s a genuine freshwater pearl on a sterling silver chain with an “antique” charm. It’s really a beautiful piece. Pearls With Purpose is a nonprofit organization that helps women in underdeveloped countries get training and dignified work. They operate in India, Cambodia, and the Philippines.

Batik Scarf, Ghana

I think this would actually make a better headscarf than neck but I couldn’t deal with my hair the day I took these pictures, haha. It’s just gorgeous! I love it! It’s hand-batiked by women in Ghana who are part of a fair-trade sewing organization. The pattern is really pretty.

The Verdict: Elevita is awesome! I really appreciate everything they do to help global artisans, and I love feeling like I’m a part of that. This month’s items were all great! I am having a hard time deciding if I love the necklace or the scarf more! I can’t often find values for the items Elevita sends, but I always feel like the value far outstrips the cost of the box. $30 plus free shipping for these lovely items is a steal!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No. Sign up by the 18th to get the current month’s box.

Value Breakdown: This box cost me $30 with free shipping, which means that each of the 3 items in the box has an average cost of $10.
