Hello All! Can anyone tell me what the color of the Browgal pencil is? I love the Browgal pencil and have been using it for awhile now. Unfortunately, the pencil was stolen along with other items when my car was broken into last week. I want to purchase a replacement but I am not able to find out which color they sent in the box. I even called Allure to inquire but they weren’t sure either. Does anyone have the pencil still and can let me know what the color is?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Not my favorite box, but I got a weird little black bag that says Beaury Loot, with a few extra things inside it this month. Iis this something allure does randomly?

Digging it all, just got my June Box, I guess May’s in the in the mail LOL
Though its not an impressive box, its interesting.
I like the Avene, it will be nice for a travel size ( I live in FL and lived off of that last year)
I just ran out of one of my ABH pencils so I am interested to see how light this pencil is
The gloss is a take it or leave it. I may save for daughter for Xmas stocking stuffer
Will definitely use the moroccan oil as I tried to go cheap after using some great hair oil by eve but I definitelt love this brand, so I am pretty sure it will be great for my frizz
Excited to try the texturizing spray in conjuction with my dry shampoo
The eye cream I’ll probably use at night and see if it helps the puffy eyeballs that I cover up with Needles no more.

I be gotten that eye cream from Glossybox awhile back. It’s made in China. I’ve already cancelled other boxes because of this. I’ve complained to Allure before asking why we get stuff made in China. they are sending out more & more from there. Saying “P.R.C” is still China but some brands think it’s looks better.

I came here to see if I can find spoilers for July August because I hate made in China products and I’m not too happy about getting 2 in this box.

Made in China products are getting so hard to avoid. A few companies actually check the labor conditions of their factories and most carefully source ingredients, but who can tell. I hate it and can’t imagine there’s a good reason to make these things in China except greed. Dollar store makeup is often made in China, but it’s only a dollar then. Paying these super premium prices and then charging as much as Italian, French, or US made things makes no sense to me. I hope that they aren’t trying to save money on manufacturing costs to make inclusion in these low priced subscription boxes possible.

The website says all of their products are made in USA….

Thats not true. The brow pencil and the lip gloss are both made in China.

thanks for mentioning this before i re subbed. any skin/makeup or any product in general from China is always a no from me, no matter what the full size “price” is

Why, other then buy from the USA, is it bad if it comes from China?

I subbed along time ago, and kept it for about 2 years. Then they started the bait and switch, and were just not great for a while. I resubbed a little over a year ago and I’ve been pleased with the boxes. This month I called CS because my box arrived already opened and my Jason Seo powder was barely half full. They sent me a new box, no questions asked and I just got it a couple days ago. It had all the same products I got first box but the Jason Seo powder was all the way full. Also I got the earings on my 1 year resub month. I hate that some people are having such bad luck! I think for the 15$ this is a pretty solid box.

ATTENTION!!! If you are like me and decided to skip the month of May but you want the June box, I suggest calling them. I called yesterday to confirm and was told that my account was canceled. No! That is not what I said at all. I’m sure they can see who took the call and put in false information. I ended up speaking to a supervisor about it. I’m not happy about some CSR deciding to cancel my account when I said specifically that I only wanted to skip May’s box! There was no apology, no incentive to stay, nothing. Just a snide sounding woman saying,”Ya. Ya. I hear you. You’ll get your June Allure Beauty Box. Don’t worry too much. Ok?” Wth?! No their CS supervisors are being jerks too?! I was pretty specific that I do expect the exact items Allure has released that will be in the box. Her response was,”Yep! You and everybody else.” I told her that none of this is my doing and I know it’s not hers either but that doesn’t give you the right to be rude and snippy especially when I haven’t been. Have a nice day sweetheart. 🙄

I didnt think you could ever “skip boxes” I’ve been with them about 5 years or so and they just tell you to cancel and resub the next month during the time frame if you dont want a certain months box.
Reply
Dawna
I didn’t either but after reading on here, people said to call and if you get a jerk CSR, hang up and call back but make sure you always get their name at the beginning of the call.

i love allure…they have been very good to me…sending me extra free boxes…allure is one of the best overall..

See??? That’s part of my problem with Allure. They say that they do those things but they don’t do that for every customer. After being a loyal subscriber for over 2 years, not once have I ever gotten an “anniversary” gift, earrings, necklace, extra boxes or anything else for that matter. I had to push them about sending my sign up gift which was a Doucce eyeshadow palette at the time. After that, it was smooth sailing until about 6 months ago with the variations thing and missing items. It took almost 3 months to get the items that were left out of my January box. Then, as I read what other subscribers say here on MSA, I’m a bit blown away. New subscribers getting necklaces and extra items in their 1st box?! Yet, I’ve been loyal and never received anything extra?! I keep hearing about people getting extra boxes and random gifts just out of the blue?! But what I get as a loyal subscriber in my April box is repeated products with a card stating that I’m getting the crap, bottom of the barrel box?! But all the new subscribers got the good, advertised boxes and some got gifts, extras and extra boxes? I’m happy Allure treats you well.
April
Finally, a brow pencil!! I go through 1 every 2 months! Ipsy never sent me one in 14 months so I cancelled them.

I have had an Allure BB sub for years and it is still my favorite. I will admit that ever since they got a new beauty curator last year, it’s been a lot more “miss” than hit for me lately. I am the only person that has noticed the change?
Reply
Justjamey
Nope you’re not. She was changed a year and a half or so ago and the curation has went down. Sad thing is, if you’re a loyal subscriber, then you get the same items every year. Last year we got the tanning foam as this year…same company same everything. Like I want to try new products and not junk. I spent a lot of money on items I find that work for me and that’s why I sub to boxes and allure used to be very good, but since shes taken over, it’s been awful. I kind of wonder if they will be around in the next few years.
It seems they keep luring new people in with full bottles of perfume, Sunday riley and all this great stuff, but people that have been around for years and loyal get stuck with awful boxes of stuff you cant GIVE away most of the time. And with ipsy and boxy, and the price point of allure, and the connections of allure, you would think they would step it up and bring some great things to the boxes.

So that’s why it’s changed! Yeah I’ve noticed a change… Spehora alos, I sadly dropped them… I’ve gone from 12 a month subs to 2 Macy’s bags, 1 Allure, Look Fantastic, and 2 Ipsy Glam PLUS BC I can skip a month if I don’t like the spoilers. I finally dropped boxycharm and boxycharm luxe. It’s just not what it was and my taste have changed.

You’re not the only who has noticed. I’m leaning toward canceling. I’m wondering if maybe they’ve lost some of their relationships with brands or if something else is going wrong. My biggest issue is that I don’t like the way they’re handling their variations. At least most of my other boxes give fairly equal price between variations. I might get mascara where someone else gets an eyeliner or a brow product and usually they’re from the same or very similar brands, but how did I get anti-frizz sheets while other people got an AmorePacific cream? I miss consistently getting deluxe samples of higher end products or really solid drugstore products. Lately, Allure sends 1-2 items I can use and the rest are either duds in terms of quality or they’re things I can’t use because the color isn’t workable or they are genuinely useless like all the tan products they’ve sent. I’m black. I don’t need self-tanner and most of my friends who would use them, don’t want them. I’m giving it another three months and then I’m canceling if they haven’t gotten more consistent.

No, you’re not the only one who’s noticed Gena. This box has nosedived in quality IMO, and the variations format they’re now using totally stinks. Especially when subscribers are receiving items that are so widely different in value. Not to mention the confusing spoilers they release. Who knows which items you’re going to receive in the end. I’ve been with Allure for almost 5 straight years, but I just cancelled.

How do you skip a month?? I really don’t want the June box but went on the website and can’t figure it out.

I just called and put my subscription on “pause” indefinitely. When I want to receive the box again, I just call and tell them. So I’m waiting until I see something good coming up! The last few boxes have been awful.

I put my sub on skipping May, and now June. I’m just not all that impressed, sadly. 😒 July’s orange-red lippie they’ve posted just doesn’t excite me, either. I’m starting to rethink Allure…

I’ve been with Allure beauty box for 3 yrs now. While occasionally I may get something I can’t / don’t use, I just give it away. I just spread the love. I’m still happy with Allure. The only thing I REALLY miss is the little red box. I don’t like the vinyl pouch (that comes in a box). My pouches have come with a side ripped open 3 months straight now. I just toss them or give them away. I loved the little red box. (Am I the only one who liked the box?) Allure’s customer service has been nothing but great with me on several issues from broken items, missing items, my box sent to a different address, my box stolen from my mailbox, etc. They’ve always been very courteous with me. I think I’ll stick with them. But I did cancel my Glossybox, Sephora Play box & Lola Beauty Box. Glossy box isn’t the same & Sephora kept getting “smaller” & Lola Beauty Box just stopped sending out boxes. No spoilers, no communication, no response to customer inquiries via email or on social media. Comments made by customers were being deleted. Sad, I really liked them too. Allure is still a great value every month.

Yeah I cancelled boxycharm and Sephora play too, Allure is still my fave! I’m excited for all of these products, except the brow pencil, I really hate when any box sends a peoduct like that, because it won’t work for everyone! But the rest are products I know I’ll use.

Listen I totally agree Allure is a bit or miss , with more miss lately , but I still love this sub and am holding out until they come back to their glorious days , however I will say their shipments are always way late – still haven’t gotten my May box :/ and we’re heading into June wow .. maybe I won’t get it at all and don’t care for their customer service (sighs)

Are there variations for June?
I haven’t seen any, and if this is the box I’ll get, oh well….

Hi MSA, do you know if the June boxes will have the annoying variation issues the last few months have had? If this is the box that I will for sure get, it looks great and useful. But if it is like the last few months and they are going to really cheap out on the non featured version, than I’d like to know so I can cancel. Thanks.

Question: Has anyone else been receiving free allure boxes…I got my may that I paid for, then I got a box not paid for last week , but is was last months box again..then today I received another free box, but this was a different box, some what was in may’s box…what is going on? I mean, i’m ok with free boxes just wondering if anybody else got this..

I have the opposite problem, I got charged twice and got one box of random ass products left over from the last few boxes. Oh well, what did I expect, lol

I am always hoarding good eye creams, and with this one having Vitamin C, i really hope it isn’t a variation as this and the hair oil are all that truly interest me in this box. I still have 2 cans of fancy water from BF I haven’t used yet. With hot months ahead I am sure I will find a use though.
I really wish Allure would go back to their old business model which had no variations. I keep holding on knowing that while some months aren’t great, other months are amazing. I figure as long as I can find one product I would pay $15 for it is worth it. Some months that is much harder than others. :S

Same. The eye cream and the Moroccan oil are the reasons I’m getting this box. I need to travel some but don’t have to fly. I need a small bottle of oil in my bag.

I cancelled and Allure was very cool about it – didn’t try to hook me with a deal or anything. I’ve been pretty happy with the box but I’m just getting overloaded with product.

I just received that hair spray in the target beauty box. Is it really allure box worthy????
Reply

Why would it not be? It’s one of those filler items. I’ve gotten Allure boxes with some drug store brands before. I also got that spray in the Target box so that’s one of the reason I am skipping this box

Not my favorite month but still my favorite box! The only thing I wish they’d trade out is the brow pencil, there is no such thing as a universal shade, and it looks way too dark for most people.

I was wondering to? How does it differ from Amazon to ordering straight from Allure?
Reply
Kristen
Can you tell me why/how there is more control subscribing through Amazon?
Reply
Charlotte
Amazon charges you on the same day every month (the day you subscribed through Amazon). You know when the charge is coming and you can even arrange for it to be later month if you need to. I got so sick of never knowing when exactly Allure would deign to collect their money from me.
Nat
Easy to unsubscribe if you don’t like the box. Subscribing through Allure you have to call to cancel. You get tracking when your box is shipped. It usually shipped earlier than Allure
Barbara
Kristen: When you order through Amazon, you can cancel very easily and/or resubscribe at the flick of a finger. There’s no need to wrangle the issue with ALLURE’s very bad Customer Service or wait to talk to someone.
Barbara
Gabriela if you are really interested, the May box is available through Amazon right now…
