Medusa's Make-Up Beauty Box is a vegan and cruelty-free makeup box. Each month you will receive a delivery of 3-5 vegan products. The shades and colors are always pretty unique and exciting and the packaging is also to die for! I am really curious about the dark grey lipstick included this month.

Lipstick in 'Muddy Waters', 3.5 g – Retail Value $12.00 (found on sale here for $10.20)

This was the product this month that I was the most curious about. This lipstick is a really interesting, buildable, dirty grey. The finish is slightly sheer and satiny, and I actually had to apply a ton of it to get an opaque look. There is no scent to speak of. While I appreciate that this lipstick didn't look absolutely terrible on me, it is not a shade I would regularly wear, though I wish I had the nerve to!

More wearable than I thought, but not my most flattering choice.

Totally Baked Eyeshadow in 'Tubuler', 2 g – Retail Value $9.00 (found on sale here for $7.65)

BAM this stuff is pigmented! This color is exactly the shade I would wear in high school when I was very much into bold makeup and combat boots. The color is gorgeous, bold, and shimmeringly multifaceted. The formula has minimal fallout, and none at all if you apply with your fingertips. This would make an incredible wet liner.

Liquid Eyeshadow in 'Ginger', 3 ml – Retail Value $13.00 (found on sale here for $11.05)

Ok, I was really impressed by this stuff. It is a sheer wash of silvery shimmer, not an opaque chrome finish like I first thought. The admittedly hard to capture micro-shimmer has shades of purple, pink, and green, and the coverage is buildable. It honestly reminds me a little of the Glossier Lidstar look but with a little less longevity.

Stick It! Eye Primer, 0.2 oz – Retail Value $9.00 (found on sale here for $7.65)

I already have a favorite eyeshadow priming product, but this stuff is much more lightweight and seems geared more towards helping your eye dust and glitters stay in place. Despite its nude look, it goes on totally sheer and is full of vegan waxes and oils that grab onto loose pigments and powder shadows. It did seem to give my regular powdered eyeshadows more staying power, but I feel like I had more noticeable creases by the end of the day.

Verdict: This month's Medusa's Makeup box has a value of $43.00 which is great for a $16.95 beauty box. I am still kind of confused about my feeling on the lipstick, but I really want to love it! The teal eyeshadow was a nostalgic throwback sort of color that I plan on holding onto until I can get brave enough to wear it. I absolutely loved the silvery liquid eyeshadow. The primer will never replace my favorite, but it might be good to hold onto until summer because my go-to is rather heavy.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes. All orders are generally processed within 1-3 business days. You will receive the box month that you sign up in.

  • Lipstick $4.73

  • Liquid Eyeshadow $5.12

Alternatively, each item in this box has an average cost of $4.24.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

That lipstick looks great on you. Lots of plum shades look pretty gray anyway, so it doesn’t even look unusual.

Use the lipstick over your normal colors to deepen them slightly, kind of like the Black Lace Rabbit from Lipstick Queen. It adds a whole other dimension to your current colors!

Your reviews always help me figure out what to keep and what to give my girls 🙂 I was going to gift the liquid eye shadow, but seeing it swatched I think I am going to keep it. It is definitely more sheer and wearable than it looked in the tube. My youngest will be thrilled with the blue instead, she is into cosplay and bright colors.

Not sure on the lipstick, but I’ll give it a try, if it doesn’t work I know one of my two will take it.

LOL I was a combat boot wearer too, though I preferred the dark punk goth look myself. Raccoon eyes anyone?? 😉

Jury is still out on the lipstick for me too! I really wish I was trendy enough to wear it, but those days might be gone haha

Now that is a unique color but I like it! It’s nice to see something different.

Megan, I think that lipstick looks great on you! I just resubscribed to this box recently. I’m always on the fence about it because many products are just too young for me. But I like a lot of their staple products and skincare so it’s usually worth the cost of the box for me. Until I read your review I figured I wouldn’t even bother trying that lipstick. But after your description and how it looks on you I think I’ll be brave!

Thanks Dani! I really want to make it work, but I might not be bold enough, makeup wise. I still really enjoyed trying it!
