Ipsy Reveals Are Up for the April 2019 Glam Bag!

I’m a little grumpy that of two color options for a lippie, they sent me the taupe, even though the other option (and EVERY OTHER OPTION, it seems) was an actual red, which I prefer.

…huh. and now it’s not letting me see ANY of my spoilers. Which is…weird and tedious.

…this really might be my last month with ipsy, I think.

I forgot that I signed up for the regular Ipsy and I added an item onto my Ipsy Plus that is in my regular bag. Oops. LOL. Well at least Ipsy got it right by giving me something I wanted. Plus it was only $3

This is my 3rd ever Ipsy bag and I cannot believe I got to pick my 5th item. It was between stuff I actually wanted too.

I did do a survey last month asking me questions like how would I feel about being able to pick certain amounts of items and how much would I be wiling to pay for certain items whether it be sample size to full size.

I am not sure how many people got to pick, but I asked a friend who has been with Ipsy for over a year and didn’t get the email to pick so maybe unless you did the survey then you didn’t get the pick option.

As far as my beauty preference quiz,

I only asked that I want MOSTLY skin care items and so far I have received a good amount of skin care products for my last 3 bags so I am pretty happy overall so far with IPSY.

That being said..IPSY and IGBP is one Sub I will never cancel, overall their one of my top 3 🙂 <3

that survey thing did nothing for my bag lol..I said no, and I got the product, I said yes, and I didn’t get the product, so maybe next month I’ll do reverse psychology and pick all the products I love and put no, then I’ll get the one’s I want 🙂 Just a thought..

I am new to Ipsy! When I signed up I received a free gift (PACIFICA – Island Life Eyeshadow Palette) the email said would be included in my first bag, but I don’t see it in my glam bag reveal. Does anyone know if it’s supposed to show up there or if it will just be shipped with the bag?

I have to say, I think I like everything in my bag. There is definitely an item or 2 I might not use all the time, but for a $10 sample bag this is great. It gives me exposure to items and brands I’d otherwise never try. I really like my bag.

I also ordered add ons that I’m so excited for. $12 for the HUDA BEAUTY- Obsessions Palette in Smokey. That’s such a good price. So excited to get it!

LAURA SANCHEZ Moods Eyeshadow in Rose Gold Woman. Looks like a good basic shade that I will punch up with something but glad to be getting it.
TARTE Double Duty Beauty™ Base Tape Hydrating Primer–I love Tarte stuff and I can’t wait to try this.

This month, I did my very first add-on and I went for the PURLISSE
Watermelon Energizing Aqua Balm because it is a super moisturizer and the last time I had a sample of this, it lasted a very long time.

I have to say, the Tarte primer isn’t the most exciting thing, but at least it’s supposed to be a hydrating primer. I would have preferred a skincare product instead, but the rest of the bag is great! I especially wanted both the Purlisse peel and the Balmjour lip cream! I did add two add ons for the first time in my 6 months of subscribing to Ipsy:

That eyeshadow color was too pretty to pass up, and I have high hopes for both colors of those Balmjour lip creams!

Ugh, another month another bag of stuff I won’t use. This is getting old.

Getting yet ANOTHER black eyeliner. The only saving grace is that it’s not liquid.

Also getting another Buxom mascara. I have the full size and I’m not that wild about it.

And the Vasanti brush, the Moroccan Miracle balm and the Laura Sanchez shadow in Rose Gold Woman.

Happy with April’s bag. ☺️

Last month was a perfect match! April is a 4/5 match. I won’t use the mascara or the watermelon mask. I did add on 2 shades of it Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye, light neutral & medium neutral were the shades available when I went to my Ipsy app 10 minutes prior to when the add on sale is supposed to start. It did seem as though some things were already sold out. I’m liking the whole add on thing.

QUESTION- Did a lot of you get the Tarte primer? I got 3 regular Glam Bags and each one has that product. I don’t use primer, I’m into the ” moisturizer before makeup” age group.

I’m not in the swap group or I’d have 3 to swap when the bags arrive. I’m sure it’s a nice product for those who use primers. 🙂

I’m super happy with my bag:

Boxom Lash Volumizing Mascara – I always like travel sized mascara
TheBalm Lip Stain in Konnichiwa – I’m a lipstick junkie and this color looks really nice
Law Beauty Nail Polish in Purrrrplicious – I don’t paint my nails often but the color is pretty
Apto Skincare Mask with Blue Spirulina – I’m always up for a new mask
Tarte Base Tape Primer – I’ve been looking for a good primer so I’m happy to try it out.

I would have added the IT concealer but they don’t have a shade fair enough for me. I’m really tempted to add more of the lip stains.

Man, what a disappointing bag. I did the “Improve your glam bag” survey and only got things I explicitly said I did not want 🙁 What a bummer.

I skipped for two months and re-upped only to get my worst bag yet.
Buxom mascara – good, trial sized mascaras are perfect for me
TheBalm lip stain – maybe, looks a little dark for me; if not then it’s the same color I already have tons of, and I only like glosses anyway
Apto Skincare mask – good, I’ll use this after plane travel
Eye shadow brush – I can use brushes, but not more for eyes!
Nomad eye shadow in Blue Lagoon – no way, no how, unless it’s a lot more subtle in person than in the photo

So 2 for 5. Really wanted the Tarte and always a fan of body butters, so good stuff was out there.

My bag was mediocre this month. I got:

Aptos mask: yay, love any mask that’s not “peel off.”

Purlisse Peel + Polish: sounds like a gel based exfoliator. Will see if my skin likes it. I’ve liked other Purlisse things in the past.

Tarte Base Tape: I know a lot of people wanted this, but I have an oily T-zone, so a mattifying primer would be better than a hydrating one for me.

The Balm lip stain in Konnichiwa: I was hoping to get a The Balm lip stain, but this color looks orangey.

Law nail polish in purple: yuck. I said in my survey that I rarely use nail polish. And the purple shade is just unflattering on my warm skin tone.

Ticked eyeliner rarely and all colors rarely besides Brown and got a black liner from sugar. A foaming cleanser and I have dry skin. 😧 I have so many other item marked to receive often…come on Ipsy!

That new quiz seems to be working as I got exactly the items I would have selected – was spared bronzers – the only makeup item I need less than highlighters. At least I use highlighters even though I don’t need 20 of them :-).

Benefit High Brow Pencil – intrigued at trying this as it isn’t anything I have

It Brush – Great brush. I already own it but you can never have too many great brushes. It’s really excellent for buffing out my foundation – I am currently using Feinty liquid. I had cystic acne so buffing with this brush (plus a good primer) really does a great job of masking (to the extent possible) my scars.

Goldfaden – am always happy to try eye cream

Paris Hilton cleanser – while normally I would be meh on something by any celebrity, the reviews on this were pretty positive. If it smells nice and feels good when using, I’m fine with it as I don’t need “miracles” from my face soap.

Thank god no Girlactik Sparkle, no bronzer and the blush palette doesn’t look right for my skin tones.
