Cancelled glossy box, nothing in their makes me look forward to each month. I’ve been disappointed and decided to use my money I saved elsewhere on other subs. The packaging is gorgeous for glossybox but forget the boxes and ribbons , put the money towards great products , and I would think about resubbing.

I’m trying to cancel a subscription for my daughter, this is proving very difficult, can anybody help?

I’ve been happy with the last couple of boxes and I hope I get this variation. I just re-subbed and was able to use my survey credits and got 3 months for $29. Very excited about that, less than $10 a box.

I use.to sub to glossy… I got Those John organic shampoo and conditioner from glossy last year and they didn’t smell great and are still rolling around… Everything is tiny in this box… Glossy hasn’t pulled me back and it’s prob been a year or so. They used to be good.. idk what happened..

Same here. Smaller box this month, and all but one items are sample sized. The one that wasn’t was a shadow stick so hard it hurt my eyelid to use! Bye bye Glossybox!

I do think that this box is better than the last four Glossy has created. It’s kind of strange to have two of the same product. Might have been nice to have a larger size of the item, maybe with a pump, but perhaps that’s being to choosy. I’m not thrilled, but not too disappointed either. I got the three month deal for $13 a box. I don’t believe I’d want to pay full price for Glossy anymore.

I just ordered the Butter London eye shadow serum that is supposed to combat aging, just like this Juice Beauty eye product. I guess I should have waited!
I just got a sample of the overnight peel from Birchbox, and I loved it! I’m happy to get more! The link they gave us above goes to Ulta, where it is currently buy one, get one 50% off. I’m contemplating whether or not I should do that since I will be getting one in this box. I can’t tell what size we are getting in Glossybox.
I’m on board with any lip product and any hydrator, so it’s all a win for me! I’ll just be swapping the shampoo and conditioner because I simply have too many at this time.

I have enough shampoo/conditioner to last me through zombie apocalypse, but it doesn’t go bad, so no too bad. Other items are OK. Was really hoping for a lipstick.

This is a really nice box! I’m so happy we’ll be receiving not one, but two of the Kiehl’s Hydrator. That’s wonderful!

Loving this box!!😍

This looks good to me. I know I’m probably in the minority here but I don’t mind getting shampoo and conditioner in sub boxes. They always get used rather quickly compared to say, a black mascara that will just sit there because I have so many

I’m so excited for this box! I love then f different shampoos and conditioner. Normally everything I get in my glossyboxes is stuff I’ll use

Glossybox has a new policy. If a person subscribes after the 14th of the month to receive that month’s box, they will also be billed for the next month’s box . The second billing is done when others are billed for the next month’s box, not on sign up.

I was not notified of this when signing up for a particular month’s box recently, but when I cancelled, the cancellation email said that my subscription would be cancelled after the next month’s ” obligation” was met.

I called them to ask about this, and they said that the ” cut off date” for cancellations is the 14th of the previous month. Somehow, while they are sending out the initial boxes after the 14th, they still believe they have the legal right to charge for an extra month. When asked why, they stated it was for ” supply control reasons”.

I hope everyone is aware of this half- month loophole the Hut Group has created regarding Glossybox payments.
My advice is to pay via PayPal and enlist their help for an unauthorized charge.

Also, Look Fantastic is doing a variation of this. They offer a single box at one price, and a subscription box at a lower price. Most people will select the subscription box, as that’s what we’re used to buying. However, Look Fantastic then locks the customer into 12 months of payments because the ” subscription term length” is 12 months. Since they only charge per box, not per 12 month length at a time, it’s not easy to know that they will lock a subscriber into 12 months. They will not allow cancellations of the box shipments and charges before the 12 months are up. They do offer the alternative of paying for the years’ boxes and not receiving them, ;(

The way I dealt with this when I learned about it was to put a non- working but not expired card into the payment section of my account. No further charges for boxes not shipped could be made.

The best way would have been to buy a single box at around $3.00 higher price, had I known what they were doing.
Note- this may be stated in the very tiny lettering in the agreement terms, but I can’t read it at all due to my sight problems.. and since it’s never been mentioned here, I expect a lot of people see the monthly charge and don’t know it means ” this much for 12 months”.

I’m sorry this isn’t positively glowing, but it is the way the HUT Group has structured both boxes payments, and the info may help some new or returning subscribers.

Look Fantastic has a month to month and 3 6 and 12 mo subscription. I know with each renewal that I’m locked in for 3 boxes if I don’t turn the auto renew off it would continue to roll over. It works that way with all of their subscription lengths. I don’t feel like it’s scammy at all but I intended to stay subscribed for the time the subscription length was for.

I agree! I actually like doing it that way better bc I don’t like paying a larger sum for my boxes up front! I actually wish all boxes would do this…. yeah but Lookfantastic is pretty clear about the pricing ( like it’s not in small print or anything) and honestly if I had a problem seeing the smaller print I’d prob not buy Bc you just never know! If you can’t read it maybe take a screenshot of it that way you can then go back and enlarge the print you can’t read😉

Miss Pippa

I found all the information about the Look Fantastic box perfectly clear when I signed up. I knew exactly what I was committing to.

I cannot read most fine print terms due to non-correctable vision problems. All other subs ( except Glossybox’s ” sure, get this month’s box right here, but we are going to also charge you for the next month automatically too) have an upfront price and it’s what it
says it is and nothing more or less.
When I buy a yearly subscription to FabFitFun, they charge me $179 right then. It’s upfront.

When I bought a Look Fantastic box, it was not for any length term. However, they said I clicked on a photo of their box that was for a yearly subscription. It was $17.00 plus some few cents, because that’s what MSA had put in the review for the price.

I’ve never seen a yearly commitment to a subscription stated as $17.00 due except the LF box.

I don’t understand why they don’t charge the entire years’ worth of boxes at one time. I’d have seen the large total, and would have closed my browser and ordered the box differently for the
one month I liked the products.

Thanks for your kind comment. 😉

The cutoff for Glossybox cancellations has always been around the 14th of the previous month for as long as I remember. Usually they wait to offer deals until after that date to make sure the subscriber is also on the hook for at least one more month at full price. People have posted many warnings on any deal posted here…but may have gotten tired of it lately.

Reply ButtonReply

Lilly

I never read any warnings about the subscription date, nor did I know this was their policy.
I do not think it’s legally binding. PayPal will be dealing with them. 😉

Thanks for letting me know.. I guess I was a subscriber before the current company bought it. My last boxes were 2 Mother’s Day 2018 boxes, because I loved the presentation and the products.

There was something I wanted in last month’s box but I don’t recall what now. The billing policy wiped the rest of it out of sight.

I am so excited about this month. What a great cure for last month’s disappointment. There’s even a shampoo I can actually use. Plus, Kiehl’s is a long time fave of mine. This is such an excellent selection.
