Cat Lady Box April 2019 Review
Cat Lady Box is always full of fun, cat-themed lifestyle items. Let’s see what was in store for April:
I love how the information cards have custom artwork every month. And the back has more information about the items in the box.
There was also a card letting us know next month’s theme (Cat Mom’s Day, they do one of these every year).
Flying Butterfly Toy – Listed Value $5.99
This requires one AAA battery (not included, but we always have tons of spares on hand). I think it is absolutely hilarious that there is backward text on the bottom (as you can see, the numbers up above the battery door are in the correct orientation). Anyway, this was a big hit with all of the cats who are not blind (so, everyone but Mr. Kitty).
Raining Cats Raincoat – Listed Value $14.99
My husband was nowhere to be found (maybe at Home Depot?) when I was taking these pictures so you get this awesome selfie taken with the front-facing camera of my iPhone. Anyway, this is somewhat thicker/higher-quality material than those ponchos you buy at the supermarket, plus it is sized (I got S/M) so it fits better, plus it is pink and has cats on it, so it is a win for me (despite the look on my face in the picture). I will probably mostly wear this for walking Nyx.
Bunny Ball Catnip Toy – Listed Value $4.99
This is the other toy for the month, a fuzzy catnip plush. Some of my older boys really liked rubbing their faces/chins on this, maybe it is a texture thing? I appreciate getting two very different toys this month – there’s something for everyone!
Kitten Pawty Shirt – Listed Value $22.99
Here is the month’s shirt. Yes, this is terribly wrinkly. I have a confession. My husband put our steamer on a high shelf (like above my head) and when I was trying to get it down a week or two ago, it hit the floor and something broke loose inside and it is not working right anymore. I am going to start looking for a good deal on a new one. But that didn’t help this shirt in this photo, sorry about that. This has a Spring Break theme and a vintage style to it and I think it’s a lot of fun and it will make it into my regular weekend cat shirt rotation for sure.
Cat Toothbrush Holder Set – Listed Value $16.99
This is made from a pretty heavy ceramic material. There is absolutely no space on my bathroom counter to put this out (I have like 8 lipstick holders there). But that is OK because I keep thinking about videos like this one where cats are licking people’s toothbrushes (I keep mine in a cabinet). I am thinking of repurposing this for something like office supplies because I do like it and think it’s cute.
Angus and Monkey watch the butterfly toy.
Madison and Sneaky took turns going after the butterfly (Madison took a break to check out the bunny, too).
Monkey rubs his face on things.
At one point, Sneaky grabbed the butterfly in her mouth and dragged it off, which was really quite funny to watch.
You DO NOT DISTURB Mr. Kitty when he is sleeping in the sunny window.
Verdict: I calculated a value of $65.95 for the April 2019 Crazy Cat Lady Box. I was happy with this month’s box. I’ve never received a raincoat in a subscription box before, and the butterfly toy was a surprise hit (I really thought Madison would be afraid but he wasn’t!). All of the items were great for spring, too.
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Officially your subscription would start with May’s box, but way back when I signed up, I was contacted to say there were a few of the current month’s box left over and asked if I’d like one of those. So it may be worth inquiring.
