All He Loves Box April 2019 “Unwind” Review

We received this insert that tells us our theme which is “Unwind” and gives a brief description as well as retail values for each of the items in our box. At the bottom, they give a link to a playlist, which I thought was a nice touch and goes perfectly with the first item in our box!

LSTN Sound Co Anthem Wireless Speaker – Retail Value $69.99

This speaker fits well with our theme of Unwind and would be perfect for bringing outside as you lounge on a hammock or relax outdoors. It is small (6.25″x2″x2.5″- about the size of a chalkboard eraser, but a bit wider) and lightweight making it a great travel speaker. It took me only a few seconds to get this speaker connected to my phone via Bluetooth and once I did, I was impressed with the sound quality and how far the sound reached. The sound is clear and it gets much louder than I would have expected for such a small speaker. I was also able to get a decent range with the Bluetooth connectivity, too. I made it about two rooms away and down my basement stairs before it started cutting out and even took it just outside my kitchen into the backyard with no issues. As for the tech specs (which mean nothing to me, so I can’t speak to them), it features twin 5W 40mm drivers and has a frequency response of 80hz-20khz.

It came with a few accessories including a USB to Micro USB cable as well as a 3.5mm audio auxiliary cable. In addition to Bluetooth and audio cable playback, it also has a slot for a micro SD memory card and even features a built-in microphone at the top so that you can use the speakerphone to answer phone calls. A lot of options in a small package!

The included booklet came with some helpful information, but the best was this page explaining LSTN’s purpose and how every sale goes towards giving hearing aids to people in need worldwide. They’ve helped about 30,000 people so far, which is pretty amazing and makes this speaker that much more awesome!

Drifter Unwind Green Tea Martini Candle, 8 oz – Retail Value $12

This candle smells so good! It’s fresh and clean and not too overpowering. It is described as having a “green tea, cucumber, and citrus scent that makes you want to kick back and relax with a cocktail” and I think that is pretty accurate! I wouldn’t describe the scent as overtly masculine or feminine, but something in the middle that anyone could appreciate. It has a slightly tropical scent to it from the citrus, and I definitely smell the cucumber which adds some crispness to the scent. It is made from all natural beeswax and coconut oil.

Drifter El Dorado Whiskey Soap – Retail Value $8.00

This “manly” soap is handcrafted with barrel-aged whiskey and El Dorado hops. While these are something my husband would happily drink normally, the hops actually contain antioxidants that help your skin fight against inflammation and free radicals while the whiskey acts as an astringent to make your skin appear more youthful. Who knew? As for the scent, it is definitely more manly than I would use for myself (although I’m tempted now that I know the effects!), but it does smell amazing and I will appreciate it once my husband starts using it. It has a clean and fresh smell with sandalwood, fir, lemongrass, bergamot and a bit of a sweet and spicy whiskey finish to it.

Brooklyn Biltong Seasoned Dried Beef in Original, 2 oz. – Listed Value $6.50, Buy 3 packs $24.99 (found here for $19.99)

My husband and I love some beef jerky, but we are also open to trying some healthier versions, so this seasoned, air-dried beef definitely appealed to us. While the texture was good, slightly more tender than jerky, neither of us was a fan of the flavor which is based on a South African recipe with coriander and allspice. It is made from grass-fed beef and contains no preservatives or added sugars, which is great, but also means you need to refrigerate it after opening, something I didn’t see until a few days later. Oops! This bag contains 30 grams of protein and is Paleo and Whole 30-friendly. While this flavor wasn’t for us, I’d definitely give this brand another try!

Verdict: This was another great box from All He Loves that well exceeded the promised value of $70+ since the speaker alone was worth that. Everything else felt almost like a bonus! My husband is not usually one for soaps and candles, but he actually really liked the scent of both of these, as did I. The Biltong was great to try, but the speaker really was the best item for us in the box. We have had several over the years, but this one definitely beats them as far as quality and sound range. We have already been enjoying it as a family and I’m sure we will get a lot more use out of it as the weather warms! The total retail value of these items came to $96.49, which is great for a $50.99 ($45 + $5.99 shipping) box! While this box is for my husband, so far, I have been able to enjoy most of the items just as much as he has!

  1. Is this box still available to order? I would like to order one.

    • Hi Julie, it looks like you would receive the May box, but I would recommend contacting their customer service to see if the April box is still available! It looks like past boxes do sometimes go on sale in their shop as well!

  2. Thank you Brandi for a thorough and awesome review. We appreciate it 🙂

    • Thanks, Trong! Maybe you can answer Julie’s question here? 🙂
