  1. I was there brighten early in Boise Idaho and shocked they were all gone I spoke to a customer service representative there and she told me that each store was only receiving between 20 and 25 bags store so the pickings were Slim to begin with.

  2. Can someone please tell me how to set up alerts for next years beauty bags at whole foods? I never got an alert in my email and probably missed out by now 🙁 but would like to be prepared next year thanks

    • Hello, I actually set the alert on my outlook calendar for the day of the release and was there at 7am. Once the dates for next year’s announced, create a personal alert on your calendar or phone.

  3. @ WF in south FL, there was a display with both colors in front of check out area on a shelf cube and cubbies below were filled w/black bags last night (30th @ 9:30pm)

asked if I could buy blue display and was told (employee not in beauty) that the blue one was already reserved for a WF employee, she then took the blue one in display away, lol

so asked a sweet girl in beauty area + she found a blue; decided to get both as could not recall what each was for + no one knew difference and didn’t have time to sort out…there was no limit on bags; perhaps b/c it’s 2 days later?

when googled last night saw bags selling @ $50+ on the usual sites, crazy!

  4. I am so sad! I still can’t drive & when I called, they were already out. I checked the swap section & saw that so many people had purchased multiples just to swap for the $100 RP. It would be nice if they would limit them to one per person so others of us could just maybe get them them one year…

    • At the store I went to there were a handful of ladies (about 5) that each had multiple kids with them (at least 3 each, both boys & girls and all clearly under the age of 10) and had each of them “buy” one of each bag. I imagine that’s the new way for some people to get multiples now.

      • Maybe that’a why one of my stores were rationing them out and stuck to one bag per customer.

        It’s nice for a $20 but I wouldn’t pay $100 for it.

    • The swap section here? That’s not very nice.

  5. I was thrilled to get mine. I am excited to read the review for this bag as I am a little overloaded on products and wondering which once I should move up in the rotation. Really excited about a lot of the products. I really can’t have enough face masks.

    • I’m curious to see if any of the reviewers leave a review for the bag. Because, no one on here has reviewed a WF beauty bag since ‘16.

  6. How long does it take to get an invite to the swap site?

    • It took me ~3 months.

  7. WF in Silver Spring, Maryland had about 15 black bags left at 8:30 p.m. They are locked in a case near the customer service desk where keep the Amazon echos.

    • Wow so surprising! Because, Columbia, MD WF was sold out by 1pm on the first day.

  8. I wish I had time to snag this but my store doesn’t hold them and I had family from out of town so we already had plans that didn’t include a trip to Whole Foods. 🙁

  9. My Whole Foods still had several black bags left but after looking inside, I decided to pass.
It seemed like half the items were masks or single use items. The two lip balms are also low cost items so I definitely didn’t see $100 in value.
I think I was spoiled by last year’s bag, which was super cute. This one seemed a bit generic.

    • Yea the ‘17 and ‘18 were incredible bags! And, I agree this year was a little lack luster compared to the past two years. But, if you compare these bags to ‘15 and ‘16. ‘19 rocked it out of the park compared to those.

As for this years bags. I definitely think the Blue one was better and the higher value of the two

  10. My bag was missing two items. I’d advise checking the contents before purchase to avoid sadness.

    • i bought the Blue bag at 7am on the 29th. Opened it at work to find the Burt’s bees face wipes were missing. By lunch time 12:30 all the Blue bags were gone. But, the WF’s gave me Yes to Tomatoes wipes (they didn’t have Burt’s Bees wipes avail) from the travel section.

But, yes check your bag before buying. A lot, of people seem to be reporting missing items.

      • That’s nice they let you choose a like product from the travel section. One of my bags (I think the blue bag) was missing the Trilogy cream. 🙁 (however, my mom’s bag had an extra Alba mask!) I think I’ll let it go this year since Whole Foods is a tad out of the way for me, and I’ve already put everything away in their respective places, plus gifted a couple of items, but I’ll definitely try to remember to check the contents before purchasing next year. I’ve never had a problem before with missing items, and it seems like quite a few people had at least one missing product this year.

  11. I just enjoyed using the Whole Foods Market Nourishing Royal Jelly Bio Cellulose Mask from the Self Care Sunday bag. It was lovely, but I’m a little surprised by the amount of non-recyclable packaging for a single-,use sheet mask.

  12. 5 of 14 Items are in both bags:
    1. Acure under eye hydrogels
    2. Welda facial cream
    3. Burt’s Bees facial cleansing
    4. Acure brightening facial scrub
    5. Evanhealy whipped shea butter
    for lips with raspberry seed

The cocockind golden elixir, from the 24-Hour beauty bag, was nearly empty in my bag.

  13. I was able to get both bags at my WF this morning. There was no “line” but there were several of us waiting in our cars (Michigan=cold mornings) for the doors to open and we all rushed the beauty section 🙂 While I’m not convinced that there is $100 worth of products in these they are definitely worth $20. This might seem odd but along with the fact that these bags are handmade and help women in Africa I love the zipper pulls on them. Usually fabric on zipper pulls just goes through the one hole. I really like the way the fabric is wrapped around on these.

    • I was at one of the Michigan stores, too! We were all in our cars, as well. Which one were you at? I went to the West Bloomfield store.

  14. WF in Central Phoenix inlybhad black bags at around 530 pm. Got one!

  15. Got mine around 930 this morning and they were still in boxes, the employee said they didn’t have room on a shelf and he was staying close by, handing them out when someone asked. Still plenty left, but the girl @ checkout said she never heard about them and there were people waiting when the door opened and “one old lady charged through the doors yelling where are the bags” lol! She said it was like flip flop day at old navy 😂

    • Lol 😂

    • That’s amazing you know she is one of us 😅😅

  16. Mine is missing Dr Haushka, coconut scrub and another face cream!! I definitely don’t want the bag without those items, could I still return it?

  17. I got to my store in Eugene, OR around 11:30am and they were sold out! I’m so bummed. I had to be to work at 7am when Whole Foods opens, and then I begged my coworker to switch lunch times with me. I never have luck with these limited edition things because of my stupid work schedules…I should just stop trying.

In the bright side, I saved $20? Lol.

  18. Anyone in the STL area, Town & Country WF still has 4 black bags and 5 blue ones! There is a employee guarding them to make sure you only get one of each. (I heard her tell someone after I got mine) lol I only grabbed the blue! The bag is pretty good size.

  19. I got the blue bag…very nice skin care. Definitely feel like it’s worth more than $20. Excited to try these products with my Clarisonic. The black bag is more make up. The blue bag is more skin care.

  20. WF at Legacy Place (MA) had about 14 black bags (24 hour beauty) at 1pm. The display also only showed the black bag. I didn’t ask about the blue bag since I wanted the black. No Amazon Prime discount. And the cashier had no idea what the bag was which means I probably could have bought more than one. 😊 I exercised a little self control!!

  21. I prefer the bag style this year versus last year’s. They are much roomier!

    • AGREE 100% Frances! And part of the proceeds go to Africa for helping women which is a win-win!

      • Lynn – That makes me appreciate the bag(s) even more! I also like that because each bag is hand printed, no two will be exactly alike in their pattern.

  22. Got to the Ink Block Boston WF at 12:30pm thinking there would be none left but there a WHOLE SHELF full, so was able to get both bags. 😂 or 😆 since it probably didn’t need both. The associate I asked was surprised there were still so many left.

    • You are really lucky then, I been to the one in Los altos before they opened the store, once they open, there is already a queue, and there are also many emplyees buying the bag, the bag should be gone within 10 minutes. I am lucky because I am early, but otherwise nothing left. Your store must have regulation to give the customer the priority to buy.

  23. WF at Bridgeport in Tualatin: I was there just as they opened and was able to get one of each. There was a line a people waiting to get in and they all beelined for the bags. I browsed around WF about 30 mins and by the time I checked out, there were only a few bags remaining. The actual bags aren’t quite the same quality as previous years, but they are spacious.

    • Yes, I did not like the bags itself at all. They look and feel flimsy and cheap. I love 2017 bag, and 2018 bag I use all the time.

  24. Still in stock @ the Seattle Westlake and Roosevelt locations as of 9:15 AM; the Interbay store is sold out.

  25. I got to my WF at 7:20am, the guy was handing out the bags from boxes. One box already was gone. I got two bags and I scanned my amazon prime at check out and both boxes came out $33 including taxes.

    • I scanned my app, too and didn’t get another discount. How weird.

    • Oh I didnt know you could do that. Too bad I paid $20 each plus tax. But it’s worth it. Was late to work for 15 minutes 🙂

      • I think the primer doesn’t account to that, that girl was just lucky!

    • I scanned my app also and didn’t receive a Prime discount…

    • Thanks for posting this. My blue bag is missing the Trilogy cream. 🙁

      • My black bag is missing the Weleda cream! Of course it’s the $18 item that’s missing . . . : (

      • Mine is missing three items including cleanser.

      • My bag was missing all of the masks. I went back today, and there were lots of bags still, so it was an easy exchange. I was surprised, this same store sold out within an hour last year.

      • Mine was missing the Trilogy cream too 🙁

    • Thanks for taking the time to post this! 🙂

    • Thanks for posting .
My blue bag is missing the Yes to Tomatoes Detoxifying Charcoal Paper Mask

    • Thanks for posting this! I totally forgot there were two bag options. The WF I went to at lunch time didn’t even have the bags out on display yet, but I saw them in some boxes and snagged one. Luckily I got the blue one, which has more samples I’m interested in 🙂

  27. I went to two stores. I arrived at the first one at 7:09 and didn’t see any. I thought that they had run out so I asked a store employee. It turns out that they were in a storage area that only employees could access. They didn’t seem to know about the two bags being different until I brought it up and even then I could only get one bag. I guess that they were rationing them or preventing people from buying 10 at a time or creating their ‘own’ bags like some did last year. The next store had them out for you to take so I checked and some bags seemed to be missing some items. I recommend asking if you don’t see the bags (ask for the particular one that you want) and double checking the contents (there is a little information booklet included in the bag) Good luck to everyone who wants a bag!

    • Definitely check your bags since anyone could open then re-zip to close. When I went last night to the Elmhurst IL store, they had both available but you could see some had been unzipped and rummaged in.

  28. I just left WF in Vienna at 10:30. No blue bags on shelves, 3 black ones left. They went and checked out back, and came up with three blue bags. Got one of each. You’d better hurry if you want one. I don’t know if they have any more in the back.

  29. I was able to get one of each bag as well. The store associate said they were going fast. I was a bit disappointed that the contents had some overlap, but I gave my daughter the dupes and the blue bag. I also agree that last year’s bag was better.

  30. After striking out last year around noon, I was able to get one of each today at 8:00 in Fairfax, VA. They were going fast, though!

I’d love to see a value breakdown. I was only going to get the black one initially, but the blue one was hard to resist with the full-size Dr. Hauschka.

    • Both have a full size Dr. Haushka cleanser.

      • Nope, not true.

      • That’s what I got. Lucky, I guess.

  31. I got one of each. I love the size of the bag! (Great for travel). They were enforcing the “only one of each style” when I was there – one woman was trying to buy six!

    • Hi, did you have some of the same products in both bags?

  32. The closest Whole Foods is about an hour from my house and I got here an hour early.. it’s about ten till (opening) and there is now a line outside. The joys of living in So Cal…

  33. At first I put both in my cart, and then I remembered that I never even finished using (or even trying) the products in last year’s beauty bag! Not to mention all my other samples from Play, Birchbox etc. So I got only the blue one and put the black one back.

Marie Kondo would be proud! (Sort of.) 🙂

  34. I was there at 8am with no line and the policy was you were able to buy one of each but not two of the same. I liked how it was displayed in a Lucite box so you were able to see what was in both bags. I chose the Sunday Self Care bag. I like that the bag is big and it’s handmade in Africa and the proceeds go to a good cause.
Look forward to these every year! 🙂

  35. My Whole Foods opened at 8 and I was able to walk right in an get a bag with no line. They only allowed one bag per customer though, not one of each style. I went with the blue bag, which had a nice selection of items and I love the bag color. The black one had a lot of overlapping items, but would have loved to buy one of each.

    • Same with my store – only one of either bag, but not one of each. I got the blue one. 😊

  36. Got one of each and itemized the contents for my daughter, which I am happy to copy here (below). Was not allowed to get a pair for her, but it’s a good thing because I will give her all the dupes – there is some overlap – and some other things and one of the bags. The bags themselves are very nice!

5 sheet masks, all different – I can itemize for you if you want
Alaffia Coconut Reishi Shampo with Henna for hydrated, strong hair – 2 oz (I would say travel size, but bigger than a sample)
Dr. Hauschka Cleansing Cream full size
Acure Brightening Facial Scrub – 1 oz
Acure Seriously Soothing Blue Tansy Night Oil (sample size)
Weleda Sensitive Care Facial Cream (almond oil rich cream) – 1 oz
Burt’s Bees facial cleansing towelettes, sensitive skin – pck of 10
Evanhealy Whipped Shea Butter for Lips with Raspberry Seed – full size (this is a stick, like a big chapstick)
Derma-E Vitamin C Concentrated Serum (sample size – 1/4 oz)
Trilogy Ultra Hydrating Face Cream – (sample size, .67 oz)

3 sheet masks – only one is the same as above
Burt’s Bees towelettes same as above
      Acure scrub same as above
Weleda face cream same as above
2chic repairing hot oil hair treatment
Burt’s Bees liquid lipstick, “total taupe” – looks like a light rose – full size
cocokind “golden elixir” oil moisturizer for face, body, hair – sample size – I just dropped and broke mine (glass container)
      Mineral Fusion jet black mascara
alba lip balm with spf 25 (size of a chapstick)
evenhealy shea butter for lips same as above
Andalou CannaCell Happy Day Cream “hemp stem cells” (sample size)
Thayers Facial Toner with Witch Hazel, 3 oz bottle (travel size but bigger than a sample)

      • Thank you so much Amy for itemizing. I was debating if i’s worth to drive there and your list helped me decide.

      • Thanks for this!

      • Thank you!

      • Thank you!
        It’s very detailed!

    • Just itemized and posted but it’s not showing up – maybe was too long?

  37. Walked into Whole Foods at 8.30am and was able to get one of each color. the 25% amazon discount doesn’t apply towards the beauty bag but for only $20 each..they are worth it! 🙂

  38. I was able to get both bags. They are very similar. Both have Evanhealy shea butter for lips, Weleda almond facial cream, Acure rejuvenating under eye masks, Burts Bees facial cleansing towelettes, Acure brightening scrub.

24- hour beauty has Cocokind golden elixir, Alba Botanica lip care spf 25, Giovanni repairing blackberry and coconut oil hot oil hair treatment, Yes to Coconut paper mask, Whole Foods avocado mask, Thayers cucumber witch hazel, Andalou naturals happy day cream, Mineral Fusion volumizing mascara and Burts Bees tidal taupe liquid lipstick.

Self care Sunday has Pacifica stress rehab coconut & caffeine face mask, Trilogy ultra hydrating face cream, Yes to tomatoes charcoal paper mask, Alaffia coconut shampoo, Whole Foods nourishing royal jelly mask, Acure blue tansy oil, Alba Botanica pore-fecting papaya mask, Derma E vitamin C serum and Dr. Hauschka cleansing cream.

Most sizes are sample sizes however, a few are full size. I am not as impressed as last year.

  39. Walked into Whole Foods at 7am and was able to get one of each bag!

    • What is the difference between the bag contents?

  40. Very excited to get both…I don’t need both…tomorrow!

  41. Wont they will be like 25%off, because whole foods has beauty sale, that started today?

    • No these aren’t discounted. And I always scan my amazon/WF code- nothing. They have not been discounted in the 4 years i have been buying them anyways.

    • 25% excludes the beauty bags.

    • No, they are not discounted with sale or Prime. $20 each plus tax.

  42. bummer we don’t have the forums anymore – I won’t be able to do my annual giveaway of a Whole Foods bag. : (. Miss the forums.

    • Oh, sjiski, that is so sad. I used to love to see the excitement when you did the giveaway on the Forums

  43. For those that are interested in getting the free bags at the select Whole Foods that are offering them in exchange for an empty/old beauty product on the 30th, it might be best to call them to see when they’ll start handing out the free bags. I read that they’ll be handing them out from 8am to 9am, but I believe Whole Foods typically opens at 7am. I just thought I’d mention it so that people don’t arrive at the store a full hour early…. or maybe people do want to arrive a full hour early 😉

    • Someone in the beauty section of my local WH said they’d be handing them out when they opened, 7am! Not sure I’ll do that…will MSA be reviewing?

  44. Liz, do you know what items come in which bag? I was wondering if the store allows me to only get 1 or 1 of each…

    • It sounds like Whole Foods is only going to let people choose one bag since their ads for it say that customers get to choose one of two bags. However, it wouldn’t hurt to see if you can get both bags once you’re in the store!

    • On the Whole Foods fb page, they said you can get one of each!

      • Woo-hoo! Thanks for sharing!

    • Luna and MzBev, thank you for the info! Hope they still have some left when I go!

      • Just to add on to MzBev’s comment, I did a search, and I saw where Whole Foods said, “one bag per style for customers in all US locations”. Yay! Now I only need to make one trip 🙂

      • Luna, thank you so much. I was able to get both bags on Friday! I am product overload and didn’t need, but I am always sucker for this bag. How do you manage your stash? I try to move the products as fast as possible, but I only have one face, lol.

    • One of each. I tried to list the contents above but it’s not showing up, maybe was too long a post…

      • Send it to Liz! I decided not to stop this morning, since I rather see what’s included first. I keep checking MSA for the info!

  45. Bums me out. Over 2.5hr drive to my nearest Whole Foods store. 😭

    • I don’t have one nearby either so I can never get these. We have a WF 360 but they don’t get these in… bummer

  46. Oh, Liz, thank you so much!!

  47. Thanks, Liz.
