January 2019 Marvel Gear + Goods ‘Headquarters’ Review
This month is all about good related to the team’s headquarters, or your own!
It arrives with an information card that details the items in your box. It doubles nicely as frameable art, too.
Falcon FWOOSH Pin
Ths Falcon pin is large and has some really beautiful bold colors. I like the nod to the unique words the comic books use for sounds that are often specific to the characters themselves. It comes with two backing because it is pretty huge!
S.H.I.E.L.D. Academy T-shirt
My father-in-law is a huge Marvel fan and he is going to love this super soft blue tee! It has a big S.H.I.E.L.D emblem on the front and on the sleeve, and lets everyone know you have been recruited to join our heroes!
S.H.I.E.L.D. Heroes Bookend
I like the silhouette vibes of this bookend and that the designers included a few indicating details to let you know what shape belongs to who. It is a very stylish way to display your favorite comics and books on a shelf. Made out of black coated metal, this is one of those pieces that can work well in any decor.
S.H.I.E.L.D. Lapel Pin
This is one serious pin! It comes in a sleek black box and feels heavy and high quality. Its minimal design would make it easily wearable day to day, even with a suit!
S.H.I.E.L.D. Heroes Art Print
This sub always sends along a beautiful art print, and this month we received a beautiful piece by Alejandro Garza, featuring a group of our favorite heroes ready for battle. The bright colors and cosmic background are really stunning.
What agent doesn’t need a pair of sleek black shades for those times he or she needs to be incognito? Stay out of sight and out of the sun in these sleek black plastic-rimmed sunglasses, with a subtle S.H.I.E.L.D. logo.
Verdict: This Marvel Gear + Goods box was really fun! I loved the incredibly unique bookend. I can’t say you see those in subs very often! I think the blue shirt is also really well done, and can’t wait to gift it to my FIL. We received two very different pins this month, one more colorful and fun and the other classic enough to wear to work. The art print was gorgeous and the sunglasses are a really fun way to wear your fandom each day.
To Wrap Up:
Value Breakdown: This box costs $41.99 after shipping, so each of the 6 items has an average cost of $7.00
