Cat Lady Box March 2019 “March Meowness” Review

Cat Lady Box is always full of fun, cat-themed lifestyle items. Let’s see what was in store for March:

I love how the information cards have custom artwork every month. And the back has more information about the items in the box.

I have about five cans of cat food open at any given time (not even all of my cats eat wet food, but Mr. Kitty gets two kinds, and Monkey gets some extra at noon, etc.). So I can always use more of these. As you can see, they will work for a variety of can sizes including the small Fancy Feast cans.

Cat Lady Box Review March 2019 - Cat Sequin Keychain Top

Cat Sequin Keychain – Listed Value $8.99

I have a lot of keychains already so I decided to use this as a purse charm. I have a hot pink fake leather purse and this looks very nice (to me, anyway) next to it. This has a bit of stuffing inside and the sequins seem to be attached securely.

Kitten Shoulder Tote – Listed Value $34.99

At first, I was like, “what does this have to do with cats?” but look at the front pocket. Anyway, I’ve received several purses from Cat Lady Box but this one is the closest to a size that’s useful on a day-to-day basis for me (I tend to have about 4 pounds of lipstick, an umbrella, and a bunch of other junk in mine). Next time I feel the need to change things up, this will be the purse I use. It does not have a chemical smell, FYI, or at least mine didn’t.

Cat Lady Box Review March 2019 - Dandy Dandelion Catnip Toy Top

Dandy Dandelion Catnip Toy – Listed Value $5.99

This is the first of two cat toys this month. It is on the larger side because of the length, although it’s not exactly a kicker-style toy. Angus liked the stem end and some of the other cats preferred the flower part, so I guess there’s something for everyone.

Catnip Ladybug – Listed Value $4.99

This is a smaller, felt-textured toy. Some of my cats liked the antennae, but it’s also good for tossing around because of the size. I appreciate that the two toys had different textures this month, as texture is something that interests some of my older cats.

Gratuitous cat photos:

Angus didn’t want me to get close. I think he thought I was chasing him with pills (that’s a nightly thing now).

Cat Lady Box Review March 2019 - Madison Front

There was no food involved so I don’t know why Madison’s tongue was out.

Cat Lady Box Review March 2019 - Monkey Front

Monkey liked the antennae here.

Cat Lady Box Review March 2019 - Sneaky Front

Sneaky likes to bite silicone. She actually ran off with and destroyed a different silicone can lid once, so we have to keep them up high and away from her now.

Cat Lady Box Review March 2019 - Sparkles Front

Poor guy. I think he thought it was food time. (He sleeps about 99% of the day. I wake him up every now and then to eat and to make sure he uses the litterbox.)

Verdict: I calculated a value of $58.95 for the March 2019 (Crazy) Cat Lady Box. That is not the highest value ever for this box, but I feel it is appropriate for the items received. I liked the mix of fun and practical (i.e., lids) items and the more subtle nature of the cat on the purse (not that I’m opposed to wearing more obvious cat-themed accessories, but a little variety is good).

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Officially your subscription would start with April’s box, but way back when I signed up, I was contacted to say there were a few of the current month’s box left over and asked if I’d like one of those. So it may be worth inquiring.

LIMITED TIME DEAL: Use coupon code LOVEKITTIES to save 20% off your first Crazy Cat Lady box!

Value Breakdown: At a price of $39.99 for this box, you are paying approximately the following per item:

  • Lids $2.71
  • Keychain $6.10
  • Purse $23.74
  • Dandelion toy $4.06
  • Ladybug toy $3.39

  1. The white one with black spots look just like my brother’s cat (unfortunately he had to put her down last year she was 21!)

  2. Just came to say I love your cats, especially the little old man at the end! <3

    • Would you believe he is only 1-2 years older than Monkey (fuzzy tan and white) and 3 years older than Madison (black cat)? They have an OLD MEN’S CLUB that meets on the bed on cold afternoons when the heat is on (there is a vent directly above the bed).

  3. I love the sequin keychain. The kitty pocket on the bag is a little too subtle, but I get it once you pointed it out.
The last pic is like “you woke me up for the gratuitous toy picture and you’re not going to even feed me?”

    • He would probably refuse whatever food I tried to give to him. He’s just getting over a bout of pancreatitis.

  4. Do you happen to know the brand of the tote bag? It’s super cute!

    • There’s no brand. It’s exclusive to Cat Lady Box. If you wait a few days (weeks?) you may be able to find it on their website in the “shop past boxes” section.

    • I totally hate mine. The plastic is so stiff and it’s a weird shape.

      • My tote definitely has a strong chemical smell. I’ve left it out for almost a week now and it still hasn’t improved. I like the color and design, but the size is completely awkward for me. It’s WAY too big (IMO) to carry around as a regular purse, but yet it’s not over sized enough to use for things like traveling or a school bag. I’ve been disappointed in the last two boxes. I really hope the next one is better. I get so excited waiting for my box to come each month, so I don’t want to cancel, but I also can’t justify spending $35 when I only like one or two small/cheap items in the box.

        • I totally agree about the size thing!

        • I guess we just have different perspectives. The shape is a little unusual but I always carry a huge purse so the size on it is fine for me. And mine really didn’t smell.
