Yogi Surprise Jewelry  February 2018 Anahata Review

Yogi Surprise Jewelry February 2019 - Info Card Top

Here is the info sheet for this month’s box. This month’s theme is “Anahata,” which is your heart chakra.

Yogi Surprise Jewelry February 2019 - Rose Quartz Lotus Mala Top

Rose Quartz Mala with Lotus Bead

A mala is a strand of 108 beads plus a “guru” bead designed to help you with meditation or prayer. From my research, in Hinduism the number 1 stands for God, the universe, or your highest truth (whatever you believe!), the number 0 stands for emptiness and humility in the spiritual practice, and the number 8 stands for infinity and timelessness, which is why the malas are strung with 108 beads.

In the past, the Mala's I have received from Yogi Surprise has been a mix of different stones, so it was exciting to get this all rose-quartz version. Rose quartz opens up your heart chakra to help you with unconditional love for yourself and restoring trust. I think this is a truly lovely stone to feature for the month of February, and I love the pops of gold that appear throughout the strand along with the lotus bead.

Yogi Surprise Jewelry February 2019 - Rose Quartz Crystal Point Pendant Box Top Yogi Surprise Jewelry February 2019 - Rose Quartz Crystal Point Pendant Front

Rose Quartz Crystal Point Pendant, 18“

This necklace is stunning! It features a rose quartz crystal point pendant on an 18-inch gold chain (though I wish I knew if this was real gold, gold plated, or a different type of metal). As much as I love this necklace, as soon as I saw it I knew I needed to give it to one of my best friends. I gave her a rose quartz gold Kendra Scott bracelet for Christmas, and this was the perfect match to it. I have already seen her wearing this necklace multiple times, and to be honest she rocks it better than I ever could.

Here I am wearing both necklaces. The mala worn as a bracelet hits close to my belly button, so I may try double wrapping it as a bracelet!

Yogi Surprise Jewelry February 2019 - Good Day Chocolate Turmeric Front Yogi Surprise Jewelry February 2019 - Good Day Chocolate Turmeric Open Top

Good Day Chocolate Turmeric Supplement – Buy a pack of 6 boxes for $17.99

These are made with dark chocolate and turmeric, and honestly, they taste just like a really big M&M! I didn't realize until typing this review, but a "serving" is actually four pieces of candy (there are 8 in this box) to get the maximum turmeric benefits. Turmeric is a homeopathic alternative to help with relieving joint pain and soothing tired muscles. I'm going to save the rest of these as an after-exercise treat that will potentially help with my recovery, too.

Yogi Surprise Jewelry February 2019 - Equal Exchange Organic Dark Chocolate Minis Top

Equal Exchange Organic Dark Chocolate Minis, 2 minis – Buy a box of 150 minis for $32

This chocolate minis are made with organic and fair trade ingredients! The chocolate sourced from co-ops in the Dominican Republic and Peru, the Vanilla is from a co-op in Madagascar, and the sugar is from a co-op in Paraguay! Plus, these little bites are tasty, too.

The Verdict: I think Yogi Surprise hit the nail on the head with the February theme - love and chocolate! I think rose quartz is a beautiful stone so I was happy to see it so prominently featured this month, and the chocolate was delicious. Yogi Surprise listed the total value of the box as $63. I am not a beading expert, so I cannot attest to the quality, authenticity, or value of the beads included. What I can say is that the pieces felt like they were of good quality (the Mala especially had a solid weight to it), and for the $24.95 I am happy with what I received – especially considering all jewelry is handcrafted with fair trade materials.

I am a staunch believer that pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza and when I’m not working as a family law attorney I enjoy hiking the Louisiana trails (alligator sightings are a favorite!) or relaxing with Duchess, my cat. I’m a sucker for anything labeled a mystery box and I’ve never met a bath bomb I didn’t like.

I like this box a lot too. When I first saw the reveal of the point pendant, I did not have high expectations for this month’s box. I’m probably older than most subscribers, and point pendants were very popular in the 1990s so although they’re still around, I wasn’t too thrilled — especially after getting a set of point pendants a few months back. But the rose quartz lotus Mala is definitely stunning. In my humble opinion, the beads are high quality and just lovely. The point pendant necklace probably replaces the matching bracelet we usually receive. It’s an inexpensive necklace but is a charming addition to one’s fashion jewelry collection if you don’t have one. Loved trying the chocolate treats! The goodies that accompany this box — whether teas or chocolate delights — are always so unique and delicious.

I loved this month. Had been getting tired of the tassles we were getting month after month. Good stuff.

Is there one for next month yet?

I just looked and the spoiler for Febuary was on January 22cd so my guess would be March spoiler would be around the same time of the month.

I love this box! I receive high quality jewelry and new malas to use. I like how they throw in treats too, except I do not eat chocolate, but my mother in law loves getting them from me!
