Peaches and Petals January 2019 Box Review

No card this month ya’ll! Let’s dig in.

Peaches and Petals January 2019 spatula Peaches and Petals January 2019 spatula back Peaches and Petals January 2019 spaltula detai

Smores Spatula

I can never have enough silicone spatulas in my kitchen, though I wish this one was plainer. I can’t figure out when you would ever use a spatula in s’more making! In my experience decals on these sorts of things usually wear off anyways with usage and I like its blue color.

Alaska Knits Merino Blend Crew Socks

I never say no to socks in a box, especially a wool blend pair. I like these very much because they are both lightweight and warm. The berry color goes well with my wardrobe and I am happy to add more boot socks to my winter warmth rotation.

16 oz Sassy Saying Mug – Retail Value $11.99

I feel like my mom would adore this mug and find it humorous and folksy. She pretty much collects items with cute Southern sayings so I could totally see this in her kitchen. I like that it is a larger mug, meaning EXTRA COFFEE!

I Can’t Adult Today Canvas Print

This might be a little youthful for me and would likely be better suited to a dorm than my home. The canvas itself was larger than I would have expected and pretty sturdy in terms of construction. I can appreciate the minimal typography with the pop of metallic gold.

Find Your Happy Book – Retail Value $14.28

This book is filled with inspirational quotes and pretty pictures. t would make a cute gift for someone in your life who needs a little encouragement or likes coffee table books with bright and cheerful imagery.

Verdict: Peaches and Petals can literally be the most random box I get each month, and this is a pretty good example. I couldn’t figure out any sort of theme, but if I had to guess it would be “dorm room” or “first apartment”. The items they sent certainly do have varying levels of usefulness, and for certain people, they might be total wins! For me, this box is always a total mystery and I often end up giving many pieces away as gifts rather than keeping them. I really did like the socks this month and the spatula is very useful to me, though not at all my style. My mom will love the mug. The book and canvas print will end up being gifts.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

  1. well, apparently there is no sense in me posting on here anymore since apparently virtually *all* of my comments get deleted. I used to really love MSA.

  2. I see a $5.00 value here. Wow, sooo cheap, so random. You could not convince me of a value of more than $1 per item. Subbers run!

  3. I continue to be embarrassed for the reviewer of this dollar store junk box. 🙄

    • What’s it to you? I’m embarrassed for you for being such a negative person and putting it out all over the internet. And, umm, yeah, the items are worth more than a dollar unless you find them at a second hand store. I have Alaska Knit brand socks – they aren’t the cheapest. The book is large and very nice. The last thing I need is another mug, but that doesn’t mean that they don’t sell for more than a dollar. The only item you could get for a dollar would be the spatula.

  4. My mug had a different saying. Much more appropriate for me. I haven’t gotten. This box in almost a year ininteally missed it. I think the theme could have been cheer up and keep cozy in the winter? That’s how I saw it. Put on a pair of warm socks after making amsnack and amcup of warm tea, sit back and get inspired reading quotes on a day you don’t have to adult on.

  5. Well, I haven’t received my P & P box yet this month but seeing what they are sending out makes me wish I’d cancelled sooner. So, this is the clincher for me, cancelling this subscription box as being just a waste of money and all but the socks will end up in the gift closet.

  6. Love the quote on the mug! I’m feeling like that around my dh very often these days lol.

Cute box of random novelty nothingness aka giftables.

  7. I got two books and two prints in my box. Did anybody else get double products in theirs?

  8. I was so disappointed in this box, I cancelled. It was the first box I had ordered in almost a year. The only salvageable item was the socks and i gave those away. The rest went into the “circular” file.I

    • What a waste. You could swap them, gift them, or donate them.

  9. If anyone is getting this box and doesn’t want the print, I would swap for it.

    • I can give you mine. I got two in my box.

  10. When I heard that Peaches and Petals had improved their box, i resubscribed after an almost 1 yr absence. This box contained items so cheap or so useless, i cancelled. I was really bummed out by this box and I don’t want to waste my money on another one/
