Naturisimo Detox Discovery Box Review
This box didn’t come with an info sheet, but it did have this insert.
Odacite Black Mint Cleanser, 1 oz – Estimated Value $11.54 (buy the full-size version for $39)
I have to be careful about peppermint in skincare because if it is paired with the wrong ingredients (primarily exfoliating ones) I can be left with sensitive skin. Luckily, I had absolutely no issues with sensitivity, and I love the freshness that the mint brings to this charcoal face wash. The consistency is thin and a bit watery, and it spreads across my face with ease. It is a gentle cleanser that leaves my face (and my nose!) happy.
Evolve Daily Defense Moisture Mist, 1 oz – Retail Value $13.09 (£10.00)
This facial mist is made with rose water and prickly pear extract, as well as moringa seed extract. The combination is a hydrating mist that can help protect against environmental stressors like pollution, and it also calms and soothes the skin. I found the mist to be most effective when held about 10 inches from my face, and it was a soothing and hydrating pick me up.
Kiki Health Pure Marine Collagen Powder, 20 grams – Retail Value $9.16 (£7.00)
Collagen powder is a pretty popular protein supplement at the moment, and this version is made from sustainably sourced wild fish. My biggest complaint with this product is that neither the bottle nor the website description tells you the amount of protein you get per serving. I found a description that says 100 grams of this powder has “>90g” protein, but a serving is about a teaspoon and this entire bottle is only 20 grams.
Meow Meow Tweet Baking Soda Free Deodorant in Grapefruit, 1.8 oz – Retail Value $14
This is an aluminum-free deodorant that is also baking soda-free, and it uses essential oils like sweet orange, grapefruit, and lemon to help you smell fresh. I am firmly in the antiperspirant gang, but I did think the citrusy smell was pleasant.
Briogeo Scalp Revival Charcoal Tea Tree Scalp Treatment, 0.27 oz – Estimated Value $8.64 (buy the full-size version for $32)
I have tried this before and I really like it! It is a blend of peppermint, tea tree, and charcoal that soothes itchy, dry scalps, helps remove buildup, and generally just improve the condition of your scalp. This is a leave-in treatment you apply to damp hair, and my preferred way of using is by adding a few drops along my scalp, combing through my hair, and then throwing it in pigtail braids and going to sleep. I wouldn’t call my scalp severely dry, but this definitely improves the occasional itch I get from dryness.
Aromatherapy Associates Revive Morning Bath & Shower Oil, 9 ml – Retail Value $14.40 (£11.00)
It is probably a good thing I didn’t discover the magic that is Aromatherapy Associates sooner because they would have taken all of my money. This bath and shower oil smells incredible thanks to a blend of grapefruit, rosemary, and juniper, and it really is a refreshing blend. A little bit of this can be added to your bath water for deliciously scented moisture, but my favorite way to use this has been as a shower oil (I really do have enough bath oils). To use, I massage a capful into my torso and then breathe deeply. Then I step into my shower and let the hot water and steam do some magic! Once the scent blooms the grapefruit is very present, and it almost reminds me of a glass of fresh squeezed orange juice. The instructions say to use two capfuls but I have been having success with just one, which allows me to stretch this tiny bottle into 5 or 6 delightful showers.
Green People Fruit Scrub Exfoliator, 1 oz – Estimated Value $16.25 (buy the full-size version for $26)
This is a gentle exfoliating scrub made with fine particles of bamboo and bentonite clay, and it has a light citrusy scent thanks to the orange flower water. This wasn’t too harsh of a physical exfoliant, and this was a good follow up after the Odacite cleanser.
Fushi Organic Jojoba Oil, 0.33 oz – Estimated Value $2.30 (buy the full-size version for $23.56/£18.00)
This little vial is 100% cold-pressed jojoba oil, and I love the hydration this oil provides. My favorite way to use it is on the ends of my hair to help lock in moisture to my curls, and this does the job perfectly.
Bellapierre Holographic Lip Gloss in Neptune, Full-Size! Retail Value $14.80 (€13,00) (linked to a Dutch site because that is the only place I could find it)
Ooof, this is the one complete miss in the box. This full-sized holographic lip gloss is VERY holographic, and I honestly cannot imagine a time or place to wear this other than a Mardi Gras parade.
Swatched it doesn’t look too bad.
But once on, I felt a bit like a clown. It was a comfortable lip gloss, though!
Madara Smart Anti-Pollution Charcoal & Mud Repair Mask, 0.4 oz- Estimated Value $5.67 (buy the 2.02 oz version for $28.62)
This charcoal and mud mask is one of the best mud masks I have tried- it doesn’t dry my skin out, it fights environmental stressors, and it helped to calm down some acne that was partying on my chin. This gives your skin a boost of vitamin A, vitamin b3, and 17 amino acids that will in theory also help fight the signs of aging. Those are some big claims for this little mask, but I am very happy with how it performed.
Pukka Detox and Cleanse Teas, 2 sachets – Estimated Value $0.39 (buy a box of 20 sachets for $3.91 (£2.99))
I am always down to try new teas, and these two were really tasty! Cleanse is a blend of nettle, fennel, peppermint, aloe vera, and dandelion root, and while those flavors sound like they could be aggressive it was incredibly well-balanced for a mild cup of tea. Detox is a blend of anise, fennel, cardamom, and licorice root, and the sweetness from the fennel played really nicely with the licorice root. If I could find these teas readily available state-side, I would pick up more.
Lov Organic Lovely Morning Tea, 1 sachet – Buy a 3.5 oz loose-leaf tin for $21.80
This was a refreshing cup of tea made with maté, guarana, green tea, grapefruit, lemon, and orange. I really pick up on the lemon in the aroma of the tea, but the drink itself tastes like a soothing green tea that can energize and refresh.
The Verdict: This was my first experience with Naturisimo, and I absolutely loved it! I discovered some really neat products from luxe brands like Aromatherapy Associates and Odacite, and I got to try some tasty teas! I thought this kit had a great value, too, with the total for everything except the teas adding up to $110.24. That just about meets the promised value of £85, too.
This box cost $39.20 after conversion, and I think it was definitely worth the price. I also thought the free international shipping was fast, too – it got here in about a week.
To Wrap Up:
Can you get this box if you sign up today? Unfortunately, this box is sold out.
Value Breakdown: This box cost $39.20 with free international shipping, which means you’re paying about $3.56 per item (counting all three tea bags as one item).
