Meowbox February 2019 "Furst Date" Review

Meowbox has a lot of exclusive toys that are usually pretty popular with my cats. From my perspective, it’s nice to see some things that don’t turn up in other cat subscription boxes:

Meowbox February 2019 - Booklet Front Meowbox February 2019 - Booklet Back Meowbox February 2019 - Ad Front Meowbox February 2019 - Back

The information card typically just gives a URL for finding out more information about the items in the box. The picture is adorable, as usual. This month had a Valentine’s Day theme but arrived after the holiday. There was also a coupon.

Meowbox February 2019 - Heart

Le Sharma Wool Heart – Retail Value $5

You’ll receive exclusive felted wool toys from Le Sharma every now and then in Meowbox. Angus loves them. They are small and durable and easy for him to bat around.

Meowbox February 2019 - Phone

Tindpurr Toy – Retail Value $6

I am not really up on online dating in the era of smartphones (I did meet my husband on OKCupid but it was more than a decade ago…). Anyway, I guess this is a Tinder parody. I like it because it features an orange cat (though I am partial to one-eyed orange cats, as you know). The kitties were mostly interested in the “cord” part of this toy although the phone part does have catnip.

Meowbox February 2019 - Pickup

Purrfect Pick Up Lines Two-Pack – Retail Value $5

These are small, lightweight catnip toys with cheesy pick-up lines that are easy to toss around. Madison mostly wanted to rub his face on them, which is fine by me.

Meowbox February 2019 - Treats

Catit Nibbly Treats in Chicken and Liver – Retail Value $3.99

These were new to me this month (I received a different flavor of them in another cat subscription box). Sneaky, Monkey, and Madison all liked them. They are crunchy treats and I am mostly using them for luring Sneaky into the bathroom for her asthma inhaler.

Meowbox February 2019 - Wand

Bouquet of Roses Wand – Retail Value $10

This wand actually has two roses hanging by two thin ribbons (you’ll get a better look in the cat pictures below). Sneaky and Angus both thought this was great. (Once again, don’t tell Sneaky she liked the same toy as Angus did.)

Angus only wants to play with wands on the stairs. Look at those claws!

He also loved the heart.

Meowbox February 2019 - Madison 1 Meowbox February 2019 - Madison 2 Meowbox February 2019 - Madison 3

Madison was in the mood to rub his face on things.

But he also liked the treats.

Monkey wasn’t in the mood for pictures, but I did get these two.

Sneaky with the wand.

Sneaky also liked the phone toy a lot.

And she lives for treats. (Look at those claws. Digging into my hand.)

Meowbox February 2019 - Sparkles 1

Here is my Valentine. He was a bit under the weather with pancreatitis when I took these pictures but he has been to the vet a couple of times since then and he is on the mend.

Verdict: I calculated a total value for the February Meowbox of $29.99. That’s quite a bit above the cost of the box and is a great value for a cat subscription box. I like that you get a lot of custom and exclusive toys, and I think they did a great job of sticking to a theme while providing a variety of different toy types. The treats were also a hit.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? It may be too late for the February box, so your subscription would likely start with March, but watch the Meowbox site as some of the individual items are on sale there.

Value Breakdown: At $22.95 for the subscription plus shipping, you are paying approximately the following per item:

  • Heart $3.83
  • Tindpurr toy $4.59
  • Pick-up lines toys $3.83
  • Treats $3.05
  • Wand $7.65

I too have a cat that holds my hand in place when getting treats, as if he fears I’m going to snatch them away at the last minute. Love that Sneaky girl.

My kitties loved that phone with the string this month. My kids thought it was hilarious too.
