Kinder Beauty Box Natural Beauty January 2019 Review
This folding info card from Kinder Beauty Box is one of the nicest I’ve seen in a subscription box.
January’s box is Kinder Beauty Box’s first launch!
The back of each product card also has information about Kinder Beauty Box’s social media and the charitable nature of this subscription box; a percentage of sales from each box sold is donated to the Los Angeles County Animal Care Foundation.
It includes so much information on every product sampled, including a listed value, so you know what each product is worth.
January’s box includes three winter-skin saving products as well as two makeup products.
Juara Rice Facial Cleanser, .85oz – Estimated Value $5.48 (Buy 4.5oz for $29)
I’ve sampled a few products from Juara, but this is easily my favorite. This cleanser has a soft, soapy smell with no added artificial fragrance, and it only lathers just a little bit. I used a dime size and distributed it around my face in a circular motion, and when I rinsed my face it felt so soft!! No tightness or irritations, so definitely a winner for me!
Honeybee Effortless Eyeliner in Belgian Chocolate – Retail Value $8.99
When I see eyeliners in a box, I tend to roll my eyes because nothing usually compares to my Urban Decay 24/7 liners, but this is a great runner up! The pencil is so soft and blendable, making it perfect for a smudged-out line. I love a liner that glides on so easily, and this one lasted all day with barely any smearing.
Inika Organic Loose Mineral Eye Shadow, Peach Fetish – Retail Value $22
I love when loose powder products have a sticker over the sifter, and I also love a soft shimmer shadow for “no make-up days.” This peach shimmer is high shine and has a depth that is so understated and pretty. This can be used wet or dry, and it is also safe for sensitive eyes.
Here is the Honeybee Eyeliner in Belgian Chocolate and Inika Eyeshadow in Peach Fetish swatched.
100% Pure Coffee Bean Caffeine Eye Cream, 1fl oz – Retail Value $26
Eye creams are great products to receive in a subscription, and this one is full sized! And you can clearly see in the photo above that the tube is full of product (not paying for any air in this one!). 100% Pure makes a nice thick eye cream that is perfect for night time application. I don’t think I’ve ever used a scented eye cream, but this product’s vanilla fragrance is subtle and lovely. When I woke up after using this, I thought my undereye looked nourished and adequately moisturized, although I didn’t notice any difference in color or puffiness (I don’t really feel I have too much discoloration or puffiness to begin with, thankfully!).
Andalou Naturals Tumeric + C Brighten Serum, Full Size! – Retail Value $24.95
This serum has a lotion-esque texture, which is perfect for my dry skin. It smells vaguely of bitter citrus (but in a pleasant way), and it made my skin feel very smooth just seconds after applying. I’ve used it twice so far, and I haven’t had any signs of irritation, and I think my skin really likes this formula! It does have a surprising brightening effect that I am hoping helps with some acne scarring. Fingers crossed!
Not all boxes will include this gift item, but if you subscribe using our MSA_KINDER coupon code, you will receive this free gift!
Pure Vegan B-12 Oral Spray – Retail Value $18.95, Listed Value $19.95
This item is the bonus product, thanks to the promotional code MSA_KINDER Kinder Beauty is offering first-time subscribers. I love receiving beauty supplements in boxes, and this is an excellent bonus to this box! It barely has any taste at all, and with just one spray, it delivers 8333% of methylcobalamin, the most absorbable form of B12. B12 is super important for hair, skin and nail health and growth as well as keeping nerve and blood cells healthy, and this bottle contains 175 servings!
Verdict: Kinder Beauty Box shocked me with their first box launch. I felt like this box was catered to my skin type, especially with what it has been going through recently (dryness, scarring, etc.). I found a new cleanser, brightening serum and eye cream that I am loving as well as a pretty shimmer shadow and a silky smooth eye pencil that also really impressed me – all of which are cruelty-free and vegan! Each item was a hit for me, and I can’t wait to see what new favorites February’s box brings.
Not including the bonus vitamin spray, this box has a value of $87.42, which I think is awesome for a $24 (+free shipping) box!
