Enchanted Crystal of the Month: Dragon's Tooth Amethyst

Enchanted Crystal February 2019 note from curator

First, you'll see a greeting from Adam of Enchanted Crystal. Adam and Galen have been seeking out new and exciting things for us at the world famous Tucson Gem Show. I can't wait to see what the next upcoming months hold!

Enchanted Crystal February 2019 info sheet

Our specimen this month is Dragon's Tooth Amethyst. Whaaaaaaat?!

Dragon Tooth Amethyst Pair

It was so nice to receive two of these! I had never heard of Dragon's Teeth before but you can see why these distinctive crystals were given that name. I learned from the info card that these were recently discovered in 2018 in Bahia, Brazil. Usually, when crystals form in clusters, they tend to stick together, but these beauties broke off in a unique way which gave them this distinctive shape. Each shard grew side by side together, but they never fully bonded. The lower stems of the crystals have unique shapes because each is actually an impression of the sister crystal that forms against it. Super cool! Add in the gorgeous and distinct amethyst purple color and this month I received a pair of crystals that are as beautiful as they are interesting.

Enchanted Crystal February 2019 bonus crystals

Enchanted Crystal always sends bonus crystals or minerals in a small bag as well.

Black Tourmaline

My collection of black tourmaline has really grown over the last year and I am always happy to add more and more since this stone is known for its protective properties. It also just looks so wonderfully dark and moody when compared to my other pieces.

Rough Amethyst

I love that we got even more amethyst this month! In contrast to our main specimen, these little chunks are delightfully raw. Some even still have dirt on them! I can imagine them being freshly pulled from the earth. I learned recently that amethyst is said to help with nightmares, which is really interesting to me. I don't frequently have bad dreams, but if you do, these little gems would be a great addition to your nightstand.

Enchanted Crystal February 2019 quartz

Madagascar Quartz

One can never have enough quartz! It magnifies the energy of other crystals and even if you think that is crazy talk you can still appreciate how pretty they look when sprinkled all over a house on tables and window sills, collecting sunlight.

Verdict: Enchanted Crystal is one sub that consistently makes me grin from ear to ear. In addition to the featured crystal each month, there is always a highly informative and educational card and an exciting bag of bonus pieces. I literally always learn something new from this box. If you love minerals and crystals, this one is a no brainer. Adam and his team really do such a great job of finding super unique pieces that are welcome additions to my growing collection each and every month.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

This’ll be short and sweet. I adore the dragon tooth amethyst. It’s unique, raw, rough with distinct beauty I adore it!

I live a few miles away from these folks and I get it the day after they mail! I took got the Dragon’s tooth but a single because mine is bigger. I love that if they see a quality/size difference that they make sure it is made right by giving more! That is so unique in a company. I freaked out upon opening though because OH MY GOODNESS the pure beauty! You can just picture you piece nestled in a cluster and being gently jiggled free, like a loose tooth. To hold it you do feel a connection with its journey and you can not help wondering if its neighbors are being held the same way. The little extra baggy of goodies was pure heaven for me too! I have been known to carry “pocket stones” as “bra stones” lol I find the skin to skin contact really increased the good juju. 😇 These little stones did not disappoint! I had an amazing day and didn’t carry the energy of others home with me. I am in LOVE with this box, the company and the folks behind it. Find them on Facebook to keep up with the happenings.

I love that you are as into this sub as I am! I truly look forward to it each month. I follow them on insta and they have such great personalities and passion for gems. Their little write-ups make everything they send even more fantastic. I am also so amused that someone else out there also carries bra crystals!
