BuffBoxx January 2019 Review
BuffBoxx does not include an itemized list of the content within the box, but they do sometimes include some bonus items. This month they sent out a promotional Buffboxx whistle, which I was actually pretty excited about.
Cellucor C4 Ultimate Pre-Workout - Retail Value $39.99
As soon as Ryan, my boyfriend, saw this product sitting in the box he said “Whoa! That is some serious stuff there.” Apparently, it is a product that he has used in the past when he was lifting on a regular basis; he said it is something that once you use it, you need to work it out. This stimulant pre-workout contains 300mg Caffeine + Rauwolfia and sounds a little too daunting for my aerobic workouts. Also, this brand makes products that are known for their “tingle” inducing side effects, which I am definitely not ready for!
Smartshake offers a simple 20oz cup with a strainer attached to the lid. This solid cup has measurements on the side and guarantees a leak-proof performance every time, making it perfect for someone on the go.
Alpha Amino Ultimate is a stimulant-free hydrating sports drink powder that includes potent ingredients to help you build muscle, recover, and increase strength. It includes BetaPower Betaine and coconut water powder to assist in hydration as well as 3 different types of amino acids to assure you have the tools to aid in strength and muscle building. The orange sherbet flavor was drinkable, and it seemed to dissolve into the water without too much effort. My workout was cut short due to bad weather, but while I was at the gym I felt energized and hydrated without any odd side effects.
Cellucor Powder Funnel - Retail Value $5
There have been too many occasions when I’ve spilled powder everywhere because I was trying to get it into a bottle with a small opening; those days are over thanks to this handy funnel!
C4 Ultimate on the Go is the perfect solution for when you need a surge of energy, but you’re running late. Grab one of these convenient cans and enjoy one of the three flavors Arctic Snow Cone, Tropical Blast or Sour Batch Bros. Buffboxx sent out Arctic Snow Cone, and although I haven’t had a chance to try it, I am not one to enjoy a soda or any type of carbonated energy drink. This product is supposed to do the same things for your workout as the C4 Ultimate in a can, and it has many positive reviews to back it up.
Goal Setting by Joe Boone - Retail Value $5.99
This book is a very short read; the pages aren’t even numbered. There are 5 chapters dedicated to helping you define a goal and manifest change in order to attain and retain your exercise goals.
Under Armour Locker 2.0 Shirt, Size Medium - Retail Value $25
There is something about a rich purple that really does it for me, so I am really feeling the Under Armour pick this month! This 100% polyester tee makes the perfect relaxed fit gym shirt. The back has a fun loop detail on the collar for easy locker hangups, and the fabric is, as always, so breathable and soft. A perfect fit for when you don’t want to wear anything too tight or revealing, although this shirt is quite sheer!
Verdict: For the last few months BuffBoxx has been dedicated to spotlighting one specific brand; they sample a few items they offer, plus a promotional Buffboxx item and as always, one Under Armour item. This month I wasn’t crazy about the brand they offered since I am not a dedicated lifter, but if you are swol’ and looking for some hard-hitting products, this month would have definitely been perfect for you! The retail value comes to $88.30, which is a pretty good value for a $49.99 (+ free shipping) box.
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, you will receive the February box. There is some customization with Buffboxx, so in a given month, someone else’s box contents might not match mine.
