Bonjour Jolie February 2019 “Love is in the Air” Review
The theme for Bonjour Jolie this month is “Love is in the Air” which is festive enough for February!
Let’s start with the goods. All of your menstrual products will come in a discreet bag that fits in with the theme and this month we have a nice rosy pink with metallic gold roses on it.
When you sign up, you can choose up to 20 different menstrual products in any combination of tampons, pads, and liners. They offer a great selection of items from brands like Always, Kotex, and OB. You can check their selection out before you commit though, in case you are someone who has a preferred brand.
Tampax Pearl Lites (10)- Buy 36 for $6.99
Always Radiant Liners (3) – Buy 96 for $6.99
Always Ultra Thin Extra Heavy Overnight (7) – Buy 24 for $5.49
You can change your selections at any time by editing your profile, but keep in mind there might be a delay if you need to switch up your needs each month. The ability to switch it up is what I really like about this box and the fact that you can try new things without committing to an entire box of products. This month I received 10 tampons, 3 liners, and 7 pads.
Simply Summer’s Eve Cleansing Cloths in Coconut Water (2) – Buy 2 packs of 14 for $10.44
Cleansing cloths like these seem to be in every box which is nice because I have a great little stash for when I might need them to freshen up.
Advil to Go Packs (2) – Buy 50 packets for $9.48
These little packets each have two pills, just enough to help with cramps or headaches while on the go.
Elmer’s Chocolate Heart, 2 oz – Listed Value $3 (currently unavailable)
This little heart-shaped box of chocolates fits perfectly with our love theme. This box contained five different chocolates which were pretty decent as little boxes of chocolates go. They aren’t the best I’ve ever had, but they are not the worst. My sister was excited when I told her they contained her favorite strawberry creme filled ones which I am more than happy to give to her since I am not a fan myself. I couldn’t locate these online so I had to go by the listed price, which I think is fair.
The Bomb Gals Love is Gold Bath Bomb – Listed Value $7.99
This bath bomb is so pretty with the berry pink covered in handpainted gold mica. I could not find this exact bath bomb on their site but I linked to a similar one with gold glitter. This will definitely make for a nice luxurious bath!
Steve Laurant Blush in Rose All Day – Retail Value $22
I love that they packaged this in its own little bag. The presentation with this box is always so nice! This Steve Laurant blush in Rose All Day is the perfect color for a Love-themed box.
The cute little compact it comes in gives it such an 80’s/90’s vibe with that tan color – probably because it reminds me of the old tan M&Ms, although this might be darker in color. Even though it’s small, it still has a little mirror and I think this nice rosy pink is a perfect color for the upcoming spring.
This cruelty-free formula is super soft and velvety, really buildable and has great pigment. I’m not so sure about the staying power, but I think that if you added a little makeup setting spray over top it would be okay!
Our edibles came all packaged together in a nice pink bag this month. Looks like lots of red and pink goodies!
Haribo Goldbears Valentine Packs – Buy 25 for $11.50
I love my Haribo Goldbears so I was glad to see these cute little Valentine packs in the box. Although I have to say, there are not many bears in each pack…at least not enough for me! Haha.
SweeTarts Hearts Valentine Packs – Listed Value $0.50, Buy a 4.5 oz bag for $6.65 (These are super limited since they are a Valentine’s Day edition!)
I haven’t had SweeTarts in forever so this was another fun and festive treat! I forgot how much I actually love these!
Muddy Buddies Cookies & Cream Valentine Pack – Listed Value $0.50, Buy a 10.5 oz bag for $8.95
I love Muddy Buddies and usually get the peanut butter and chocolate flavor, but this cookies & cream flavor did not disappoint! I’d happily eat these anytime. I couldn’t locate any more Valentine packs for sale, but I linked to a nice big bag that should be equally delicious.
Garden Veggie Chips Mini Hearts – Buy 12 packs for $16.95
I have had the regular chips from this brand before and they were good, but something about these crunchy little heart shapes actually tasted way better than the original. Plus they are so cute! My daughter and I quickly finished this entire bag together and it is considered a sensible snack so it was a nice balance to all of the sweets. These weren’t listed on the contents card, but I’m glad they were included in our box!
Pukka Assorted Organic Teas – Buy a box of 20 teabags for $3.87 (2.99 GBP)
I love that they send a few tea bags every month. It’s nice to be able to try different types and I think it’s fun to see how they find teas to fit with the theme. These beautiful pink and purple tea bags were a nice choice for this month. I decided to try the Love tea since that’s what this box is all about. It sounded like a nice mix of organic rose, chamomile, and lavender, but I failed to notice that it also had licorice root in it which I really, really dislike in my tea. Unfortunately, all three have licorice root so I won’t be trying the rest, but they were still a perfect choice for the theme, just not for me!
Verdict: This month’s Bonjour Jolie box was another great one thanks to the fun curation and attention to detail. It is so fun to see a box go all out on a theme and I definitely felt the love on this one. They covered all of the basics that you need at that time of the month and also included a few pampering extras with the bath bomb and the blush. This box costs $24.48 ($16.50 + $0.99 tax + $6.99 shipping) and I estimate the total value of the items we received to be about $42.29 which is a really rough estimate considering a lot of the items are no longer available since they were special Valentine editions. Either way, I definitely felt like the value was there in the items received and it doesn’t get any better than having your monthly products delivered to your door each month with some fun surprise extras!
