Witch Baby Soap Box Winter 2019 Review
Witch Baby is a soap company that has been providing luxurious, handmade bath products made from the finest witchy ingredients since 2013. In the last year or so they started offering a quarterly subscription box that offers seasonal subscription boxes that include exclusive, lunar-themed bath bombs, oils, crystals, enamel pins, soaps, and other products.
The folks at Witch Baby pride themselves on never using parabens, sulfates, phthalates, urea, or formaldehyde in any of their products. Everything they sell is vegan, cruelty-free, and nearly 100% of their packaging is biodegradable.
My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Witch Baby Box Winter 2019 Review
Witch Baby includes a pamphlet with info about each new moon and the zodiac sign they are in, the bath bombs that coordinate with them, and what each bath bomb symbolizes. I love this company’s thoughtful attention to detail and their themes in each of their products. This month’s zine and products’ theme is astrology/zodiac signs.
The first page gives info on the items included in this Winter 2018/2019 Spell Box. This quarter, they provided a special sampling of their Valentine’s Day collection with the Lucy Purr body scrub, Juno face soap, and the Venus Wine body butter. It is full of alluring, romantic, and unique fragrances only Witch Baby could conjure up! The second page touches on the Moon in Cancer on December 22nd and the coordinating bath bomb for said moon.
These two pages detail the Moon in Leo on January 21s and the Moon in Virgo on February 19th.
The following two pages have a Q & A with the Astro Queen, Annabel Gat, and information on the Kyanite crystal that was included in this season’s spell box!
Here we have different bath combos for each zodiac sign.
Here is a close up of those bath recipes. I am a Scorpio, but that Cancer bath sounds heavenly!
These pages include a Winter Witch List filled with activities to do during the winter and also a celestial forecast providing all the lunar phases and info from December through March.
Finally, we have a quote from Dane Rudhyar about the beauty of understanding astrology.
Lucy Purr Body Scrub 2oze (4oz Scrubs start at $8 on the site)
This scrub has sunflower seed and dragon fruit oils and powders in it, but the most prominent is the cherry powder scent! I am biased and love anything cherry, so I absolutely adore the fragrance of this scrub! The oils in this scrub moisten and exfoliate my skin leaving it amazingly smooth. It is absolutely luxurious and the gorgeous scent lingers for hours on your skin!
Venus Wine Body Butter
Venus Wine’s scent boasts of a lovely combination of raspberries, aged cabernet, with a hint of white chocolate. My friend, Joe, and I were trying it together and agreed it smells like Strawberry wafer cookies of our childhood that our grandmas perpetually had in stock. I usually look forward to the body oils the most from Witch Baby boxes, but I was eager to try this body butter. Not only is the fragrance to die for, but I felt as smooth as a baby’s behind after slathering myself from head to toe! I also love this 1oz jar because it is ideal for traveling or keeping in your purse on the go!
December Moon Bath Bomb— Estimated Value $5-$10? (Bath bombs range from $5-$10 on site)
This bath bomb has a herbaceous, soothing scent due to the combination of mint like hyssop and sage. The water became a bit frothy but was this sparkly blood red. In the center of the bath bomb was a gorgeous green goldstone. Per my research, Green Goldstone is considered to be a deflector of unwanted energies. That makes complete sense to pair it with the sage; I must say I had an incredibly relaxing bath. I came out of it relaxed and energized!
January Moon Bath Bomb — Estimated Value $5-$10? (Bath bombs range from $5-$10 on site)
The January 21st moon brought about a series of three super moons—so much power and illumination to burst us forward into the New Year! It makes perfect sense that this bath bomb is a golden sparkling orb. The bath bomb is infused with the solar ruled St. John’s Wart to provide power and protection. In the middle is a sun-shaped coco butter oil disk that adds gorgeous bubbles of gold glitter and decadence! I came out of the tub feeling rejuvenated and soft to the touch due to the cocoa butter!
February Moon Bath Bomb — Estimated Value $5-$10? (Bath bombs range from $5-$10 on site)
This glitzy bath bomb has a lovely scent profile of lavender, garden mint, and wild rose. There are even dried rose petals in the bath bomb itself! The bath water was turned to this beautifully radiant pink shade that was the epitome of the romantic month of February.
Zodiac Bar Soap — Estimated Value $5.50- $10? (Soaps range from $5.50 to $10 on the site)
This bar soap has a clear design of the Zodiac and fits into the theme perfectly for this Winter Witch Baby box! The scent smells to me like frankincense, mint, and sage. It is immensely herbaceous and the soap itself left my skin soft with a hint of the soap’s scent.
Zodiac Candle, Gold Holographic Glitter, Carving Stick, and Kyanite Crystal
In this purple mesh bag is a bit of DIY goodness to create your own Zodiac candle.
The candle itself is a plain white candle, a blank canvas of sorts.
There are printed directions that ask you to select an astrological symbol that best represents your goal based on in the information provided in the Witch Baby zine.
There is a packet of gold and silver holographic glitter to wipe into the carving. The gold and silver glitter represent the balance of sun and moon energy.
The stick is supplied simply to carve the zodiac sign or other decorations you opt to put on your candle.
A Kyanite crystal is provided along with the other objects in this bag. The crystal is believed to provide energy as soon as you put it in your hands! Per the zine, Kyanite provides energy maintenance to the chakras and aura. It is believed to be a powerful aid for any dream work, psychic enhancement, divination, and clairvoyant endeavors. It makes perfect sense to include such a crystal for this candle.
Juno Sample Size Face Soap
Finally, Witch Baby enclosed a sample of their Juno face wash. The soap is said to be loaded with antioxidants and is made with cocoa, wine, and strawberries. My face definitely felt smoother after using, but I will probably stick with my heavy duty cleansers for most days. The size of this tiny soap will be ideal for my travel bag, though!
Verdict: Witch Baby forever remains one of my favorite subscription boxes. Their products are so thoughtful in terms of design, ingredients, and themes. Everything they make is made with love and care— and it truly shows! I appreciate how creative each release, but I also enjoy how lavish they are as well. I take comfort knowing that their products are ethically made and that they donate proceeds from products to groups like Planned Parenthood! I can get behind their ethos completely! The only thing I can remotely complain about is that this season’s box did not have a body oil; the body oil is something I look forward to every quarter! Otherwise, I am extremely pleased with the Winter spell box and am eager for the spring one (also am eager for the warmer weather!).
This box is $40 plus shipping for one-time purchase or $36 plus shipping if you subscribe to it quarterly. All of the items featured are exclusives to the subscription box and are not available for purchase (Lucy Purr, Venus Wine, and Juno are all Valentine’s Day Collection items). The bath bombs range in price, but due to shape and size to similar ones I saw on the site I determined each bath bomb would more than likely retail at $6.50 each which is $19.50 for all three. A similar soap like the Zodiac one was retailed for $6.50 on the site. Most of the scrubs are $5, the 1oz body butter is not a size available for purchase on the site, the Juno soap is a sample size, and the Zodiac candle kit and Kyanite aren’t available on the site at all. If I take into account how much the other items retail that comes up to $31 before shipping, which is less than the cost of the subscription. Do take into account though, this price does not take into account costs for sample size products, Zodiac candle kit, or Kyanite stone and that these are limited produced bath bombs, soaps, and body scrubs.
To Wrap Up:
Value Breakdown: This box costs $36 + shipping, which means that each of the 8 items in the box has an average cost of $4.50.
