Walt Life Surprise Box December 2018 Review

This is the first time MSA has had the opportunity to review this particular box, and I must say that while I am thrilled to be doing it, my kids are absolutely ECSTATIC. I can’t imagine how excited they would be if we were actually going on a Disney vacation!

FYI - There were no listed values for any items in this box, so I did my best to find the items on other websites:

Walt Life Surprise December 2018 - Contents

Along with all of the Disney themed goodies, I received a list of the included treasures with a small summary about each item. I like that they included this so I didn’t miss any items in all the paper shreds, but wish they would have included a value for each item.

Walt Life Surprise December 2018 - Guide Box FrontWalt Life Surprise December 2018 - Travel Tips Back

We also received a Walt Life Guide Book. This guide has travel tips and an adventure list with helpful information about what you should pack, fun tips, and a little scavenger hunt for your visit. It folds in half for easy carrying and is printed on heavy cardstock for durability.

Walt Life Surprise December 2018 - Pin Trading Guide

Also printed on heavy cardstock, is a Walt Life Pin Trading Guide. This little guide has tips and tricks for trading pins on your Disney vacation. Because I have only been to Disneyland once, there was some information included that I didn’t know, so it was very helpful!

Walt Life Surprise December 2018 - Treasure Sheet

On the bottom of our box, buried under all the goodies and packaging paper, we found a genie lamp printed on heavy cardstock. It has information about sharing your trip photos on their social media pages. On the other side, they give you an opportunity to win prizes by collecting “Treasure.” Included in our box was a round cardstock treasure piece. If you collect all 8 you could win a trip for 2 to Disney World! They also have smaller prizes up for grabs like a Disney Tsum Tsum mini, and a Disney Mini Bean Bag Plush. A fun addition!

Walt Life Surprise December 2018 - Cinderella Bookmark

Also included in the “paperwork” was a heavy cardstock printed Cinderella bookmark. It was not listed on the contents page, but what a sweet little bonus! Especially because Cinderella is my favorite!

Walt Life Surprise December 2018 - Chip Pin FrontWalt Life Surprise December 2018 - Chip Pin Back

2015 Chip Safety Pin Shaped Pin

The first (and smallest) item in the box was a 2015 Chip (from Chip and Dale) safety pin shaped pin. It is all metal, almost 2” long, and 1” tall, and includes a rubber, black Mickey head shaped back on it. It will go perfectly on the next item!

Walt Life Surprise December 2018 - Lanyard FullWalt Life Surprise December 2018 - Lanyard Closeup

Mickey Mouse and Friends Lanyard - Estimated Value $7.05

This Mickey and Friends Lanyard features a 23.5” breakaway strap, clip with a photo of Mickey and the gang, and an extra breakaway clip for additional storage. I have seen people put their pins on their lanyards, so that is what I am going to do! I also noticed you can put your “fast pass” into the photo slot for ease of use! I like how this lanyard includes all of my favorite characters and is so bright and cheery!

Walt Life Surprise December 2018 - Bottle Clip PackagedWalt Life Surprise December 2018 - Bottle Clip Unwrapped

Mickey Mouse Bottle Holder Keyring - Estimated Value $6.04

I have never seen bottle holder keyring, but this one is adorable! It will definitely come in handy when we go on short hikes to keep us hydrated. I like that it can clip on anything! The rubber Mickey Head is pretty flexible, so it should fit onto just about any bottle.

Walt Life Surprise December 2018 - Playpack frontWalt Life Surprise December 2018 - PlayPack bake

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Play Pack Grab & Go - Estimated Value $1.49 (found a similar item here for $1.19)

I love these play packs! This little re-sealable bag includes a mini coloring book, a small sheet of stickers, and 4 crayons. The entire package is about 5X8” and fits into my purse with ease. I love having these on the go because you never know when you might need it! This has been a lifesaver during wedding receptions, dinner dates with the kids, and long car rides!

Walt Life Surprise December 2018 - Luggage Tag FrontWalt Life Surprise December 2018 - Mickey Luggage Tag Back

Jerry Leigh Mickey Mouse Luggage Tag - found here for $6.70

This adorable luggage tag is about 4 by 4 inches in size, and is made out of a flexible rubber/plastic material. It has 3 lines for name and address on the back, which might be a little small, but all information should fit with an extra fine sharpie. My son likes this tag so much he asked if he could put it on his backpack for school!

Walt Life Surprise December 2018 - Mickey Goggles

Mickey and the Roadster Racers Swim Goggles - Estimated Value $6.90

These goggles are a really cute addition to the box. If we were going on a Disney vacation, I can definitely see the boys using these in the pool! They have a red adjustable band on the back and blue eyepieces that are adjustable in the middle. They also feature Mickey on one side of the goggles and Donald Duck on the other. These were a big hit with my boys, and have already been requested to be used in the bathtub tonight!

Walt Life Surprise December 2018 - Mickey Drawstring Bag

Mickey and the Roadster Racers Bag - Buy a 6-pack for $16.94

I couldn’t find this particular bag by itself, so it looks like it can only be purchased as a 6 pack. It is a non-woven drawstring bag with Mickey, Donald, and Goofy. There are 2 strings that feature safety detach beads. It is about 14” in size, and perfect to hold all of the goodies that were featured in this bag! It's definitely a good size to store in a purse for extra purchases at the Disney parks!

Walt Life Surprise December 2018 - Poncho

Mickey Mouse Youth Poncho - Buy a 2-pack for $14.99

This one size clear, youth poncho features Mickey ears and the lettering “MICKEY” across the front. It also has a hood and plastic buttons to snap for the armholes, making putting it on a breeze. When planning a vacation, I never want to think about poor weather, but I’m glad they included this so a little rain doesn’t ruin a trip! Let’s just hope we don’t have to use it!

Walt Life Surprise December 2018 - Disney Hat

Disney Youth Hat Featuring Mickey, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto - Estimated Value $15.33 (based on a similar style)

This is a really cute, well-made baseball cap featuring Mickey, Goofy, Donald Duck, and Pluto, along with the word “Disney” It is youth sized and features a red velcro back, so it adjusts and fits both of my boys’ heads perfect. The tag also states that it is indeed the Disney brand.

Walt Life Surprise December 2018 - BoysinMickey Gear

Verdict: This Walt Life Surprise Box was a definite surprise for us. We weren’t sure what to expect but we're happy with what we received. Although we aren’t going on a Disney vacation, my kids were thrilled with the items. I can only imagine how excited a child would be to receive this box and find out they were heading to Disney! It is a great concept. I see how all of these items would enhance the experience of heading to a Disney park, and how they would have you prepared ahead of time. We will get the most use out of the ball cap, bag, play pack, luggage tag, and swim goggles, but the pin and lanyard were fun too. The only complaint my boys had was that this box didn’t include a plush Disney character. That would have made it epic!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get the box today? Possibly. Each box can be customized based on age and gender, and pins can vary in each box. Your first box will be sent within 1-3 business days, and subsequent boxes will be sent out by the 20th of each month.

Value Breakdown: This box costs $48.00 + free shipping, which means that each of the 9 items in the box has an average cost of $5.33.

This box is actually a really cool idea. I can remember being a kid and I was overcome with anticipation, literally couldnt sleep a few days before a Disney trip. (I live in FL so there were lots of them). . and this goes for my kids too. It was more exciting than Santa. Getting these boxes leading up to the trip time would add even more excitement! I cant wait to do this for my grandkids.. they gonna love it and so am I! (And so will their mama! ) If all the boxes contain cool items like these for the trip, and helpful tips for the parks how can you go wrong! ? Disney is an expensive trip, (especially if you have to really travel to get there) but unforgettable for a child, may as well make the most of it as possible!

It is quite fetching isn’t it?! 😂

I live in Orlando and everything but the pin could easily have come from Target. I think the concept of this is cute, but it doesn’t feel it’s worth the $50 price point. I’m glad your kids enjoyed everything though!

I’m a former Cast Member and never heard of “Jerry Leigh” products. I looked the company up, and the merchandise is wholesale from China. Jerry Leigh claims the items are “officially licensed”. The quality isn’t there for the price.

Way overpriced for what this is, you can get similar items at the dollar store. For almost $50, this should include an official autograph book + marker, a plush, and a few more pins. The in-room packages for kids that WDW flower and gifts offer are actually a better value, and that is really saying something. It’s too bad because this is a nice concept for surprising kids with a trip. But you could cobble together something much nicer with the same amount of money from the sale section at the Disney store.
