Soap Shack January 2019 - Film Ftont

New this month was our soaps being wrapped in a biodegradable food-safe film! I like how this keeps the scent of the soaps contained, and also prevents the paper labels from falling off.

Springtime Lilac in Bloom Soap, 3.5 oz – Retail Value $6.95

I can almost see spring through this cold weather, and this month’s soaps are helping me visualize it. This soap is made with olive oil, cocoa butter, coconut oil, and shea butter to provide a moisturizing cleanse to your skin. This had a really delicate floral scent from the lilac, and it made me feel extra feminine when I finished sudsing up.

Forbidden Pink Grapefruit Soap, 3.5 oz – Estimated Value $6.95

This soap is made with the same moisturizing ingredients as Springtime, only it has a pink grapefruit scent that I adore and the added benefits of Kaolin clay. The citrus is mild and not too zesty, but it still left my skin smelling great. I also love how these soaps come wrapped in plantable fibers that can sprout California wildflowers!

The Verdict: Is it spring yet? I am sure those of you up north are certainly wishing for it more than I, but the January scents have me really envisioning springtime blooms and no more chill. For $12.95 a month, including free shipping, I think this is one of the better, more affordable bath and body subscription boxes out there! The fact that The Soap Shack only uses food-grade quality oils and butter is evident when using the soap. I also find that being surprised by the scent choices is a rather inexpensive delight (how many times are we actually surprised by items in a subscription box these days considering our need for spoilers?), and I look forward to the February box.

To Wrap Up:

Can you get this box if you sign up today? No, you will get the February box.

Value Breakdown: This box costs $12.95 and I received two bars of soap. The perk of subscribing vs buying the soaps outright is that shipping is included in the subscription box price, so you are saving a few dollars while still getting high-quality soap!

I am a staunch believer that pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza and when I’m not working as a family law attorney I enjoy hiking the Louisiana trails (alligator sightings are a favorite!) or relaxing with Duchess, my cat. I’m a sucker for anything labeled a mystery box and I’ve never met a bath bomb I didn’t like.

  1. Where do you store all this soap? Do you try it once and pass it on…ewww. It is a great box but soap last a really long time. I just don’t understand this sub unless a lot of people are using the bars.

  2. I subbed to a different soap sub box but had to stop because it quickly became a hoard and my bars were half the size. I love fancy soaps but high quality soaps last forever. This does look nice though.
